What are the conditions sir?
During landing and take off, no visitors are allowed.
When on the ground and engines are not running, it's at the discretion of the captain but regulations vary from by airlines though.

At the end of the day, it's the common man that will suffer adversely by the time the whole country grinds to a halt, markets don't open and food stocks start running out. Then the populace will turn against the nlc.

Strike actions in the 21st century is outdated.

Cool
Her 3 yellow bars suggest that she is at least a First Officer, or captain?
She's a first officer as shown in the pictures.
Four bars is captain.
A first officer with three bars is senior to a first officer with two bars.

A question for those in the know: I thought one needed to log some serious hours before they could graduate to bigger aircraft?
Yes, after getting a commercial pilot license, you get a type rating for the equipment you would like to fly. You can log hours in the Sim.

Its not easy to be where she is now. As there are few women in the industry.
but people should verify info b4 posting.
she is a first officer also called co-pilot (3 stripes)and not a Capoo(Captain- 4 stripes). She flies under a senior pilot (captain)
her picture with 2 stripes- when she was second officer officer.

Stripes - the gold coloured bands on their shoulder.
Errm...
Two stripes doesn't mean she's a second officer oh.
A second officer is the third in command for a long haul flight.

New first officers who just join an airline start with two bars, then it becomes three as the years roll by before becoming a captain. (four bars)

Just thought to correct that.

TravelInternational Airlines Operators In Nigeria Earn N302bn From Ticket Sale In 2015 by Boeing777pilot(op): 9:10pm On May 06, 2016
International Airlines Operators in Nigeria Earn N302bn from Ticket Sales
2 By Chinedu Eze

Airlines that operate international destinations from Nigeria made over N302 billion ($15 billion) from ticket sales in 2015. The airlines included European mega carriers, US carriers, African and indigenous operators.

Among the major carriers emirates earned the highest money of N50 billion, followed by British Airways with ticket sales of N48 billion during the period.

Also, Air France sold tickets worth N26 billion, Virgin Atlantic Airways, N16 billion, Ethiopian Airlines, N23 billion, Lufthansa, N17 billion, Delta Air Lines, N17 billion, United Airlines, N15 billion, KLM, N16 billion, Qatar Airways, N12 billion, South Africa Airways, N9 billion and Turkish Airlines N11 billion.

A total of 31 airlines including the indigenous carriers, Aero Contractors, Arik Air and Medview Airline operate international and regional destinations.
There are airlines such as African World Airlines, Air Cote d’ Voire, Alitalia, Asky Airlines, Cam Air, Egypt Air, Etihad Airways and Iberia.

Other airlines include Middle East Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, Rwanda Air Express, Saudi Airlines, Sudan Airways and Kenya Airways.

Industry experts said that comparatively the 2014 ticket sales was more than that of 2015 by a slight margin but there would be a gulf in the amount of tickets sold in 2015 and the tickets that would be sold this year because of Nigeria’s ailing economy and the sudden increase in fares by foreign airlines which discourages travel.

Records from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has already shown that there are fewer aircraft movement in the early part of this year compared to that of last year; the same with the passenger movement in the same period.

FAAN’s historical passenger traffic showed that 2011 to 2014 had the highest number of passenger movement, which began to slide in 2015 and is predicted to decline further in 2016 due to the economic downturn.

For example, the domestic terminals of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos processed over four million passengers in 2014, while it processed over three million passengers in 2015.

Also, the international wing of the airport processed over three million passengers in 2014, while it processed about two million passengers in 2015. The drastic drop was attributed to the fears and uncertainties that characterised the 2015 election.
“There is going to be a significant slide because you can see that one of the biggest carriers that come to Nigeria, BA has changed their equipment from Boeing B747 to Boeing B777 and I just learnt that they are going to drop a frequency in Lagos from seven times a week to six times a week. How many people are going to be travelling with this low value of the Naira?” a source said.

Also industry observer, Simon Tumba supported the view that less tickets would be sold this year because many parents whose children and wards are studying abroad have withdrawn them because of the high exchange rate to the Naira and government recently announced that top government officials would no more fly business class.

“Businesses are yet to pick up; everybody is talking about the budget, so it is about the law of supply and demand; definitely less tickets will be sold this year, Tumba said.

As a guy from a wealthy background, I can relate with what you are experiencing(if you are telling the truth oh) . For me, I keep a very low profile and don't tell them where I work , so I'm just any ordinary guy. Anyone who approaches me already knowing who I am, is treated as a suspect. So far that has worked for me.

@boeing777pilot I'll be starting my cpl course at mbsf south africa soon. After that ill like to move to pea in u.s to do my instructor course so that I can instruct and get more flight then do d jet type rating and atpl. I'm hoping to fly for emirates its always been my dream. I understand a person needs 3000flight hours to get a first officer job. It sounds almost impossible or should I say not achievable in a short time (not unless ill fly to moon and back lol) pls I need your guide and advice.
Lol, it appears you have your career path outlined and that's an important part. The truth is minimum hours for first officers varies with airlines with some requiring as high as 5,000 grin my advice to you is focus on clearing your cpl at the first time of asking. You can also build hours in the Sim too though I don't know which route is faster. Patience and consistency is key.

112. There is an exclusive club called the "Mile High Club".

"Club meetings" are usually held in the rest rooms of aircrafts or in secluded parts on board while the aircraft is airborne. grin

Why do some passengers have headache when they are on a plane? I usually do during descent
Usually caused by changes in cabin pressure during take-off and landing.

I dont care about your profession. You quoted my post and mis represented it. You dont get to have a certain authority over a topic because of your alleged profession if you are wrong and you dont need to be an English professor to understand it.

I said planes can land themselves now. You are talking about pilot input in the process. That isnt the point i was making and i asked you, if someone says plays can fly by themselves, does that automatically mean pilot's role in setting it to auto pilot is irrelevant therefore the statement is untrue?

I still dont get what you are driving at exactly.
*sigh * we obviously aren't on the same page.
TravelRe: Random And Interesting Travel Facts World's Travellers Probably Dont Know. by Boeing777pilot: 7:29pm On Apr 29, 2016
Missy89:
Lol and auto pilot helps automate the flying process that doesnt mean planes can fly by themselves because the automated process must be subject to pilot action. I still dont see your point. Are we debating semantics now?
I'm a pilot and not an English is professor.
According to you, with auto land plane can land themselves and I'm telling you that planes don't land themselves with autoland . Auto land as used in that context doesn't mean that planes can Land themselves literally as you appear to suggest.
TravelRe: Random And Interesting Travel Facts World's Travellers Probably Dont Know. by Boeing777pilot: 7:13pm On Apr 29, 2016
Missy89:
I never said pilots imputs are not required.I said planes can auto land. If planes can fly themselves does that mean pilots inputs are not required for autopilots?
For the avoidance of doubt, auto land helps to automate the landing process that does not mean that planes can land by themselves because the automated process must be subject to pilot action.
TravelRe: Random And Interesting Travel Facts World's Travellers Probably Dont Know. by Boeing777pilot: 6:49pm On Apr 29, 2016
Missy89:
The point is that planes can not only fly by themselves they can also auto land. That is a fact
Which Commercial plane can auto land ma?

By its self without input from the pilots?

Just so you know, I'm a pilot and I fly the Boeing 777 but I'm willing to learn.
TravelRe: Random And Interesting Travel Facts World's Travellers Probably Dont Know. by Boeing777pilot: 6:31pm On Apr 29, 2016
Missy89:
planes can even land themselves now. the only reason pilots land it is for insurance/liability and union purposes
Errm, that's not technically correct.
Plane can technically fly themselves on auto pilot once they reach cruising altitude but during the approach and descent as well as take off human input is required.

Besides, even if it's on auto pilot, the pilots have to be alert to respond to any emergency.

Even though, we have state of the art aircrafts, the pilots are still very very important. In emergency, the on board systems can't decide, you have to and God help you if the instruments readings are wrong.
