Which court of law gave the order for the demolition?? And on what grounds exactly? |
amc:No Flyers for the said event was posted on the building, or any where near it.. And they didn't confirm from the managers of the hotel (either directly, or in a coded way) that such event was actually booked to be held there. They should have waited until the event might have started, so that they can catch them in the very act. Someone that is still thinking of doing something, cannot be judged that he had already done it. |

Even though the Anambra State Government, through the Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA), had been doing routine palliative works on that road every Christmas period, they had always ignored the main cause of problem at that very spot. .. THE PROBLEM. As usual, they did Laterite filling and grading and compaction on the evening of Thursday the 24th of December 2020. But Fast-Forward to today which is exactly one week after, (Thursday the 31st of December 2020), there had been serious ponding on the road adjoining to the major road which the Government graded. Residents who live along this adjoining roads would have to swim through the pond before getting to their houses. .. THE SOLUTION. The best step towards the true solution to any problem is in identifying the true cause of the problem. The bad Sammy-Sparkle Road is caused by inflow of flood and run-off and waste water from the adjoining road, which actually do not flow into the designated drainages and culverts; rather the floods and run-off would always find their ways to the surface of the road and percolate on the road surface and as well destroy the road subsurface. All the earlier constructed (existing) drainages and culverts at that spot are all undersized, and they also had lowered inverts; and as such, they were not serviceable, which consequently lead to them getting silted up. Properly Sized and adequately placed drainages and culverts are needed at that very spot in order to safely and conveniently convey the floods and run-off and waste-water off the road. (The culverts should also be designed in such a way that it should contain raised inverts and top-slab levels too, so as to avoid silting-up in the near future).

tyup:Hahahahahahahaaahaa.. ..On a normal day, we are not supposed to be seeing military personnel frequently. They really do not have anything to do with ordinary civilians that had not instigated or caused any severe security situation. .. But then, they too should learn how to be civil when interacting with civilians. That though wouldn't stop us from learning to greet them with their names. |
Thomthom:Report Them To Social Media Mbok...!! Taking them to court takes a very long time to come through. Social Media reporting is always faster. .. I know about “Esprit de Corps”.. That thing dey spoil a lot of show for ordinary citizens. |
Thomthom:I understand your point. Those Rich People already know highly placed Police Officers such as CPs, AIGs and so on, whom they would call and they would just order the smaller Officer to back off their harassments. ... But for the rest of us that do not know any high-ranking officer, we can still get them to be civilised in the way they treat us. Be Civil with them first, and you will see them treat you well in return. But then, even if they didn't treat you well in return, reporting them and exposing them would be made a lot more easier. |
holluwizzy:(@Bolded) You see that Bolded Statement?? That's the greatest lie In Nigeria. |
Litmus:You protect what is there already in existence. Tell me the Nigerian Image you were urging us to protect.. The same image which the likes of Liar Mohammed and co are constantly attracting international insults to with his lies and senseless unverified statements?? |
Chukwute,, please see this thread too. |
greatness77:I would like to see the link to other story. Thanks |
I hope this little suggestion would go a long way in savings us from the excesses of all the Uniform Personnel in Nigeria, but most especially, The Police. |
I came across a thread where someone was complaining about a policeman on stop-and-check duty who hit a lady's nose with the butt of his gun, and he (with his colleagues on duty) quickly moved away from their duty posts and vacated the area after they saw that blood had started coming out from the lady's nose. .. https://www.nairaland.com/6336869/police-officer-hits-lady-gun .. The part that got my attention to the whole story was the part that said: “...Every effort by Focus Naija to contact the DPO of the Ekpan station for comments into the assault were unsuccessful.....” .. In all the story, I couldn't even see where they mentioned the name of the Officer involved in the assault incident, not to talk of his number, or that of any of his colleagues. And she was expecting justice to be served verysoon?? She may Never get the justice she is seeking, and that's the blunt truth. .. Even if the President of Nigeria demanded to see to the end of this case, he can't get anything meaningful out of the case. In fact , the best that could happen is for the Police to invite the lady to the Ekpan Police Station to physically identify the Officer who assaulted her, and woe would betide her if she couldn't identify the officer in question - which is 98% possible, because the DPO, before the day of the invitation, would have known the whole truth about the assault incident; and because of “Esprit de Corps”, he would make sure the officers involved in the incident would be unavoidably absent on the day of the invitation. Or he would blatantly deny that it was not officers from his station that patrolled that axis on that very day in question. .. What I am trying to say with all the narrative above is that: “We The Citizens Are Not Doing Our Best At Making The Officers To Have A Sense Of Service To Us - The Citizenry.” .. The “Name-Tag” and “Number-Tag” on the uniforms of Police Officers (and those of all other Military and Paramilitary Personnel) are there for identification purposes. They are there mainly for the consumption of the public. And it is so painful that we - The Citizens - are not even using it at all.. Lots of Police-Brutality and Police-Assault stories are flying everywhere, yet none of these stories made the slightest attempt to identify the officers involved. .. Let us begin to form the habit of greeting these officers by their names. That alone would save us a lot from them. It's Not Difficult. Before you talk to them, just look at the top of the breast-pocket and quickly see the name there on the Name-Tag and greet him with it.. Something like: “Good Morning Officer Ekpan, how are you today?”.. With that alone, he will apply enough decorum and courtesy while attending to you. Don't just stop your greeting at “Good Morning Officer”.. You have to complete it. This is because, not only that the incomplete greetings gave him the room to feel that you have not fully identified him yet, you yourself may easily forget the name you saw on his Name-Tag if you didn't use it. You have to call him by his name because it is easier to remember a name you saw and called out and also interacted with. .. And should there be any case of arguments afterwards, even before any assaults might have happened, you should continue to call him by his name., and not just saying: “Officer let me explain....” .. I am looking forward to the day the police would start to genuinely help Nigerians without intimidations and assaults. |
Brosst:Ok.. I wish you the best in your search for financial freedom, and a quick recovery from your predicament too. .. You wouldn't blame me though for my earlier alarm. I was once a victim of a very smart syndicate. And they came with a pitiful narrative which moved me to want to help the main supposed begger in anyway I could. |
vanesa:You have a very good heart. Meanwhile, verify the story very well please.. .. I am seeing a syndicate here. (a group of scammers all working together) |
