Affirmation is democracy. It's like being unopposed. In USA, Presidents coming for a 2nd term are usually affirmed in their party primaries. It does not stop a serious person from wasting his time n resources trying to challenge. It's just a recognition out of respect for someone.

The man is a joker. He even labeled it in his letter that it's a Faction. Why call yourself a faction from the beginning if you believe in what you are doing.
And besides, I thought his tenure as legal adviser ends next month. What next after that apart from obscurity.

If I was just starting of in life I might pick Lagos but if im established I'd prefer the saner,safer environment of Abuja.

No, unless you're established through government corruption that's only when you'll be in Abuja. Virtually all known Nigerian business billionaires are based in Lagos. Dangote, Otedola, Jim Ovia, Elumelu, Adenuga etc. These are people you find in ikoyi and Banana island. Criminal Political rich people are the ones who reside in Abuja. Ex Governors, ex ministers, ex senators, ex head of states etc. People with billions yet have no viable means of income are the ones that populate Abuja.

Abuja, a city with no single manufacturing industry or economic resources, a town that is more of a holiday resort whose only viable activity are hotels and government offices now wants to mingle with Lagos, a city that controls 60% of Nigerias economy, 70% of its financial institutions, 90 % of its port importation, with virtually 100% of its telecoms and banking headquarters.
My dear, Nigeria can do without Abuja any day any time but shut the whole of Lagos down for two days and see the effects it will have on people even in villages in Sokoto.
All the vices found in Lagos are same in big cities. New York is full of go slow, has slums and it heavily congested when compared to Washington but you dare not compare the two cities even in your sleep.

SW is the biggest winner in this present administration. Their men are in strategic positions, they control the economy and gradually all federal assets in lagos are being released to them free of charge. We need a Tinubu in the SE to give us some vision please.

Tinubu is getting wiser by not backing a particular candidate, at least openly. Because the moment he does that there will be a gang up against that candidate. He is better off playing the role of a mediator and god father to all.

That Market is one of the mega causes of go slow on that road and it's better demolished. How can you have a big market that sprawls to a busy highway. The millions of people that use Lagos Abeokuta road everyday know the suffering, time and fuel wastage am talking about.
Next stop should be Meiran market. All markets situated along busy highways in Lagos ought to be demolished or at least pushed back well out of the road. Oshodi used to be like that and unpassable. Now see how nice the road was cleared.

It's simple. Mr Buhari must go with Tinubu for now.

If re-elected he will have the freedom to say again that he belongs to no one.

Oyegun cannot even control his home state of Edo talkless of others. Edo APC was the first to welcome the new party elections.

Then Tinubu must force Buhari to sign agreements this time around before campaign to avoid the fulani viper from taking over all appointments like before.

The writer really makes a lot of sense. Fashola is way better than Ambide in terms of intelligence and in governance.

He might be better than Ambode in terms of intelligence but definitely not governance...nor wisdom.
Intelligence without wisdom is zero. If Fashola was wise he would have known how to avoid such traps and give credit to whom its due. Sometimes your intelligence and degrees without proper application or being street wise mounts to nothing. How can you fall out openly with your political superiors and yet you have no political base to fight them.
That's why I also think Tinubu is wise. When people cried that Buhari has neglected him and ditched him he preserved and today its Buhari that's running back to appease him. Had he gone into open confrontation with Buhari last year they would have finished him off by now.
Same thing with Fashola, he didn't have patience and ran to Abuja to join anti Tinubu forces along with ex Ekiti governor. How do u think u can fight a man that made u governor for 8 years because u think Buhari is now your friend.
But in all they should stop the fight and reconcile. By the mere fact that Fashola came for the birthday shows he wants peace and should have been honored accordingly. It's not too late anyway. It's now up to Tinubu to reach out to him and apologize for that slight.

Future president in whooo? Is that not the man that boasted during campaign that a serious government should fix our power problems in 6 months. And after nearly 3 years he's in charge he is not even anywhere close to it.

Good write up. But just one side of the story. I also learned that since he left as Governor, Fashola never visited Tinubu at least to say thank you for fishing him out from obscurity and making him who he is today. My brother, anybody I make my chief staff for 8 years and make Governor for 8 years and for one day you cannot even come and say thanks or pay homage... I will hate you forever if I can.

We all are human beings, thank a man for the one he has done and he will do more. Even God doesnt share his glory not to talk of feeble human beings like us.
Fashola felt that running to a federal power in Buhari will salvage the situation but it cannot. Why is it out of the many political sons of Tinubu he should be the one having this problem. He Fashola a proud and pompous man.even most of his projects as Governor were elitist.

That not withstanding, I think there should be peace between him Fashola and Tinubu/Ambode. It's a fight taken too far if actually he was purposely snubbed in Lagos. Two wrongs don't make a right. One way this can be done is by Ambode naming an important road in Lagos after Fashola and inviting him to commission it and let by gone be by gone.
