Car TalkRe: Suv Or Jeep by BluStreak(m): 12:27am On Jan 01, 2013
tpacalipse: I call them trucks not jeeps, afterall Nigeria is a place where things get destroyed.
Well, sorry to say you even shot way off the goal post in your own case. SUVs or Jeeps as it is popularly called in Naija is not same as trucks. Trucks are the class with a bucket or open carriage compartment.

@Siena

So for a 2007 Honda Accord is my configuration too high? I have a 35psi front tyres & 40psi back tyres. I thank God for my life oº°˚ . To imagine I had my entire family (wife, daughter & Nanny on this trip).
Car TalkIdeal Long Trip Tyre Pressure To Avoid Tyre Burst by BluStreak(op): 10:14am On Dec 31, 2012
Please mods take this to front page as it could save lives.

70% of the accidents on our road this xmas has been attributed to tire burst most especially when it is the front tyre. I had a 1st hand experience when I saw an FG owned Hilux Truck do an acrobatic on the asaba - benin expressway. Thank God no life was lost. The driver attributed the accident to a front tyre burst. There were several other accidents on the east - west road stretch all attributed to tyre burst. We will not forget in a hurry that of the governor's Lexus SUV also caused by a front tire burst. Some of these vehicles are brand new or less that 3yrs bearing in mind that these tyres have a life span of 4-5yrs.

My question now is, considering our hot climate which causes the surface of our highways to heat up several degrees from about 12noon to 5pm, causing the tyre pressure to also take a hike. What will be the ideal tyre pressure for long trips on these highways? I saw a lot of accidents on my way to the east this season & on enquiry, the cause is always the same; tyre burst.

Personally, I do 35psi front tyres and 40psi back tyres for my long trips outside Lagos. I assume this will give room for the pressure peak when the highways get heated up.
CrimeRe: Abuja Woman Bites Off Neighbour’s unmentionable by BluStreak(m): 5:04pm On Nov 23, 2012
Denn: since the unmentionable was bitten off, i can only say the unsayable. pouring water has now turned unthinkable. since pus is coming out of the unmentionable, unmentionable has turned undrinkable. however, the plantiff is lucky as she has two unmetionable. this implies that only one is unsuckable and the other unmentionable is unharmed.

i rest my unrepentant case.
This is epic. I don laff sotey I nearly jam army general for aso rock.
PoliticsRe: Lagos-ibadan Expressway: FG Kicks Out Bi-courtney, Award Contracts To Berger, RC by BluStreak(m): 10:29am On Nov 20, 2012
What! Anybody suggesting a contract of this magnitude be awarded to Borino or whatever they are called should go to Tincan 2nd gate and see for themselves. That contraption is the most incompetent company ever to handle a project in this hemisphere. They have been running round for over 3yrs trying to build a new bridge across to liverpool from the Tin-can 2nd gate end. Tufiakwa.

CCC is no better but at least, they have fared well in some of their projects.

JB & RCC is on point.

Ahhhhh!!!!! Well thought out expose AcidTalk. Julius is a tout. I met him at a friend's BD-bash that he was da MC. With all his dry jokes and ugly voice, he was forming Don-da-da. See his arrogance? E no get part 2.

MI. That guys is as humble as a Lamb. I give it to him. Met him once and we interacted like we have known for ages.

Genevive Nnaji. Well I guess her demeanor the day I met her at Miss Delta Soap event stemmed from the fact that we were friends before her fame. People say she is a snob, I didn't see much of that on that day even though she had this air around her. It wasn't as it would have been running into an old friend like 11yrs after.

Timi Dakolo. This guy blew my mind when we met at the last Red Ball event at Eko Hotel. He was so humble. I even engaged him is small talks and he was all so free with me and we even too fotos together. I hail you Timo as I got calling him there and then.

Aki of the Aki & Pawpaw fame. I give it to that guy, has got swag sha. But he is just arrogant. Met him in a car shop at Ikeja one time. Boys were hailing him, you need to see the way he shunned them? That was arrogance.

Don't tell me to ask google cos I already did. This may seem simple but the answer elusive. I bet this will throw a lotta people into a thinking fit.

EventsRe: Wedding Mistakes ~ What Would You Have Done Differently? by BluStreak(m):
Jeeeze! I thought I was the only one in this "I wish I did it differently thingy". If I have my way, I will go back and change everything. My wife & I talk about this often.

I wouldn't have spent the colossal amount I spent on my wedding.

I would have insisted on it taking place here in Lagos instead so more of my friends will come & make it a memorable day for me.

The photographer even though gσσ∂ missed the very vital shots.

I would have hired a better DJ if I knew the one bundled with the event center would be a mess. During our inspection tour of the facility we saw state of the art DJ console but on D-day music was being played off a vcd player cos d DJ console was bad. So there was regular interruptions on the music.

I wouldn't have wasted money on 2 cartons of Moet Rose for my special guests who ended up abroad on summer holidays instead. It was painful. Even at that the drinks couldn't be accounted for.

I would have gone with my wife to inspect the wedding gown she chose cos it ended up making her lƠ̴͡Ơ̴͡k fat & preggy.

Wouldn't have spent so much to order for 200 pcs of custom invitation cards. It really isn't worth it.

Infact I would have done everything all over. Insisted on a small - strictly on invitation - 50 to a 100 guests wedding. I for no send anybody. Its our (My wife & I) life.

In fact, I did everything wrong. I guess I was too excited plus wifey wanted a fairy-tale wedding. But at last she realized it wasn't worth it after all.

Now my store if full of cheap crappy chinawares, glasswares, crappy aluminium pots, kitchen wares and even plastics we can't use. So annoying.
CrimeRe: Suspected Kidnappers And Victims Trade Blames by BluStreak(m):
Well, you guys have all done a gσσ∂ job trying to decrypt this kidnap puzzle. Using CSI style, you'lI will agree with at the end that the chief is not innocent after all. He must have been in this game for longer.

Fact 1: I don't believe mama Chichi lives in Badagary & runs her beer parlour business in Aguda Surulere till such late hours.

Fact 2: Mama Chichi held tight to her phone cos that is her only lifeline in such a precarious situation & hour, not her clothes she jettisoned to avoid being spotted.

Fact 3: Mama Chichi cannot be running her business & be getting drunk at the same time. Even if she has sales girls, she needs to be at alert to coordinate affairs at the joint.

Fact 4: They victims were not intoxicated enough to last the journey reason they regained consciousness midway.

Let me try to piece together what happened.

Chief & his driver co-conspirator arrives a beer parlour with the intent to kidnap. Saw a long time friend (hmmm easy prey) buys him a couple of drinks (laced it with a drug at some point). And along the line offers mama chichi a drink also and laced that too with same drug. In the victims last minute consciousness, the chief promised to drive them home. When in the car (am sure both dumped at the back seat), chief and driver stalled for a while to let the drug take full effect on their victims before heading off. But due to the alcohol level in both vicitims, drugs effectiveness was hampered; reason they regained consciousness earlier than anticipated. In the commotion that ensued when the victims found out the car is heading a different direction from were the lived, mama chichi jumped off & escaped. With one of the victims free, chief knew his game is up so the best bet is to reverse and make it seems he was helping. They obviously allowed the second victim call mama chichi so as to deflate the whole crime & make it seem like they were truly just helping.

The key questions here are:
1. Why is chief on badagary expressway with mama chichi & the other vicitm at 3:00am?

2. Why did chief offer vigilante N300k. Bear in mind that he didn't envisage meeting any resistance by that hour.

This is a pure case of kidnapping gone bad.
PhonesRe: Exciting: Blackberry 10 Aristo Specifications by BluStreak(m): 8:26am On Oct 04, 2012
On the upgrade issue, BB OS is not alone on the upgrade limitations. Most android devices are not able to upgrade from previous generation OS say "Ginger Bread" to "НƠ̴̴͡Ω̶̣̣̥̇̊
Єϒ Comb" etc. Some of these upgrade are hardware specific. The new Apple iOS 6 is only supported from iPhone 3Gs and above and from iPad 2 up. Its not even all the features of the new iOS that the previous devices support.

Just so we should know - my 2 kobo.

vivian chinaza: Being an independent woman doesn't automatically make you a man! And it really pains me when women blame their inability to be a real woman on "independence!" A woman should be a woman anytime any day! Being independent is just an added advantage!

@ op, I'm gonna be as blunt as possible...... The worst thing that can ever happen to a man is to marry a woman who can't cook or keep a house together! A woman is supposed to be a home maker! Forget this love matter.......na u go tire by the time it starts frustrating you! This is not yankee or Jand! This is Africa for goodness sake! Here in Naija, men come home from their hectic jobs to a delicious home made meal prepared by their lovely wives, not order for chinese food joor! Don't even think of house helps cos its gonna get worse, and the lineage passes over to ur kids (girls) cos a snake begets a snake! If she can learn fine, in fact if she truly loves you and she know what marriage is all about she shouldn't wait for you to say something before she starts making an effort! But if she doesn't want to make an effort pls drop her like she is hot!

In fact, she is even missing a lot! Oh yes! She is missing that innermost joy that every woman feels when the man she love eats her food and almost chop the plate join cos he enjoys her meal!
I trust and so believe my down to earth Ibo sisters (not all oo, I'm talking about the down-to-earth). You don blow my mind Vivie. I walked down that road o and thank God I did just what you have advised this guy. I dropped her like a HOT ROD. She was gorgeous, and was created beautiful in every area you can imagine except for the domestic angle. Can't clean, can't cook, can't even make the bed on waking up. Leaves soap foam all over the tiles on the bathroom wall & shower curtain(Nyamaaaa). Guy if she is not doing it now, she never will do it. Being a home maker is a natural instinct God gave women from creation. Its never acquired/learnt.

@Mrs Mansson: N150k to a frugal person is enough and one can even make savings from it considering the fact that clothings and some other essentials are sent in from abroad. To some people, N150k aint enough and to others, it is more than enough. These 3 kids are 6,4 & 3yrs old. Differents strokes for different folks.

@Dirifred: If my sister attempts such, I will repremand her myself and also support her hubby in any punishment he chose including divorce let alone my own wife (She no dey fear? See divorce on top table). I dont condone evil cos thats what I will call this act. Like I have always affairmed, it is none of my business. I have never treated her any less despite how I feel about her actions.

Well, I just wanted to get people's opinion. She is actually doing it with the guy and I know about it. She came to seek councel from me because of the respect she has for me. She hasnt told my wife about it and I have not disclosed to my wife either and will not (maybe I will when we eventually move). I feel bad about that sha so I wanted just to know if there is any justification for the act. Its not as if I am just accusing her falsely.

monkeyleg: sorry, but if the story is as you state it. The woman is damn wicked. her Husbands goes away to sweat to bring money home for her and the kids, and the best she can do is entertain another man in his absence. Not wanting to be alarmist here, but she must be sternly cautioned, if that foolish married man "Taking advantage of her" can not stay away, I think it is only right and proper that husband knows whats going on, after all if it is all innocent, there is nothing to be scared of.

If the man did not do his best to support his family, he will be critisized as being lazy, now her does, wife takes advantage to bring ex-lover home to spend the Night, which kind wahala be dis. Damned if you do, Damned of you dont
Straight to the point of my biggest concern on the matter. It hurts really bad but I won't be the one to report either to the guy or his parents. Everyday for the thief, one day for the house owner. E ∂єƔ pain me sha wella I no go lie. This guys works 16hrs a day & sends this beach like N150k (so she said oº°˚, no proof sha) every month for upkeep. She's never been able to save a penny of this upkeep allowee from all indications, its not my concern sha oº°˚ but its hurts. I am a man & I don't pray my wife does same to me.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Superstitious Beliefs That Actually Works! by BluStreak(m): 7:20am On Sep 26, 2012
Some of these myths/superstitions did work. The sore throat remedy works like a charm so also is that of hiccup. How would u explain the Chinese acupuncture? A process of sticking series of needles on parts of the human body to cure ailments? The problem we Africans have is "Not believing in ourselves". Probably because our ancestors/generations-past could not come up with some bamboozing theories to support some of these proven & time tested believes, we are terming them ignorance and stupidity. The white spot on the nail thingy never failed. I was a very inquisitive child growing up. During my secondary school, armed with the new found knowledge is science, I set out to unravel some of these believes that did infact work. I wanted to know why they work even with no scientific proof. The first in line was the Dolphin & white spot on the nail. I re-enacted the process that causes a white spot on the finger nails without a dolphin in sight. Result: No white spot. But when I did same with a dolphin in sight at other time, bingo: white spot on the nail. Findings: It actually does work but only God can prove why because I couldn't find any connection.

I also tested the sore throat own. I had to spit into the space between the door & its frame. Two days later sore throat was getting worse. But when I obeyed the law of spitting into a crack on the wall 3 times, same day, relief came culminating to a cure. Result: Proven. I still practice that till date.

Another myth that works is, if you are running or riding your bike (then it used to be Chopper), and an insect flies into ur eyes, quickly look back 3 times in quick succession without closing your eyes and the insect will be gone. It works even till date. At some point I concluded it was the wind current relative to your speed that blows the insect off.

The tying on 2 grasses to ward off being scolded worked for me as a child. That's when you over stayed outside oº°˚ either at play or running errands. Just do it before you get home and mention the person involved. Whether an uncle oº°˚, aunt oº°˚, mum or dad. It does work. I don't know about committing at home and running out to go and tire 2 leaves together.

So I will say, instead of making mockery of our ancestors with some of the remedies handed to us, we should use the new found knowledge in science etc to look into them. Who knows, the cure for AIDS might lie within.

I have read the story of Ruth. I must admit she is a wonderful woman. But on the account of her sneaking in to go an lay on Boaz's bed, na Konji cause am. She has never been with a man since the passing away of her husband so when she got that opportunity, she quickly snatched it. She seduced Boaz. I have this feeling the bible played down the scenario. The same wire that runs in the anatomy of today's women is the same in the days of Ruth just that they were more reserved (just maybe oº°˚). Konji has always been & will always be.

For those not in the know of what konji means, it means "ѕєχυαℓ starvation/deprivation".

@OP, are your folks not leaving together? I want to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. If they live separately, its a catalyst to side-kick mostly on the part of men. Women are not left out of side-kicks oº°˚ so my saying mostly on the side of men didn't rule out the fact women are competing seriously on the side-kick turf. Effects of kritikal Konji.

My opinion: Don't tell your mum. Talk with your day & warn him to desist from that. If eventually ur mum finds out, she will understand you didn't tell her cos u wanted to preserve her marriage & save her the accompanying heartache involved.

@Saga, I gbadu your analysis straight-up dude. The lady in question is close to my wife & she (my wife) has cautioned her on the impending dangers of their closeness considering her state of ѕєχυαℓ deprivation. She adviced that at the moment, she will be very vulnerable and shouldn't be putting herself in a very tempting position. At the same time the unhealthy relationship might flag off suspicion on the part of her in-laws which they will not hesitate to transmit to their son abroad.

We know it is very likely that nothing is happening as she has claimed oº°˚ but, the probability from all indications is 1/999.

grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin ROTFLMAO on all the direct attacks. This has nothing to do with me. (I full ground here for naija lol). My curiosity was only aroused by the flags flown by a neighbor/friend's wife. The guy is in far away foreign land sweating it out and sending money home so she can take care of herself and their 3 little kids. She is a stay-at-home mum, so has no job neither does she do any business. I am concerned not because I intend confronting her or reporting to her hubby, its just painful to think she is cheating on her hubby with a married ex who she claims is a friend. This guy comes to the house very often and buys stuffs for the kids. He stays over most weekends too. I admit nothing is impossible (that includes sleeping with the ex) as the relationship might truly be on platonic basis.

Its none of my business sha. I threw it open here just to hear what folks think.
