nairalanda1:Ah, you see? You think doing business in Nigeria comes with an operational manual? You wake up everyday in a home where you obviously pay no bills, pick up textbooks to read and come on nairaland to analyse realistic everyday circumstances, as if you can actually run a POS stand if given the chance. Government should allow electricity companies set their prices? You made this same deposition on another thread and I made efforts to correct the misinformation you were trying to dish out, but you clearly don't learn easy. There are currently no restrictions on electricity tariffs. Whatever increments there have been in the near past, government has had to partially shoulder some of that cost on behalf of citizens. Why? Electricity generation has stalled since 2015. Distribution itself has been an even bigger problem. You cannot keep charging people for services they do not enjoy. Even the simple task of supplying prepaid meters to Nigerian homes, has been riddled with corruption. Half of Nigeria is still on estimated billing. And that is happening because those companies consider that an avenue for sharp practices. Prepaid meters are supposed to come free, but today they cost 105K and even when you struggle to buy, it sometimes takes them months to come deliver and install. These are just a few of the corrupt practices happening in the energy sector. But one small boy sits somewhere and believes the companies should be given a leeway to further rob the masses through undeserved tariffs. I can write an epistle to puncture holes in every single point you raised up there, but it will amount to an exercise in futility, because you clearly know next to nothing about anything in the Nigerian reality. Do you own and run a business? You say "Ah, I see". Textbook Machismo. Mtscheew! |
nairalanda1:Lol. Come this boy, let's even get very invested in this conversation today. First, do you own and run a business of any kind? |
Kingosytex:As I said, he probably had other games in the ticket that culminated to those odds, but while he was running riot in the bar, he kept shouting "my 1000 odds don enter"..😂. Dude was so animated and genuinely excited that he almost ended up crying. I had to leave cause the hullabaloo was too much for my sanity. |
nairalanda1:Nigeria must be producing. Nigeria must industrialise. How? Even this report clearly stated that both policies are having contracting effects on the operational activities of existing industries, as input costs have considerably risen. So how is Nigeria supposed to produce when unfavourable government policies are thwarting investors' capacity to do business? Na you wan open company for country wey cost of operations easily surpass net profits? Oya na! Make you and your village people start the company, then employ Nigerians put. |
Lol. I'm unbothered. The dollar rise is to my advantage. The rest of una go dey alright. |
Kojochyke:Let me shock you. Somebody in Jahi, Abuja, predicted correct scores for Newcastle and PSG played yesterday and staked just 500 naira. We were watching the match together in the vip section of the bar, when this guy erupted immediately the final whistle rang. He refused to say how much he won, but that game alone came with over a thousand odds. The young man bought 8 crates of beer at that very instant. But the cacophony was too much for me, so I left before actually finding out how much he had won on his ticket. |
Eunoiaa:You have a very skewered understanding of the concept of "misogyny". That was me being extremely sarcastic. And even if I wasn't, it is no secret that "every" Nigerian woman has a tinge of momentary madness at any given time..😊. And to be honest, I can't date a woman who's docile to the point she cowers in my presence, even when I'm wrong. It is idiocy on the part of the woman. Irrespective of our gender advantages, we should be able to scold ourselves, especially in unions. |
mariahAngel:Lol. When I get there, I will. Best jollofs I've had were in Abuja, Ibadan and Cameroon though. |
Newcastle no get any respect😂. Them beat PSG like who thief phone for computer village. Very classy goals. And Mbappe had an extraordinarily quiet night. |
PlsStayAlive:Anyhow you wan garnish rice for this life, it's always "meh" to me. ![]() |
mariahAngel:I have tasted different rice recipes all around Nigeria, across the borders to Ghana, Cameroon and Togo. That meal is just not for me. I even find it amusing that world people attach such frenzy to its relevance. |
Frezhkid10:Is he not entitled to his profits as the major investor? Is he not at liberty to decide what to do with said profits? |
I'll never understand what people find appealing about rice. |
AllenSpencer:What's my business with Trump? I never even liked him. He was too brash for the office of the US Presidency. And I have been following the back-and-forths between Musk and Biden's White House. They're just angry that the man has access to tons of information and he's not one to apply tact, if he sees the need for public exposure. |
joinnow:Person wey him cough dey affect prices for cryptocurrency markets😂. US is just one very hypocritical country. If they like, make them no find way comot sleepy Joe for that oval office. |
AllenSpencer:Nailed for what exactly? What offence has he committed? Running his businesses how he sees fit? Exposing the US efforts geared towards clamping down on free speech? There's basically nothing they can cook up against Musk as it is. Not even with tax returns. How will anyone in his right senses, wake up and want to commence criminal proceedings against him for taking money from the proceeds of his own company to build himself a glass house😂? US don dey craze o! |
Stupid country wey even the capital city no get light! No be only Presidency, na residency! Shameless old men with criminal mindsets. |
Angelfrost:He's bitching everywhere like a petulant child . Reminds me of Jose Mourinho. |
casualobserver:Rauf has always had a thing for irrelevant bickering. He doesn't pick his battles wisely. |
Admittedly, Ojo is doing well. If he can make these reforms extensive, the succour would be much appreciated by Nigerians. |
Angelfrost:Not sure any of those decisions will be made. That Liverpool is on the receiving end of bad Var decisions today shouldn't bring football to its knees. They've had the lion share of advantages in the past. They should suck up and move on! |
Adaisback:Ada-nne! |
Yakub Mahmood. I no longer trust anyone with that name. |
One of the reasons I've recently limited my movements around this city. A neighbour's husband was released about 2 weeks ago after he was kidnapped at Abaji. Lady had to sell their car and her jewelries to raise the 3 million naira ransom. Abuja is sincerely becoming something else. |
VinnyBaba:This is very depressing. I see things like this and I genuinely hurt. Makes me feel like being in a place where I can reach out and give helping hands to capable young men suffering out there. If you know of any such graduates with the intellectual efficiency to get things done, have one or two of them mail me here. I can offer them free training on the skillsets listed in my bio for a month or two, then give them the extra benefits of exploring my existing contacts so they can start up on their own. It's unthinkable for a graduate to be earning 17K monthly. |
Often amazes me how Nigeria is so messed up to the point youths can actually be working for 25K per month. That's approximately 25 dollars with today's exchange rate. You're basically meant to survive on less than a dollar daily. Darn!! |
Your take is as good as mine. But I prefer to drive a stick. |
Xtristopher:Ye papi-eh! |
It is lowlife men that do that rubbishNa for threads like this them go see you😂. Virgin mary of the 21st century. |
