Bosses in the house please i need your urgent help.

Initially i applied for political science, buh my agg.score does not merit the course cut off,so i changed to adult.edu with 57.75 as my aggregate score, buh uptil now am yet to see any slight changes on my CAPS and jamb admission status.
So i'm now thinking of purchasing UI DLC form and apply for political science which is my dream course.

My questions now is that:
is the form still on sale?
If yes,how much is the form?
When are they going to resume for 1st semester?
Will i be able to print Jamb admission letter too?

Thanks for your replies in advance.

Bro, i will advice you pick another jamb form and apply political science. peace!

I know this is my year. Team bds. Please what was the cut off for dentistry last year??+jamb and o level

welcome on board bro.

dentistry merit cutoff for 2017 was aggregate of 66.25

o'level requirement; at least C6 in maths, eng, phy, chem, bio at 1 sitting.

as per jamb, a minimum of 200 qualifies you to write the postume, while a minimum of 50% in the postume qualifies you for admission into anywhere.

the aggregate is obtained by adding (jamb/eight)+(postume/2)
so you know you need to get more than 200 and 50% in utme and post utme in order to stand a good chance at dentistry. wish you the best.

Passed out of laspotech with a upper credit from department of SLT. I Want to study Chemistry at the university of benin through Direct Entry. I just want to know how to go about it, my chances and what I need to do to get in as people usually tell me it's difficult. Looking forward to you guys helping me out here. Thanks!
Cc lalasticlala Mynd44 Seun. help me move it to front page abeg.

Dunno for Uniben

I'll suggest you try FUTA. You have a very good chance to get into industrial chemistry at FUTA.

direct entry admission might be a bit tough because the admission slot is usually small (10% of total quota), compared to d number of applicants.

IF IT'S POSSIBLE, YOU CAN ALSO APPLY UTME TOGETHER WITH DE. It will boost your chances.

A billion likes for whoever constructed this. This was what changed my view about dentistry. Wow! I felt I would be such an ingrate not to commend the post that has made me fall in love with dentistry.
After reading this, I went online and I've read at least 100 articles relating to this noble profession.

I picked it in JAMB last year haven't been admitted yet. My JAMB CAPS status still says "Admission in Progress, Check back later".

Once more, thanks to the writer of this article. God bless you abundantly. Amen.

P.S: I came across this post around May, 2017 ; but didn't comment because of the following reasons:
1. I was a silent follower
2. I was new to nairaland
3. Had no account
And when I finally had, took me time to learn how to quote. (Lol. Don't really know if the explanation was necessary )

My greetings to all dental students across the country.

bless u bro.
welcome aboard.

which skul did u apply to last year? do u plan to retry dz year?

If I am correct , u couldnt get mbbs, xo u want solace by going for BDS since it isnt competitive....

U only need to be enlighten.

Dentistry is too good for u to see it as second fiddle to medicine, in fact the only different is that BDS specialise on everything relating to head and neck at undergraduate level while MBBS specialise at residency.

I should av been in 400L BDS, but its not wat I wanted just like I never wanted law or engineering. And it doesn't make law an inferior course.

Go for BDS and love it or hustle for MBBS if u wont be happy.

Hoping to cross back to mbbs might break your heart in the end....

People dont just know that studying dentistry is studying medicine.

Aside O and G and psychatric , no other different.

Mind u, even as an mbbs student, I dont see masef specialising in O and G and psychatric.

hello docs in the house pls am an aspirant of dentistry and dental surgery, pls I just want to ask about crossing from dentistry to medicine after graduation because I ave once seen it on this thread and also has anyone seen any dentist crossing to become a medical doctor, thank you.

after too obtain your BDS degree, you can switch to MBBS by undergoing a 1½ year program after which you will be awarded MBBS your BDS will be withdrawn.
On the other hand, switching from MBBS to BDS requires a 3 year dentistry clinical program.

I'm very sure there are Pple that have done this, though I've not met any yet.

Jamb doesnt adopt the use of negative marking. Negative marking is meant for serious exams like MB Professional exam.

But Jamb questions do not carry equal marks. Some questions are 1 mark while some are up to 4 marks.

First statement sent some shivers down my spine..

For the person to have applied initially for Yoruba Education, he/she must be an art student. So, he/she should consider that as a mix up. Its only Proper to reject the admission (That is; if its offered) and complain at the nearest jamb office for rectification.

I wonder what an art student will do with an admission spot for MBBS.

Hello,

1. Admission into MBBS everywhere is tough and highly competitive. This is an absolute truth. So, irrespective of the school you choose, you must work super-hard to get in.

2. Anyway, I'd suggest you choose UniAbuja in your application.

3. Making such a heavy change in your career simply because of your WASSCE result wasn't a good idea. The resource and stress you put in this your B. Tech program would have been invested in another attempt...or something else. The objective is not to "leave home quickly" but to "leave home when you've gotten what you want...or something close to it.."

4. Just to add, could you please try writing in full? It was pretty hard reading through your post up there.

5. Good luck.

Thank you for the eye opener bro. Uniabuja considers all states of the federation as catchment area; just like UI. i'd suggest he checks out UNIJOS, UNILORIN and ABU and decide which one he is going for. They are specific for kogi as part of their catchment area.

How is studies Sir?. i will send you a PM.

But biochemistry wasn't part of the COC list

How come you were able to get it?

GentleGrace1, can you answer this?

fashmann, my own guess is that maybe instead of mbbs (probably what she initially applied for), she was directly given biochemistry, without a need for change of course.

GentleGrace1:
Please what does this mean and how do I go about it? Is it because I did coc?

You Must Apply for Change of Course/Institution before Printing your Admission

Thanks in advance. Answer needed urgently tho.

hello. let me explain one or two things to clarify this matter.

1. the COC u did on UI portal will not reflect on your CAPS portal. so if u initially applied mbbs and u did COC to biochemistry, mbbs will still be on your CAPS portal.
2. before you can print your admission letter, your CAPS portal must be updated with the course you did COC to or which you were admitted for. you can get that done at any cybercafe; or from your personal computer; if you are conversant with the running of the jamb site. Changing your course on jamb CAPS portal costs #2500.
3. when that is updated, you can then proceed to print your admission letter.

cheers!!!!!!!

Is there any hope or chances for those that did coc and reach the course cut off but are not yet to be admitted on caps?

Thanks.

Bro, COC doesnot have cutoff. you have to understand that. its a factor of how high your scores are plus how connected you can be. meeting the merit cutoff of the course you did COC to doesnt guarantee admission. you just have to be more prayerful, and if u know anyone that knows anyone, please make use of your links.

Biochemistry
Biological Science(s)
Biology
Botany
Chemistry
Microbiology
Physics
Zoology

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Preference isn't given to any particular course. perhaps one should focus instead on getting a very good grade (a first class, or a strong second class upper). However in the list of courses you gave, Physics isn't accepted for direct entry to MBBS

I know it's an opportunity. But to all yet to be admitted, don't blame me. And to all admitted, hope to meet you next year.
Remember the name.

Bro, a bird at hand is worth two in the bush.
Though i do not know why you have decided to ignore the offer but i will advice you Accept your admission, and apply for 2018 UTME. That's probably the safest step you can take. However, if you're convinced you want to go the way you posited, I wish you the very best.
