So Nigeria should provide another money for another election?

I should think you know that the 2023 election was funded by foreign donor and Nigeria.

That 2023 election was one of the most ridiculous and foreign organizations and donors are still unhappy with the conduct and irregularities in that election.

Here you are asking them (Nigeria or foreign donor) to provide another fund for another emergency election so that your cronies can mismanage, divert and steal it again.

You must think we are all stupid. Newsflash - we may not be perfect but we are no fools.
So because you're concerned about money, we should entertain a certified forger and kleptomaniac as the number one citizen?

And you call this kind of reasoning, intelligence?

I asked you a simple question about what you said you can do, instead of answering, you went sentimental.

Is your interest as well not driven by political and tribal sentiments?

You expect me to sit down and watch you and your goons destroy Nigeria beyond repairs. So if Tinubu is disqualified and jailed, who will become president?

Do you wanna conduct another election? With which money and resources?

Who will be the interim president or administrator of Nigeria pending the re-election?

You think everyone is as sick as you are, nonsense.

You better go and tell your Atiku and Obi to get ready for elections in the next 4 years. The 2023 elections are done and concluded already.

There is no Vacancy in Aso Rock.
The money that was used to conduct the February elections, na your village people contribute am give Nigeria?

Lol.

Politically motivated ambiguity.
The East is unarguably the most united region, if Language and culture are to be used as measurement yardsticks.

Outside Igbo, I think there are three other languages spoken in the East. Aduge spoken in Anambra, Mbembe spoken in Enugu (shared with Cross River), Nsukka spoken in Enugu (shared with Kogi). And those three languages have less than 100 thousand indigenes who speak them.

Lol.

I have nothing against Biafra and the proponents of its existence. But you don't describe a country as existing simply because it was supposedly recognised by mushroom African countries like Gabon, Tanzania, Zambia, etc. You have to read some more to know what it takes to birth a country as an extract from an already existing country.

Yes, Biafra was pushed and fought for. Yes, the region received military assistance from France and a few other African countries during the civil war. But that does not equate to its existence as a nation. And learn to talk to people without sounding callous.
Politics › Re: I Just Realized This Shocking Truth! (Pics) by BoldBrainz(m): 2:14pm On Oct 05, 2023
Biafra was never a recognised and gazetted Country of existence. It was a psychological construct that manifested in the efforts of a number of Nigerian citizens, and while they fought for its actualization between 1967 and 1970, any child born within the period could not be registered to a non-existent country. Hence, those people remained Nigerians.

Whoever tells you otherwise is simply attempting to sell a false narrative meant to cloak your sense of proper reasoning.

Politics › Re: Linguistically, The North Is The Most Divided And Diverse. by BoldBrainz(m): 1:53pm On Oct 05, 2023
Educational exposure is the one reason things like this are promoted in the South as compared to the North.

About 305 active languages and dialects exist in the North, plus English and French. That's about seventy percent of the 389 active languages and dialects existing in the country.

Though Nigeria was long chronicled to have about 525 languages and dialects. Some have gone extinct while others are just negligible variations of the recognised 389. Like my dialect has about 5 variations, so they're all just categorised as one.

Nationally, the most deficient region in terms of languages is the East. Outside English and Igbo, I think they have just about 4 other languages spoken sparingly.

But what baffles me is how humans still claim they are the most intelligent of all animals! Name top ten intelligent animals humans will not make the top ten.. cat is so smart that even if falling down from any height it will never fall awkwardly and break neck. Dog sense of hearing is too sharp reason a dog was able to detect the vibration sound of Turkey earthquake and started backing a day before the earthquake
Something our so called prophet, native doctor and pastor could not see with their yeye spiritual eye

Humans are very dull. The only animals whose mind can be conditioned to believe In the existence of one supreme being up there in the sky called God that does not exist. Ask humans what is keeping them alive. They will tell you grace of God. So what now happened to the forty thousand people that died in Turkey earthquake? Or rather the people dying everyday...Oh maybe God those not give a fuckkk about them! Hahah
The only animals considered to have more evolved brains than humans are dolphins and octopuses. That doesn't however put them above humans in the ecosystem.

Stop talking nonsense with confidence!

Funny enough that same Ghana, formerly called Gold Coast, is among the last on the list , even behind Nigeria.

Despite being an independent nation before Nigeria, Ghana, like other nations older than our nation, have gone way behind Nigeria in terms of development and if anyone had predicted that Ghana would be behind us even in Gold, no one would have believed it.

I am happy that the CBN, under Emefiele, had even assured our Gold miners that Federal Government is ready to buy their gold from them too.

We need more investments in mining.

There's abundance of gold in Osun and Oyo state. This is the best time to invest in the mining sector and you will even enjoy tax holidays for 3 years and you can repatriate 100% of your funds!

Invest in Lagos and the neighbouring Yoruba South West states of Nigeria to enjoy great returns and best investor- friendly experience.

There's huge clay, sand for glass making etc deposit in Lagos , Ogun has loads of granite, bitumen, limestone etc, Osun and Oyo have perhaps the largest deposit of lithium ore in Africa along with gemstones, gold etc, Ondo has one of the world's largest deposit of bitumen.

Bring your investment to South West Nigeria today. God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
That you woke up this morning and felt justified to compare Ghana with Nigeria just goes to show the level of heartlessness that's required to be an APC supporter.

Bro... You and Boldbrainz don't need to squabble or be in conflict.

It serves no purpose... We all have differing opinions and must learn to agree to disagree, especially since no matter what we dissect here, brainless people (leaders and followers) will continue to hold sway in our beloved nation.

On this issue... There can be no progressive solution until the following steps are taken:

1. Honesty: Tinubu and his people in power have to come clean and tell Nigerians the TRUTH about the state of the union.
Propaganda will make things worse (we have seen that with Buhari's 8 years in office).

2. Drastic Measures: starting from the executive to every arm of government, expenditures must be cut by at least 50% (the time for jokes should be past by now).

3. Security: they have played enough politics with terrorism and banditry. It has to stop! All forms of widespread insecurity must be eliminated by combined willpower, national security and community policing!
...And it can and must be pulled off within 3 months (Honestly, it can be achieved in a month).

4. Look Inwards: Importation has gone as far as it can and the damage on the economy is so obvious! It is time to call a state of emergency on internal production, consumption and patronage... This must cut across all goods and services. It will be painful, but achievable! Unfortunately but necessarily, some big men will have to bite the bullet.

5. State Resources: we have played coy and corrupt on this for too long! It is time for every state to come clean on resource generation and control... This will be the foundation of getting the nation massively exporting and growing economically.

6. Investment Drive: this can only take off fully when the last 3 points are judiciously sorted out... However, this is feasible and achievable within 3 years.

In all... Work needs to be done, but the first step is to get the citizens on board.

It's a democracy... Yet, we hardly ever carry Nigerians along when making decisions and fashioning out policies. This makes our democracy look like a semi-dictatorship. This has to STOP!

See ehn... Without these, no theoretical plan or ideal process will work. None!
The nation will sink so far that salvation will be an eternal mirage.
That boy knows nothing.

He comes here with bogus claims on secondary issues, ignoring the very primary basics. That's how he was parroting on subsidy, we were telling him that removing it was not even the major issue, but addressing the feeder issues that necessitated it in the first place. He nattered on like an ovulating teenager. Now subsidy has been removed and it boiled down to the same things we were saying.

He keeps shouting, "we need to industrialise and produce"... "government should let electricity companies fix this and that"... "we need to export"... which are all not wrong ideas, so to speak. But even an airplane has to taxi on a runway before flying. And that's the foundational basics I make efforts to explain to him.

It annoys me when people trivialise issues of national importance or consider them as platforms to show off. People are being laid off from jobs. Businesses are folding. Parents are taking their children out of schools. People cannot even afford meals. And you're sitting down to advocate for widening and deepening of tax nets.

Are you mad or just being naturally wicked?!

Thank you and good morning, wise old man.

This is a site. Not your life. Don't let people build birds nests 5 stories tall on your head. What we say here will be forgotten by Nov 23rd 2048
In 2009, I went to school while rendering taxi services to the public. Every weekend, I traveled to interior villages, bought major household food items like yam, plantain, garri, potatoes, then went to border and coastal towns like Bayelsa, Oron, Calabar South beach, Mfum and Ekok between Ikom and Cameroon to buy crayfish, snails and stockfish, all in bulk quantities. I settled for items that were not easily perishable, then distributed same to stalls, small market traders, neighbourhood retailers, every evenings after school hours.

In the course of those trips and through that distribution network, I made contacts, learned the very foundations of certain businesses and how they thrived. I criss-crossed the country. Government policies were favourable enough to enable small scale productions from the very ground-base. Old women and men felt safe enough to go to farms and bury their hands in dirts to grow those items, their children felt motivated enough to gather and package those harvests, roads were safe enough for people like me to travel to those places to bargain, buy and transport those proceeds to towns for onward distribution. That was a chain of events that translated to positive income generation at the very foundation. That's the foundation for the growth of any nation's GDP.

Every single click and clank in that chain has been broken from 2015 to this day. And this is just one instance I am giving to you.

Stop coming on nairaland to vomit nonsense analysis of things you know nothing about, because you're trying to sound intelligent. It is annoying to people whose businesses are collapsing everyday. You think most of the nairalanders here will be online today if Nigeria was not in a rot? You insult people's sensibilities because someone else is shouldering your responsibilities and you feel it's just cruise.

Yet again, you're talking more nonsense.

We're discussing the economy here and you're importing political inclinations into it.

I put it to you that you've never run a business in Nigeria and you know next to nothing about doing so, even if given the chance.

I put it to you that you do not pay 60 percent of your life's bills in today's current realities.

I put it to you that if we are to have a round-table parley where we'll all be required to vocally lay down ideas for business investments, you'll be found lacking in the formulation of practical decisions.

You only read books at your disposal, then come online with your "feel-good" air of theoretical intelligence and attempt to bamboozle the reading audience with words.

There's a guy on this platform called "Angelfrost". When he dissects issues, it doesn't take a genius to find a blend of intelligence and actual knowledge of the Nigerian reality, cause he has lived and experienced the things he talks about. I can name a handful of others.

You're just a hot balloon of accumulated textbook prescriptions.

Nigerians are suffering and you're busy burning data on nonsensical crammed theories. Na things like this dey make people collect beatings for open streets.

Of course Nigeria must industrialise. But the contradiction is that same person was advocating for stifling of industrial inputs.
Let me share something with you. Rice is expensive now because the state govs mopped up rice for palliatives that was announced. So many rice Mills right now are idle because farming activities which used to peak in this period has reduced due to insecurity and high cost of farming inputs. I know a mill that will not work until November. So how's that policy that cripples something as basic as farming a good thing in a developing nation? That's the question world bank is answering with this report. Those guys did Nigerians dirty
Exactly the point.

The foundational basics that should act as props for the functionality of industries and companies are non-existent. We are not even considering other extant policies that are supposed to act as buffers to shield these industries from feeling the negative impacts of other unforeseen circumstances.

This man just entered Aso rock and picked the two most popular issues according to public opinion polls, acted swiftly on them, without recourse to proper reasoning as to the resonating effects of those moves.

It's like waking up today and going to buy a car because you heard your neighbour talking about wanting to buy one cause of its benefits. No thoughts as to how you'll shoulder costs of maintenance. No thoughts as to third party insurance in the possible event of an accident. No thoughts as to whether you had other more pressing home concerns that should take priority to fuelling a car daily. Nothing!
