BusinessRe: Nigeria’s Excess Crude Account Down To $2.45 Billion by bodsibobo(m): 8:09pm On Jan 17, 2015
Billyonaire:
Excess Crude Account (ECA) is different from External Reserve Account (ERA).

The purpose of the Excess Crude Account is for deposits of funds in excess of the budgetory benchmark i.e when the price of crude oil is beyond the budget price. And the function of that Excess Crude Account funds is to cushion the effect of inflation and marginal fluctuation difference in the event of lower price of crude. This is the account that Rotimi Amaechi of APC has been fighting the Presidency to share the money to Governors.

Right now, we should be grateful to Ngozi Iweala for the wisdom to retain the funds, because it is the funds that's used to stabilize the naira, ordinarily, Naira is supposed to lose three-quarter (3/4) of its value, from say 160 to a dollar to 400 to a dollar due to the current fall in price of crude oil to 3/4 of its price. But na this Excess Crude funds that we are using to stabilize the naira in the FX market. We also touch this money to take buy military hardwares that were not budgeted for during the 2014 budget etc.

I supposed keep quiet but I have to inform the illiterate APC goons that we know their stock in trade. Their job is to shout out of ignorance.
@Kobo o naire

So your postulation above justifies the rate at which the account is plunging........God, you Janathanians make me sick.

Help yourself and read olapluto's post above!!!

chisos!!!!!!!

This dastardly administration of cluelessness and ineptitude headed by Jona has no part two. I truly wish them to finish the money in the account and we'll see where they'll turn to........maybe he'll ask CBN to start printing naira en mass....like Idi Amin of Uganda in the days of yore.
PoliticsRe: Oduah Won't Respond To Certificate Forgery Allegations, Aide Says by bodsibobo(m): 3:53pm On Jan 09, 2014
mad nigerian: Let's step back for a moment and look beyond Oduah.

Back during the days of millitary rule, we knew that the act of army rule was illegal, yet we could not get rid of the army because many Nigerians (from the North)saw them as 'our sons and daughters in power'.

Likewise, when Alams was caught by the UK in money laundering, most Bayelsans declared him innocent and accused Obasanjo of teleguiding the Birtish police(As if the often racist Brit police would take orders from a black man!).

In 1999, the then VC of University of Jos was about to be removed for corruption.....but his kinsmen raised a stinker and said 'no , he is our son'.

And recall Yerima and the underaged bride....supported by hundreds of Zamfara women.

The thing is, in Nigeria, we are not really interested indealig with corruption. Because we are all beenfiting. Today, Stella is being defended by Igbos..because.....

Sadly, in Nigeria, the corrupt elite uses our sense of tribal solidarity to manipulate us into supporting evil. Meanwhile, we suffer the effects of a bad economy......and we cannot stop and say.....Get rid of these bad people.

All those Igbos defending Stella because of one airport, and Orji Kalu because he 'stood up to Obasanjo'.....have no light, few jobs and bad roads...and zero developemt, especially in the rural areas. For decades, the mass of Northerners defended army rule because of theoir brothers, and today, the North is a BIG mess. Yoruba AD supported OBJ in 2003...and much of Yorubaland is in poverty. And at state level we support looters in power....and wonder why we do not have development.

I wonder why Nigerians support such people without character, why Northern leaders eleven years ago went to kneel down and beg for the freedom of the son of a man who was involved in helping his father loot Nigeria dry, why corrupt Governors and senators continue to roam free , and people who ask honest questions are called liars and islamists.

I think that somehow Nigerians are not a people of good character. People of good character do not defend liars. I miss Prof Nnaji..who had the good character to resign once he was accused of corruption. The sad thing is that in Nigeria, we do not support good leaders. We do not even want development. We only want to chop oil money......and we raise a stinker if we do not get our share on time.

Nigerians awake!
May God bless you abundantly.

This had been my line of thought right from when I started reading this thread. I was just too disenchanted to type it.

I mean, has this country really turn to this, where people support a wrong thing because the offender is from my place? Haaaa! With this kind of mentality there's no hope for this country.

I am Yoruba but anytime I talk about these things I condemn any erring politician or leader not caring where he comes from even if he's from my hometown. What is bad is bad. Haba!!!!

PoliticsRe: Obasanjo's Letter Is An Attempt To Instigate A Coup - Afenifere by bodsibobo(m): 9:21am On Dec 31, 2013
I beg to disagree with you on this one. So long as Nigerians are hungry, coup will always succeed in Nigeria. Though I for one do not subscribe to it, however, the manner in which the current president has handled the affairs of the nation has no doubt sent the right signals to the exotic coup plotters to start thinking what next!

Nigerians love life too much so any bullet, followed by Ghana must go will silent their mouth forever cool.

I have said it here repeatedly, if GEJ continues with His die hard posture come Q1 2014, by Q2 2014, GEJ will be history as far as Aso rock is concerned and average Nigerians will not pity Him.

His greatest undoing was to polarize Nigeria along ethnic and religious line. Never has Nigeria been this polarized and I pray never again will it be.
These were my exact points in an argument with an aunty yesterday..........and there will not be any "I didn't have any shoes..." sentiments this time around!
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo's Letter Is An Attempt To Instigate A Coup - Afenifere by bodsibobo(m): 9:18am On Dec 31, 2013
Either by coup or national conference, Nigeria need to be re-structured or dis-integrated and any of the above will surely foster it. Nigeria av reach it peak, no need to pretend about our unity, we are not meant to be together. So obj should come up with anything, he is welcome.

Even on Nairaland, we disrespect ourselves, insult and abuse each other, forgetting there are many citizens of SA and other countries on the forum, yet we want them to respect ushuh? Very laughable! Hahahaha

I have lived and worked in several African Countries and I'm a member of many social forums like Nairaland in other countries, you never see the kind of curses, abuses, threats, insults etc as you see on Nairaland (yet among fellow Nigerians) so it's surprising the same abusive people now want respect from other countries.......

Truly, we need to get ourselves right first as a nation.

If I had my way, I will beat all of you fighting yourselves because of these looters. These looters are looting us dry while we are here fighting ourselves. ARE WE ALL MAD? cry cry cry

Jonathan and his group just looted 8 trillion naira as if na 8 kobo, this same Jona budgeted 4.8 trillion for 2013 but the job he has done is less than 4.8 billion. Fashola budgeted about 500 billion for 2013 year but the job he has done is less than 5 billion. Stella Oduah and her 225 million BMW is now old story. The supreme court just said Bode George is a saint, Faruk Lawal is still calling himself honorable, Otedola is still eating and dinning with the president. Bola Tinubu us still walking free on the street and calling himself Yoruba leader. Alao akala is still denying that he is bleaching. Gbenga Daniel said he is the only saint in Ogun state. Doyin Okupe said Jonathan is our Mandela. Universities were shut for about 5 months. Sanni Yerima just got another under-aged wife. impatience Jonathan has changed her name to Mama Peace Piss without court affidavit while still fighting an elected governor. Obasanjo has turned saint over-night. 1000 snipers are currently in training for 2015 election. Al-Mustapha is now our new hero. More and more almajaris are evolving everyday in the north. It is the same story for all the politricians and we are here because we are jobless and our new job now is to be fighting and defending these looters. Could it be that these looters are also using juju on us or are we all mad ni ke? cry cry

FamilyRe: 10 Reasons Not To Get A Divorce - Read & Have A Rethink by bodsibobo(m): 9:38am On Oct 19, 2012
Dear Timijo,

Honestly I also say that your views and analysis of the topic is one sided and myopic. I have a friend who is seriously considering divorce and he really wants the easiest way out for all parties. Upon review of his over ten (10) years marriage, he concluded that he never loved his wife. He was introduced and matched with his wife by an Aunty to whom he could not refuse.

He has over the years only just played along to satisfy his uncles, aunties, parents etc.

Now over ten years down the line he has seen so many traits in the woman he can not continue to put up with. The wife is lazy, not ready to work, unable to keep the house clean and tidy, and you know the worst thing, this attitude runs through the wife's family and all her sisters exhibit the same traits. Shame! He has not kissed, not to talk of have sex with, his wife for over a year! He is not excited going back home after work so he hangs out at bars to drink till 12 midnight before getting home. Mind you they have two lovely kids but the guy says he's not just attracted to the woman one bit anymore.

He's my very good friend and there's so much he tells me and even me I pity him in his misery!

I remember my brother once tell me that the only thing worse than being in prison, is being in a wrong marriage that is not working.
