Oga, you obviously did not follow news in 2013-2015.

Otherwise, you would know why people were in IDPs, how BH took over over almost a quarter of Borno and Yobe after killing people and chasing away communities.
I sent you a PM Sir. I'd appreciate if you kindly respond. Thank you.

Where was this useless entity called "Niger Delta Ijaw Development and Response Assembly" when Ijo sons who were appointed to lead the entity embezzled almost every kobo sent to the NDDC? The only things "Creating bad blood and unnecessary ethnic enmity amongst the staff in the Commission" are the foolish insinuation and arrogation of err of personality by the Ijo in the commission. In fact, most of the ijo peeps have stark ignorant knowledge of what constitutes Niger Delta. This is type of nuisance a society encounters when goons have poor knowledge of their environment.

You don't have to quote the whole post!!!

What do they mean by MOTIVATION LETTER AND CONTROL SHEET MUST BE PREPARED BY THE APPLICANT AND BEAR THE DATE OF ISSUE AND ORIGINAL SIGNATURE OF THE APPLICANT.....

They mean you should write a letter of motivation, and sign it yourself attached to the documents you're posting to them. Data control sheet is your CV. Took God's inspiration to quickly decode that..I noticed CV was sha missing until I checked that area well.

Thank you OP for such a wonderful platform. I just gained admission to study Medicine and Surgery in UNIJOS. I am currently a 200 level student of Biochemistry in one of the state universities.
I had been contemplating whether to switch over to MBBS or obtain the Biochemistry degree first. What is your take on this?

Secondly, please I'd like to know how expensive studying MBBS really is, in terms of the textbooks and all. Thanks
You're still in 200L, you've not gone far. Drop it and start MBBS. I wasn't that lucky. My admission came when I was completing 500Level Biochemistry, so I had to finish normal b4 starting dentistry

DrBESTJC:
Hello Friends and My bosses here...

This is seriously what I never espected...I have never even given a thought to failure all this while...All my struggles, sleepless nights(studying),prayers, mindset and even the very air I breathe everyday of my preparations were all channelled towards SUCCESS . Imagine,I was so convinced that I will get admission to study MEDICINE this year that I have bought my school bag and some other things.

When my JAMB results were released this year(2018),I was very happy and elated when I saw 303 as my score.I continued to study and prepare for the UI PostUTME with zest. When the results were released, I saw 73 as my PostUTME score and 74.375% as my aggregate score.I was sad and worried because my target score is not less than 90. When I remembered that UI cutoff mark for medicine last year(2017) was 71.88% , I kept my fire of hope burning...but not without serious prayers and fasting.

Now,the cutoff mark for medicine this year has been pegged at 76.5%, and as you can see, I am just like 3 marks away from the cutoff mark.Since yesterday when I saw the cutoff marks,I have not been able to sleep. It is very very painful.

But friends,I am not here to ask you to pity me...no no no....This is my 4th failure since I started to pursue MEDICINE and I have learnt to brace up and struggle harder after each failure,....No matter what people will say..... I am writing this to seek counsel and sincere directions on my next line of action because I believe that a problem shared is half solved. Now,my questions are :

1) Since my score is high enough to get another course, I am thinking of doing a COC to courses that will allow me cross to medicine in year two like biochemistry, human Nutrition and physiology....but I heard that those courses are not advertised on the COC.....Is it true ?

2) What other courses can I go for apart from the aforementioned ones ?

3) If after accepting any other course, can I stay in the university(UI) and write JAMB and PostUTME again in the same UI in 2019? .... Can I abandon my present course then and accept admission to study medicine in the same University of Ibadan?

4) If I should decide not to accept any admission UI will offer me whatsoever(because my passion is seriously tied to medicine), do you think (from experience) that I will be able to study well if I get a job and come back for jamb next year?...The job will take like 8hours of my time everyday.I cannot just stay at home studying for a whole year idle...an besides nobody is willing again to give me any money for anything until I enter school, not even for jamb....because my people have given up on me.

5) Also on the Job issue,I am planning to buy a laptop and an android phone from my savings, but I am thinking of how I can convert it into a good source of income. Please friends,I am alone in the world now... I need to survive. What genuine and profitable online business can I do in my part time to make ends meet ? ......I have heard that students can work online and earn a decent pay,but I don't know much about it.If you are into any one of them,I would like to have your contact...

Please save a soul today.!

1. About COC, most times, Courses in the college of medicine are almost filled up by merit. Thats why you might not see those courses listed there.
However, There is a chance of you being offered these courses even without doing COC. But, it is advisable you do the COC. Among the courses you'll find there, choose the one u feel okay with.
2. Most times, COC brings courses like Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, some courses in Agric too.
3. You cannot matriculate in UI and apply for admission to UI again. It's either you forfeit whatever is given to you and apply again to UI next year (WHICH I WON'T ADVISE) or settle for what you're given now and prepare for next year's admission to another school... People have given suggestions on that so I won't repeat them.
4. If you can effectively manage your time and job, I don't think anything stops you from getting a job to sustain your finances for now. However, it's left to you. If the job leaves you little or no time to read, I'd suggest you don't pick it.
5. I don't have much ideas on that.. but I'm sure someone will help out.

In conclusion bro, ensure you build mental toughness. It will give you a psychological edge that will enable you to remain focused and confident in high pressure situations like this.

God bless you.

pls,i need a medical student(esp in ui) to clarify me on this.what is the chance of a physiology or human nutr student with very high cgpa to be accepted into mbbs if he wish to cross in 200l.
cuz, someone said that it's somehow impossible.most esp if there were no available space in the mbbs department..and that one also need connection for it.
pls how true is it.and, i need someone to clarify and enligthen me on this...

About crossing, Yes. There are spaces available for students to cross from physiology, biochemistry and human nutrition to Medicine and Dentistry.

As it is with normal admission, there will be allocation for merit and connection.

So, assuming there are 10 spaces for crossing, they can allocate 5 to merit and 5 to man-know-man.

The competition is usually fierce and it is advisable you don't bank too much on merit because 10 students might show up with 4.00 CGPA. So what will they do?.

Do your best on your CGPA and ensure you have someone backing you.

UI doesn't make use of O'level in getting your aggregate score.
As at last year,, it was the sum of jamb/eight plus postutme/2

Hello everyone. Please i need an advice of some sort.i hv always loved health sciences and hv been gunning for medicine or nursing but was offered civil engineering of whch am 3yrs gone. I tried switching several times bt all to no avail. Recently tho, i played with a school of nursing form and as God would hv it i was admitted to resume oct/nov. Now i'm faced with the deliema of either dropping the B. Eng prog for the Rn prog or continuing with the B. Eng prog and fore going the Rn prog. Plsss what do u suggest i do

Firstly, i don't want to believe that you chose MBBS and you were "given" Civil Engineering.
they are two fields apart with different utme requirements.
3 years into your B.Eng program, i won't suggest you drop out of it. As much as possible, ensure you complete the degree. when you're done, if you still have the drive, continue to apply to the medical sciences.

Over the past fours years, I've been a strong admirer and a follower of this thread..

Here, I met a lot of personalities whom their words had been a source of encouragement in my staunch pursuit for a place in the Medical school.

The founding fathers of this thread in Lagusta, Josh, Ashashacash, DrHesjay and a host of others with their constant contributions deserve mentions.

Bobola07, TheHistorian, and many of whom I met on Ibadan's thread deserve mentions also. If I drop my former monicker, I believe many of you would accede with me that its been a long way coming.

I'm happy for you man. so so happy.
congratulations. may the Lord see us through.
