Gaskiya, these boys are gradually turning ladies to potential phsycatric patient. Imagine a girl already pregnant and you broke the relationship because of stretch mark turnoffs...
Yaba straigth
ladies spend quite a huge time making themselve look 'better' all because of boys. Some even go outside their way and some even become monsters all for the sake of looking 'fine' probably for one boy. At least appreciate them and not dwelling on some naturally induced marks.
It just reminds me of a lady who said she cant marry a man with hair on his body.
Seriously, this age is insane.

Am not claiming to be any 'mr Holy' but really i dont understand what my fellow young men think now. How can stretch mark be a criteria for wanting a girl?
This is a trait than cant be controlled, you might have them and dont even know. I hope we wont get to a time when court cases will get to another dimension as illustrated in the little drama.
In court.
Husband; i want to dissolve our marriage.
Judge; on what grounds
husband: ever since we got married, she has been developing stretch marks as if she fought with a lion.
Judge faints.
In as much as we know that the world today is messed up, there is no denying the fact that quintessence are still doting the society. Dont let stretch marks deny you of lifes most important thing after salvation

Stretch mark is noting...character is everything.
My brother is engaged to this lady with very 'endtime' characters, in fact, she is saying she will love to give birth through CS.
sweep=zero,
wash=zero( even the bedsheet they both sleep on)
sometimes when she cooks in the house, she does so for only herself and her husband to be.
Can her stretch mark free body augment for that?
Stretch mark my foot.

After reminencing on my previous post as regards the subject matter, some ideas also sprung up which i feel might be the reason for the 'rather bizzare' rat race and its this;
maybe an unmarried 'old lady' must have told them as layed in the little drama below
(aunty talks with little girl)
aunty:' see me, i am an old woman now and am yet to be married, men wouldnt like to look at us again. So when you are growing and your physical morphology begins to manifest...shine your eyes!( She blares) any man that come your way, just grab him.
Little girl: but aunty, at what age do you think is appropriate? Say 21 /22 or something?
Aunty: you better shine your eyes, immediately you finish secondary school and somebody comes, just cooperate. I am speaking from experience.
Little girl: aunty, is it that bad?
Aunty: its very bad, infact its endtime things. Do you know those my friends that come here,? Non of us are married. We just come and console ourselves any time we meet.
Little girl: its that so? Na wa o. I will not allow that to happen to me o. Infact, i will start looking for husband when i am in ss1. But aunty you are still fine na, God can still bring somebody.
Aunty: amen o.

dasparrow:

Oh, you just noticed? You have Nigerian society to thank for that. I have never seen or met a group of people who have such an unhealthy obsession with marriage like Nigerians. Its indeed terrible. Its so bad that overseas - in USA - for instance, I have had other black Africans who are not Nigerian ask me in the past why most Nigerians are so marriage desperate. Its very shameful considering that the average Nigerian marriage - marred by excessive infidelity, meddling in-laws, lack of spousal affection and compassion, servant-master relationship, maltreatment of the widow, seizing the children from the woman in the event of the marital union's breakdown, blaming the woman for the baby's gender and emotional, verbal and physical abuse - is nothing to write home about. Interestingly, people from other nationalities and cultures are aware of the fact that many Nigerians have a hellish marriage no matter how much some Nigerians try to pretend that this is not the case.

Funnily enough, after many Nigerians rush into marriage, they come to find out that the grass is not exactly greener on the other side. The women also come to find out that once they are in their 40s and 50s that their husbands are not faithful to them anymore and are out there looking for tighter, fresher varginas not the ones their wives have which have slacked due to popping out so many babies and too much pounding. The vargina is elastic and after years of pounding by the p8nis and giving birth to an average of 4 children or more, the vargina is bound to slack and no amount of kegel exercise will bring the vargina back to its youthful tightness and exuberance before all the pounding and child bearing.

Should the man die before the woman, society or the in-laws blame the woman. Should the woman give birth to females and no males, society blames the woman. Should anything go wrong in the marriage even if it is the man's fault, society blames the woman. So, no matter what the Nigerian woman does, society is still against her. So, why the rush to go into a life of perpetual bondage? if marriage alone guarantees a better life for the man and woman, then most Nigerians ought to be really wealthy and enjoying life considering the large percentage of Nigerians that are married or are getting married. Sadly, the reality remains that even with all the marrying Nigerians do, many still live and raise their families in abject poverty. That in itself, says a lot.

nice write up.. But may i assert that despite the caconphony that trail many marriages, it is also expedient to assert that it is not symbolic to Nigerian culture only, it occurs everywhere.
In any sodom and gomorah, there will always be a righteous lot and his family. With this post being accessible to the world, there might be negative impressions about Nigerians as regards marriage. There are quite wonderful marriages and to God be the glory, Mine is one.

Once again, nice one.

19 is quite a matured age, there are some parts where primary / jss students marry.
I think its the frenzy that has encapsulated our modern age when unmarried level like unemployment is high, so probably trying to avoid the pitfalls. But if a lady is married on concrete grounds at that age, well i dont think its that bad. Left for me its advisable to marry early. Most of our men aint married because they lack the substance (i.e good job) to sustain one, even though their partners might have the money. Men are naturally retrofitted with the 'head of the family' mentality, so its natural.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Any Near Death Experiences For Islam? by boarnerges: 10:56pm On Nov 19, 2013
Really nice topic OP, i must confess, for you to think and ask this, there must have been questions probably left unanswered. I was once in your shoes. As regards this issue of near death experience (am speaking from personal view); of recent , there have been this buzz of people dying and returning or being in coma and returning with vivid images and stories of seeing beyond time. Am not disputing their claims there might be some element of truth at the same time, falsehood may never be ruled out. From my little knowledge of God, knowing God has always been a personal experience and not a mere public opinion. A perfect example is paul formerly known as saul. There was a contact with the spiritual,a confirmation of the existence of the supernatural (i.e God). Thats why of all apostles, paul was one of the greatest if not the greatest. Why? He had a 'personal contact' with God. Thats why all his epistles are embelished with words of authority because He had a revelation of confidence of the existence of God. Other patriachs such as Abraham, Moses, etc had a personal contact .forget the issue of religion, anyone can have a personal contact with God.
Back to the religion thing, as opined in the elicited reactions, there are muslims, christian and jewish. Now i have heard of many people being appeared unto by Jesus christ or divine contact through dream, visions, dream, trance etc and pointing them to the ancient landmark He left and of course, His finished works but i have not heard anyone being appeared unto by the god of the hindus, or the founder of any religion (sometimes i do think about it;it baffles me) to authenticate their existence in the spiritual realm.
Furthermore, from my little findings, of all religion ever seemed to be founded, the burial place of Jesus is the only empty one...
Am speaking from experience, i wasn't a christian before, but thank God for personal experience.
Remember the two theives on the cross, one had an experience while the other was mocking, 'save yourself'.
So the issue is that, you dont necessary need to be in near death experience to encounter the divine. John the beloved who wrote the book of revelation ( remember he saw the end of the world) is an example.
I pause for now!

I for call you OLODO but I won't be better off cus I was adviced not to answer a fool according to hi s folly lest I be like him.
Genesis 1:26-28
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Matthew 28:19
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
The TRINITY is a mystery(I advice you get a dictionary for this word) but also a revealed truth, would want to give you a detailed lecture but that will be derailing from the topic.
Jesus is God, the spoken word of God made flesh, the same word that has been before time began. Someone asked if God will sacrifice Himself to Himself; common stop literal anologies and seek spiritual guidiance before you utter a word about your maker.

Matthew 24:35 King James Version (KJV)
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my WORDS shall not pass away. Show you the eternity of Christ in union with the father and the holy spirit. Be open minded dude and don't jump into conclusions and to complicate things the more for you my friend;
John 17:21
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Now you can hug a high tension switch tower cuz you can't understand how a being will exist inside another tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue
hello mr pasino26. Good one here but let me assert that we aint here to counter motions, everyone is just dropping His or her idea on this subject matter and all i did was to drop mine too.
The scripture you quoted on 'in the beginning God said, let us make man in our image...our here could imply two, three, thousands and even billions. Remember satan was part of that 'our'. Why dont you undertake a study of the book of reveltions, read between the lines and see where God reveals Himself.

Another interesting post. Pardon me my dear nairalanders if i cause a liitle stare here.
From all the explanations of people who purportedly saw the vision of heaven, one thing is common; Jesus. They all talk about Jesus and nobody seem to talk about Holyspirit or God the father.
Does this not bring us to a thinking junction? I maintain my previous stand as written in my posts, there is nothing like trinity. Its a scheme fro satan to shift human focus from the major to the minor.
JESUS IS LORD.
Religion / Re: Why Do Chriistains Refer To Jesus As God And Son Of God At Thesame Time by boarnerges: 8:02pm On Nov 01, 2013
I stand on my grounds as earlier opined in one of my comments on the religious section. Modern day christaindom is the most confused of all religion, there seem to be a confusion on their deity. 'Jesus is Lord' as quoted in the bible. If Jesus is Lord, then where is the place of 'the father' because Lord means ownership and also the place of the holyghost as in the constellation of the concept of trinity. The trinity has no bases in the bible, it was a pagan doctrine that came in around 325 AD to cloud/subtitute the many gods of the then world power that seeminly adopted christianity as its official religion.
God is one, from the beginning; He came as mechiezedek, as the burning bush, He appeared to abraham in the planes of mamre, He came as fire by night and cloud by day to lead the isrealite, he came in different forms on earth but was still in heaven displaying His ominipotency. To redeem mankind, He came as Jesus christ (JESUS CHRIST MEANS; the self becoming God has become our saviour) . He was both man and God clothed in flesh (son) hence the dictum 'son of God' meaning temple or body of God.thats why He said in One scripture 'destroy this temple and in three days i will raise it up'(talking about his body).
In the book of revelation, the bible talks of one throne in heaven, the same lamb of God becoming the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
JESUS IS LORD, THE FIRST AND THE LAST, HE WHO WAS(SON:dEAD AND WAS RAISED), WHO IS (holyghost, God invisible) AND WHO IS TO COME(the coming judge and king)

hard truth.

Nice thread here i must say. I have also pondered on this for sometime now.
Some times ago, i was chatting with colleagues and telling them of non-tribal inclinations and that i could marry from any tribe in nigeria. All of a sudden, a lady asked 'even igbera girl?' and i asked 'whats wrong with igbera girls?' and they started talking about the probable strong headed nature..to me, an accused is not guilty until proven guilty.
During my service year, i happen to come across an igbera lady; a cool, beautiful and hardworkimg lady i must assert. Sociable, hospitable and just a lady of her kind. I must confess, i do like the lady for her personality. and i asked myself is this lady not an igbera that people always talk about? ( i really do like her)
In most cases, i dont allow the mentality of generally upheld norms to blur my relationship with people, i love them on neutral grounds. Experiences are individual and not generic, no bad tribe exist but 'bad' people do.(notice my quoted bad....not that everybody is a saint though)
please cherish your lady to the best of your ability and let your case prove apologetics wrong. Dont allow upheld norms to becloud your relationship. The outburst of apologetics are just a mere peronal experience. History will keep repeating herself. Once again, cherish your lady within your capabilities.

rudedough: WHY IGBOS ARE EASILY ATTRACTED TO CRIME

[b]An average Igbo man is brought up to be aware of his responsibilities. He is expected to adopt a ‘take charge’ attitude to life and so from childhood he learns as a boy to go out and take risks, get in fights, know his territories, protect it and every other person on it.

Every Igbo man needs no foreign interpretation to know that money is a must have to be recognized in your kindred. The more reason why at a very tender age, some unfortunate parents send their child out to their brother in-law in Lagos to learn trade. Reason not because they don't like their child, but because they want him to have a better life and be respected/recognized in his society.

Our culture does not tolerate poverty. In the eyes of our elders, poverty is seen as a sign of weakness or laziness. This misconception has driven our men to become extremists. Our elders/fathers also do not help matters at all, they like to compete among themselves, not in their child’s intellectual or academic qualifications but over whose child is the richest or drive the most expensive car or built the most luxurious house in the village.

These classification based on how much wealth you have acquired has successfully driven gullible youths into undertaking extreme crimes like this one. Every December, during annual village meeting, when Igbo youths gather in the village from various parts of the world, the talk of who brought back the best cars and who has built the most luxurious house in the village becomes the order of the day. Even some not-yet-wealthy youths travel all the way to the village just to see for themselves what their peers have achieved. This experience psychologically further drive their extremism to greater height.

In this village meeting, poor men (no matter what your academic qualifications are) are made to sit at the back, while "real men" (educated or not) give speech. And when an educated man tries to convey a message, they hurl all kinds of insult at him like "Sit down there, are we discussing grammar here? Is certificate the name of a currency". grin grin My Igbo brothers can testify to this.

Now comes when an Igbo man needs to take a wife, the process and money involved can cripple a multi-national company if care is not taken to recuperate the losses within a certain period of time. Most of my tribesmen never made it back to their feet after their marriage. The truth is, the bride's parents (Most of them) do not care about how their daughter lives with her husband after their marriage. And when they start having kids, the problem escalates and it cripples the business totally, leaving most men to start all over again. Most of our men blame their predicament on some mysterious witchcraft or wizard in the village and the pressure is passed unto one child to another, so the virtuous circle continues.

I don't want to get start-ish on the burial rights. These old men don't care if you are financially stable or not, their brother is dead and he must be buried ASAP. The burial is not the problem here, but having to deal with all sorts of committee telling you their individual rights. One group may demand for 1 cow, 10 tubers of yam, drinks and all sorts of items, another group may ask for something else, believe me, these groups are almost endless. Most Igbo men become indebted after losing their parent, and they sometimes never recover from that financial crisis.

If only my tribesmen could be educated on the danger our tradition possess, we would work to abolish those wrecking customs of ours. I can go on and on and on but maybe my tribesmen could shed some light to what i just said. I am only a youth, maybe i don't know anything, and maybe I’m being too emotional. I would appreciate if someone old enough could enlighten me on our core customs and traditional values.

Igbos are good people, I won’t blame our youths for the crimes they choose to undertake; I’ll blame our elders for putting those stipe traditional customs upon their children.

Until you liberate yourself from such thoughts and ideas and you begin to see everyone else as you, and yourself as everone else, and you show unconditional love to whoever it might be whilst doing the same to other nationalities too, you will never be able to connect to your multi dimensional self..YOU will still be lost...as every other educated African who still searches for the truth, not realising the solution to Africas problem is LOVE.
