The simple fact you`ve been privilaged to have an internet connection at your disposal is not enough for one to be spewing rubbish without rational thinking. This inccident cannot be blamed at the organizers or GEJ. We here of stampede all the time even in the most developed countries of the world. Elvis Prisely in his days caused stampede. Micheal Jacksoñ, Pope Jöhñ Päü£ |
Well, to every his opinion. But one thing I want all to understand is that Nigeria is a very complex country to govern. Haven't you guys noticed how GEJ has aged rapidly since he took over the mantle of leadership of this complex state? Ya'll should cut him some slack, this nation is bedeviled with crooks all over and he is not a magician to fish all out same time. He may have genuine intentions but sabotage just because some folks dont like his face or were he comes from will impede his progress. To the power issue, folks need to do a critical analysis. You dont just look at figures that is claimed to have been generated. Even If we generate 10,000MW of electricity and dont have in place a sound distribution network, lots of homes will still be in darkness. Yes I must attest to the fact that there has been a considerable improvement in power in my neighborhood but that cant be said of other peoples' cos of distribution issues. Most times, poor power supply in some areas can be blamed on their sub-stations and not necessarily absence of power on the sub. Due to rapid urbanization, most subs has been overwhelmed with power needs so PHCN resorts to load sharing so as not to overload the system. You guys castigating Joe will not understand till u get there. If you have ever been in a position of leadership in this country no matter how small, you'll know how far. |
I have the feeling most of the respondents here ain't got feelings and emotions. You guys don't know what it means to carry that burden. Its a health hazard. @Poster, pls you have to find a way to offload that hazardous feeling before it destroys you. 20yrs ain't no piece of cake. You want to hear the TRUTH? Until you make this disclosure, you will never break free from it. No point hiding your head in the sand, it ain't leaving until you let him know. I wish you did this 20yrs ago. |

Guys guys guys, little did I know that brothers still love the MB as much as I do. I am a german machine freak. I have used the 230E flatboot in the mid 90s, used a Honda Civic for change later but was appalled at its performance. I went for a BMW E36 Wagon wasnt very impressed cos it drags before picking speed and makes a lot of noise. In 02 I researched about the MB cars and my discoveries will shock ya'll. The MB W124s of 1995 stands out as the best MB ever built. I have used the E200 between 2002 & 2006, sold it to friend and still running like new till date. I currently drive the 99 E320. Presently, I have a 95 W124 up for grabs. Check it out on this trade www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-584115.0.html its packed with power. Its tincan cleared just last month after the xmas break. Grab it now if you love MB. |

I'm not moved by the critics here who's got no better thing to do with themselves order than to pick holes in everything. Like someone rightly said, their psych has been so bruised that they can tell any longer good from bad. JEG's oratory without the aid of any material is first of its kind from a sitting or aspiring president in this country. I was clued to my tube and watched it from beginning to end. He was exceptional. Those ranting about accent, which Nigerian president in the past can be compared to his eloquence? Also bear in mind that he is not a linguist, neither is he british or american. When references are made on Obama, I thought folks here slitting GEJ's throat would have been wise enough to know that the reference is on the content and sincerity of the speech. Those arguing that the speech is not detailed enough, I laugh. Did you guys forget so soon that he came to make a formal declaration of his intent to run for presidency? Its not a debate neither is he addressing the nation on his achievements. One thing you guys should understand; all ye GEJ critics is that, he is a man of few words. He has made significant progress within these few months he's been in power. He never shouted them before reaching those goals. I like his style. About some of the political prostitutes present at his declaration, you guys may well agree with me that this even is not a strictly by invitation type gathering. Every Nigerian citizen is entitled to be there. We know who we are concerned about that is the most important. Ya'll should cut this man some slack, he is miles the best in this race and even among the past leaders - dictators I mean. Go GEJ+A, we are solidly behind you. Nobody can rob this us of this devine provision. |
Please someone should confirm if this is the Nigeria at 50 logo. I have been searching for it to see what it looks like cos I know a competition was held in respect of the logo.

Certain developments recently has caught my attention. Has anybody noticed it? PHCN has improved more than ever before in the last 5years. Our Naira has shown some signs of appreciatiation over the USD and CFA. Are these signs of good things to come? Is Jonathan Goodluck the messiah that Nigeria has been waiting for? Air your views. |

@OP: In one sentence- It is a ponzi scheme. RUN! |
There is no need for off topic wars. Lets focus on the matter at hand. This unfortunate attack is a well orchestrated event to discredit both the christians and the government of Goodluck Jonathan. My pain is the truth will be suppressed as long as Naija is concerned. But sorry to the Mutalabs, they failed woefully. |
Growing up, I was fascinated by every new knowledge I acquired and that made me very inquisitive. I remember back in my days in secondary school, we had a certain couple as our neighbour. They are newly wed without any child yet but are always at each others jugular. No week passes bye without a fight or two. The groom happens to be our landlord's son. I remember asking our aged landlord then what one can do to live happily with his wife (seeing what goes on between his son and wife) and he said to me, "SON, OPEN YOUR EYES VERY WELL BEFORE MARRIAGE, AND CLOSE IT HALFWAY THEREAFTER". I still recall that day vividly. It was the morning after one of the couples various fights and schools are on holidays. The man alway made an interesting companion. He tells me loads of stories about live in the UK were he lived for years. I applied this formular, it seem to be working but it has its downside. My question now is: How true is this formular and does it make one less of a man seeing certain things you ordinarily wouldn't condone before marriage going on and you just look the other way? Bearing in mind you don't want to be tagged a nagging husband. |
Ah! Does this in any way sound credible to you guys? "Jesus sent me indeed". It doesn't take rocket science to decipher this whole charade as a grand conspiracy by Al'Queda or whatever they call themselves and the majority northern moslems to discredit the christian majority south in Nigeria. If anyone buys this, then the person may as well believe Osama Bin Laden is Obama's first cousin. They should tell us how he was able to beat all the security checks to reach the tarmac. Sorry folks, this cheap blackmail failed. They should try something else. The co-conspirators are scattered all over both in government and public sectors so don't worry your heads over how he got to the tarmac. Its a grand plan but they failed sorry to say. |

Nairaland is now something else. One can't even modify his own post to either make corrections or add further comments. I bought my sim (then mtn) for N20,000. It didn't come easy as there was a super long que then at the mtn Maritime House center along Oshodi/Apapa expressway. It took over 2hrs to eventualy buy the sim. That was in the week the launched their service (I think August 2001 or so). Calls were N50 per min. I had to pay N10k for caller ID. The list recharge card then was N1500. Boy it wasn't easy. Can you imagine that today, same sim card sells for N200 or less. Those guys are mean. I forgot to add, I bought an Ericsson T28 phone to go with then for N45,000. Today, same phone if it can be found will probably be going for less than N1,000. Thank God for today at least everybody can afford to own a phone unlike then. |

Ha ha ha ha ha ha. I laugh in portuges. Can any sane Nigerian actually want to believe this? But na wah for this Nigerian media houses shaaaaa. Of what good will it do to Daily Trust to brandish before Nigerians this kind of dumb lies? Do they think we are all fools? There is no iota of truth in this fabrication so Nigerians should pls not loose sleep. This is just a last but futile attempt to hijack and cow Jonathan. |
