Agriculture / Re: Orji Uzor-Kalu's Mega Farm In Abia State To Cost $400m by Bobbybube(m): 6:52pm On May 30, 2016
larion:
Excellent!

This is wat I want to see, this is what I want to hear.
Nigeria can't feed Africa, talkless of the world. Why can't we just focus on feeding Africa. I mean, everybody in Nigeria, govt, private and individual.....funny enough, Nigerians are copy cat, once it can work for one person, everybody will follow.

We have the land, we have the labour (people), we have the entrepreneurs.... Only thing we need is to get irrigation and storage right. This is why I maintain that this government is not serious they still talking and looking at oil....jokers!

I maintain, it is very easy, very very easy! Only seriousness is needed, let the government get d land, form partnership with experts in Asia.

The goal is to employ, with this Nigerians can be given 3 months renewable contracts. Different operations on the farm, you can start with d lowest pay of 30k monthly, its gonna be like a camp, provide temporary housing and feeding close to the farm....zero accommodation.

With this 30k (for unskilled workers), many youths will troop into sign their first 3 months contract cos they know the won't spend much during the 3 months as accommodation and feed has been taken care of.

Now you also have skilled workers, who will definitely earn more, temporary and permanent workers.

Gbam! All the proceeds goes to the govt or the cooperation involved. This proceeds can all be exported, buyers abroad can have more trust because they have dealing with govt or cooperations, now this proceeds can sell fast and the money reinvested.

Anything and everything that can grow should be planted. We have just 160m people in Nigeria and there are over 6billion in the world, we can't meet the supply. This simply means we can all be employed, I mean everybody in Nigeria including Tinubu and GEJ. No question of it can't go round like our bank and oil jobs.

Federal govt, state govt, local govt....cooperations , everybody should be involved in this, a jobless youth can sign 3 months contract with Enugu state govt, after working the 3 months, he or she moves to kano and sign another 3 months and work. Even if she's a computer science graduate, she can manage this for some time before getting her computer job.

While this is on going, the pressure can be relieved, government can focus on other areas like power, education, health and manufacturing. We'll come back from the farm and notice our power has increased from 4hrs to 12hrs, we'll go to the hospital and realised our health care has improved, all while we were busy

This is very easy, the govt just needs to be responsible. With this, even PDP will not have time for opposition cos they gonna be busy, and Nigerians can copy, once it works, it becomes a fever. We need to wake up! We need to and honestly it has to start from the government!

Your comment is very intelligent. I love your pattern of reasoning.
it is obvious our leaders are confused.. these are practical and affordable options with added advantage of employment and profits.
My question is why the 3-month part time work??

The dollar has increased from 190 to 320.
Generated electricity has dropped from 5000 megawatts till its almost non existent.
Prices of foodstuffs have increased by about 150%.
Transportation by about 70% .
Numerous promises denied and unfulfilled.
Hardship everywhere, poverty on the increase, and now international insults from foreign political figures.

After sleeping in queues for overpriced fuel for many months, they wake up one morning and tell us fuel is #145... upon the fact that fuel is under our soil?

Is this what we wanted when change was voted in?? Do you truly believe that things could have gone this bad under the jonathan government? if no, then we have a duty to make our voices heard. This is no military regime. It cannot be one of the numerous things they do to us and expect us to move on after 2 weeks.

If this is not bad enough, I wonder what is.

[quote author=firstolalekan post=44755688]And why should a male doctor operate on a female patient in the first fûcking place

Why do we have female doctors?

Go to any medical school in this country, the population of female medical students is always 50% or higher to the male's population.

I CAN NEVER ALLOW MY WIFE TO VISIT A MALE GYNECOLOGIST.

WHERE ARE ALL THE FÚCKING FEMALE DOCTORS? [/quote

Another example of a someone with a myopic view.
1: the female doctors in Nigeria are not enough to to cater for one third of gynaecological problems in the nation.
2: You should also advice that gynaecology students should be strictly female simply because the female private part is so sacred that male doctors should not come near.
3: if your wife has complications and the female gynecologist refers her to a male doctor are you also going to stop her because your convinced all male doctors are perverts willing to handle your wife.
4: Are you unaware of lesbianism and female molestation?
Lastly, 85% of women are delivered by male doctors at least once, your mother inclusive. I'm certain your wife will be among

That is nonsense, but let me ask, if per adventure Nigeria distingrate as predicted, who is going to lose? Only wailers. North is the basketmouth of the nation, south west the commercial nerve of the nation, south south also with their oil. Then tell me a single thing the south east will hold unto. Don't let me deceive u, if south east think they want to go because of south south oil, there will be war because south south are also wise now. They know the antics of south east, so will never give in to any amalgamation. It will be sweet if everyone maintain his fathers name but I still believe in entity called Nigeria.

Your comment is totally uncalled for and particularly immature.
The op made a statement about 'Nigeria' and u decided to bring tribalism and bigotry into it.
However, for your information, the south east is the commercial hub of the country with innate business acumen. This is what Turkey and Dubai are virtually based on. Commerce is the best way to drive an economy, and onitsha,Aba and Nnewi are potential "Dubai's".
Secondly, if u aren't aware,Before the oil craze the south east has been and still is producing palm oil. This is what the Malaysian and other Asian economies are based on.
Also, to correct your erroneous notion, the south east has massive oil producing areas still untapped in Abia, Imo and Anambara states.
Any nation, small in size, with agricultural, crude oil and commercial potential is perfectly able to cater for itself especially considering the bulk of professionals at home and in the diaspora.

Religion / Re: What The Bible Teaches About These Five Church Practices by Bobbybube(m): 5:34pm On Mar 13, 2016
I totally agree with your statements, but I would Like to add to two of them.
Firstly, you have rightly pointed out that church wedding is not biblical, and while I agree let me ask. After marrying traditionally (the true marriage) is it wrong to go before God, in the church with fellow brothers and sisters in christ to get wedded if only for ceremonial purposes??

Secondly, I have always known that Christmas( dec 25th) is not the true birth date of christ and has pagan origins. However, it has not stopped me from celebrating xmas. It is a special holiday that I try to enjoy especially as I have no business with its origin as long as there are no present pagan practices. Since it isnt biblical it should be left out of the church though and people should just see it as a period to let off steam and be merry. it shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Please can you tell us of the projects being carried out in Imo state?? Saying that no south-eastern state is experiencing 30% of Imo's ongoing projects is very far from the truth.

Please we want facts and not stories! Give proof of the projects he has carried out and how it is 30% better than other fellow Igbo-speaking states?

Sports / Re: Siasia Explains Why He Left Out Leon Balogun, Ideye, Success against Egypt by Bobbybube(m): 9:08pm On Mar 05, 2016
TheSuperNerd:
Siasia's excuses for the exclusion of Leon and Success are not cogent enough.

Success features in the best league in the world "quality-wise" for the worst team in the league and still has 5goals and 3 assists in 25 games for them.
(The Epl which is the most popular, most followed, and most intense league closely follows the la liga as the 2nd best soccer league on earth).

Granada is a low-quality team in the world best football/soccer league but Success' qualities still shines through. It's about time Success got blooded into the Super Eagles. He offers more "quality-wise" than Fanendo Adi and Aminu Umar (who are both good players too).

Well, with the Likes of Kelechi Iheanacho(Attacking Midfield/Forward "hybrid" role), Victor Moses, Moses Simon, Ahmed Musa, and Odion Ighalo, Nigeria hopefully won't lack goals. The quality in our attack is still more than enough for the Egyptians.

Leon has already featured for The Super Eagles in a couple of games under previous coaches Keshi and Oliseh and was excellent every time he put on the Green and white. He's been excellent as Right-back and under Oliseh he showed great leadership in central defence in the game against Cameroun.

He features for Mainz in the Bundesliga (the world's 3rd best league) in "CENTRAL DEFENCE" and has excelled so far. He played all 90mins when his team shocked Bundesliga champions and currrent table toppers, Bayern munich 2-1 in their own backyard (@Allianz Arena in munich).

He's currently Nigeria's finest central defender in Europe (yes he can play as a rightback too). In fact, he's one of Nigeria's most in-form top 5 defenders in Europe adding all "Capped" and "Uncapped" Nigerian players.....

The others are Kenneth Omeruo (Kasimpasa, Turkey on loan from Chelsea FC, England), Chidozie Awaziem (FC Porto, Portugal), Kingsley Ehizibue (PEC Zwolle, Holland), and William Troost Ekong (Haugesund, Norway on loan from KAA Gent, Belgium).
.........................................................................................

ANYWAY, BREAKING NEWS IS AT LEAST SIASIA HAS HANDED LEON BALOGUN A LATE CALL-UP BRINGING NIGERIA'S FOREIGN PROS FOR THE AFCON DOUBLE-HEADER TO 21.

With the home-based players invited still 22 in number, it's now officially a 43-man squad for the two matches on march 25 and 29.

I totally agree with your assessment. you spoke my mind especially on siasia's useless excuses. I believe the leon Balogun initial drop was a mistake and as typical Nigerians, had to defend those actions.
More importantly, I do not agree with the inclusion of fernando Adi, cos i am convinced the mls is a poor league( imagine Drogba scoring hatricks there) especially when we have success isaac.
Lastly, Who is Aminu Umar? And why should 43 players be invited for 2 games. Is it logical considering the type of games ahead??

Some months ago i wrote an article on why the Deltans are not igbos and should be left out of the Biafram struggle.

Today while watching a Nigerian Movie title " The Meeting Silverbird Cinema "

I watched this, and I noticed the igbo lady trying so hard to make sure that Rita Dominic a Delta woman accept that she is Igbo and not Delta.

Why are igbos this forceful. Deltans say leave them alone and you are still trying to force yourselves.

For clarity sake, Rita Domnic is from Imo state. In the movie however, she is from Delta, but u cannot base your argument on a movie. That is akin to equating yoruba's to fetishism because that is what most movies depict. You should know that a movie is simply one man's idea.

Secondly, Delta is a state comprising of different ethnic groups- Igbo, Urohbo, itshekiri, Yoruba and others. It is wrong for you to say "Deltans" when it is not a single entity. I will not call you Hausa because you are from the north.

Lastly, Igbo people are not trying to force themselves on anybody. The igbo's from Delta are proudly Igbo's. They have obi' s and Igwe's. They practice igbo cultures and traditions and bear Igbo names. They are members of the Ohaneze. Get your facts right!

I kept wondering so this man knows the right thing to do "why asking me to take off my. ..."

This is a typical case of a woman who thinks the world revolves around her
1: She claims she was "sexually harassed" but what exactly was the harassment??
2: A doctor requests to examine your genital region, and the 1st thing that comes to your mind is " sexual harassment " that shows your level of exposure and reasoning.
3: For your information the doctor has the right to examine you below if he feels it is necessary. Most female problems, infections and abdominal pains are linked to their genital region so you can see why he wanted to check.
4: You also have the right to request for a female doctor or a parent.. but you dont have a right to label him a pervert except he tries to cajole you to go against your wish
5: The man pitied you and gave you drugs from he's limited physical but note that an O & G doc sees that everyday...it cannot have any effect on him.

Agubushmenyo:
I am presently working for an IT firm in Ibadan (Upcoming company). We partner with Institutions to train them on IT skills. I am yet to receive a major salary apart from Logistics since december because we are yet to finalize deals with most Institutions.

They rely a lot on my expertise in Marketing so I set the pace for them. Even though things are rough now, but I keep sensing that the future of the company is Bright. We were told that we will be trained in the company on various IT skills so as to help out as Instructors when the deals starts landing. Even though I was told they will pay 50k when the company seals enough deals, but I don't know how long it will take till I start earning that Amount.

Another IT firm in Lagos saw my marketing skills through a client I know, and agreed to pay me 50K excluding movement costs from one place to another, just to do the same thing I do with my present company just that I will be restricted to just marketing.

So I am so confused whether to move to Lagos or to stay with this present company.

Please put your self in my shoes and advice me.

I have just this night and tomorrow morning to accept the offer!! Pleaseeee.

My brother, no body makes it in life without calculated risks. If u want to be a great man, a guru in ur field, if u want 50k to be ur stepping stone; Then u MUST come to Lagos. Because that is where you will make it.
If u stay in ibadan,u are sure of ur job and ur 50k but Lagos offers more. OPPORTUNITY!! However, U must be prepared to be very smart, hard working, and amiable... if not remain in Ibadan where it'll be easy for u.
ps:make sure end things well cos u never know what the future holds.

And who are you going to thank for all the Nigerians the soldiers have massacred? From the women to the infants, peasants to the elderly, young and old? Who are you going to thank for all the defenseless people the soldiers have gone in to murder, in their towns and in the streets, in their homes and in their sleep?
Who are you going to thank for all the unaddressed cases where soldiers who are meant to defend us are killing us like rats, and wiping out ENTIRE villages simply because one of their operatives was killed by unidentified people?

You thank these soldiers for this BARBARIC show they put up here? Believe me, I hate the police MORE than you possibly could, but are they wrong in this case?
Was the soldier right to have parked at an unauthorised area?
People with your attitude encourage dictators, despots and people with zero respect for diplomacy simply because of their posts.
Don't let your emotions you.
The soldiers were WRONG.
I think in this case you are a bit sentimental .
There is no argument that the soldier was wrong to have parked there. The issue is that they wanted to arrest him for that. That is flagrant abuse of power. How can you arrest someone for wrongful parking?
Secondly, I should inform you that officers of the Nigerian army are not bound by civil law. The police man had no locus for arresting him.
Lastly, he insulted the officer and the army too for no singular reason . This is the same army dying in Borno and fighting without weapons.

I believe the police man disrespected and disregarded him; and did not behave like a gentle man officer of the Nigerian police force. He deserved what he got.

Politics / Re: How Nigeria Must Deal With Biafra - Cramjones by Bobbybube(m): 1:16pm On Jan 30, 2016
cramjones:
I have keenly observed the current events that have led to the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the self-proclaimed leader of the Biafran movement. I have mixed reactions to the events that have transpired and have communicated my thoughts to the Nigerian Presidency. I will attempt elucidating my thoughts here.

1. I am of the opinion that the call for Biafra is legitimate: Firstly, Biafra existed before Nigeria was created. It was made up of people with similar cultures and language (with majority tribe being Igbo). It is perfectly legitimate for the original inhabitants of the country to yearn to have back their country and resources under their control. However, I do not believe that Biafra is a viable solution at this time.

2. During the Biafran war it is estimated that at least 1 million people of largely Igbo extraction were killed! This is no doubt in mind a genocide. However, the Nigerian government has made a fundamental mistake by:

a. Not recognizing it ever took place, or playing down the number of those that died for political reasons, only serve to fuel violence and the call for secession.
b. They have also made a major mistake by not even having a memorial day to remember those that died during the genocide - This action alone will give a sense of belonging and would foster a deepened National unity.

3. If the government does not look into the creation of a true federation whilst implementing its pseudo-federalism, and pretend that a genocide never took place, then the dissolution of Nigeria or even the metastasis of the Biafrian movement becomes inevitable.

4. Despite the premise I have laid out, I still do not think a Biafran state is viable. This is why

i. The Eastern Goverments are fundamentally corrupt; A visit to present day Imo and Abia will attest to the corruption and rot that have plagued the region. These leaders have all FAILED to develop the east with the resources given to them. If they had made the East the "dubai" of Nigeria, everyone including the international community would have taken the cry for Biafra serious. The argument would be if the "Biafran leaders" can develop their region with the "little" resources given them, it is only fair they secede and do even more for their people and their region. However, this is not the case. A Biafran state will only lead to another mini civil war, and a fight for resources and wealth among Biafrans.

ii. Since 1970 when the war ended the geo-political dynamics of the Biafran region has changed. For example the people of Rivers would not want to be part of a country where their individual tribes become a minority. Same will go to Akwa Ibom etc. This will then lead to a disintegration of the original Biafran state, and would lead to a battle for resource control.

iii. If the above happens, Biafra would essentially be a landlocked country, and this can lead to an invasion and fight of Rivers, in order to fight for port control, oil revenue etc. Igbos will definitely need the ports since most of them are international business men, and won't afford to pay regions like Rivers for all the billions of dollars of imports that takes place in the region.

In summary, an eventual Biafran state through a peaceful referendum will lead to a situation worse than South Sundan.

Way forward:

1. President Buhari MUST as a matter of urgency look into the white paper of the national conference and work assidiously with congress to make sure he implements true Federalism.

2. We must as a matter of urgency accept that at least 1 million Igbos where killed and establish a day to remember these precious lives that were gone. We must go a step further to make sure we teach this history to our kids, and not ban it from being tought in schools.

3. If the Federal government treat the Biafra issue with kids gloves, we may have something worse than Boko Haram in our hands.

4. Release Nnamdi Kanu immediately! Sit down with him and lay out your plans to resolve this issue. It would be a disservice to the Igbo people to compare the rise of Boko Haram with this present agitation, but history has thought us that as dynamic and complex Nigeria is, we MUST as a matter of urgency address the agitation of the Biafrans, before it metastasize to a problem bigger than Nigeria. A stitch in time saves nine!

Personally, I have shared these thoughts to my friend and brother Femi Adeshina with the hope that he would communicate this to P.M.B.

It is my hope that this does not destroy our country in our very eyes.

Although I stumbled on this thread quite late; I must say that it mirrors my exact opinions... especially on the aspect of Igbo leaders.
85% of the leaders of the Igbo nation.. mostly governors are so corrupt and unpatriotic.
Till the igbo's have a true leader of the people, charismatic, patriotic and unselfish ; Biafra is not only unattainable but undesirable

The governor suspended 3000 workers without pay for no singular reason.
Issued a directive that there shall be no more employment
Has incapacitated the general Hospital after instructing medical personnel to go home
Oweing workers over 6 months salary..pensioners are the worst

Infact.. the whole state has been crippled and everyone is suffering. Other governors are working yet he keeps looking for excuses. it's a pity for ndi-imo
