Hello guys, good thread you have on here, big task reading through the entire thread. Eye wan pop out. I have a few grey areas i need help with:

1. Letter of non-indebtedness/Letters of Reference - I know the banks write these for customers at a fee. WHO SHOULD THIS LETTER BE ADDRESSED TO. The banks will not write this unless it is addressed to someone. Should it be addressed to CIC or?? Yes. Address to CIC
2. Proof of employment: Is it OK to have this document as a "To Whom it may Concern" Yes
3. There was a mistake in my date of birth on my WAEC Result. This was picked up by WES. I have begun the process of rectifying this with WAEC and i am currently waiting for the change to be made. However, i have attached my WAEC result as it is, with my UNI Certs, copy of my birth certificate and sworn affidavit used for processing the change. Will this suffice? Anyone had the same issue in the past? Doi need to include a letter of explanation for this reason? I am not sure if that would be a problem, but the LOE is not too much to add
4. Do i need to attach copies of my IELTS and WES certificates to my eAPR? Yes you should... Under Education.
5. I seem to have misplaced my original UNI Cert and just have the scanned copies. Will this be requested by CIC at any point? Anyone have this experience? No. They do not request for it at any point.
6. How many months of bank statement is required? I know it is not cast in stone, but what time frame is prudent? 6 months
7. Any ideas on how to pay the fees? I don't think any Nigerian debit cards can transact such amounts. Any leads on this? You would most likely have to find someone abroad that can help with his/her international card or get dollars from the parallel market and open a dorm account here in Nigeria and used the card attached to the account.

Please help, I submitted my express entry profile last week, I retook IELTS test and result came out last Friday so I updated my profile over the weekend but till date my profile score has not updated and study and languages section still has status as In progress

Please what do I need to do for status to change to transmitted or do I create another profile?

Thanks Boldinc you are a good brother.. Another question...

(1) What's the best way of making the payment for the WES assessment. How did you go about paying yours, I really want to avoid this dollar black market rate... I used an international dollar card... your best bet, as mentioned several times here is to get someone abroad that can help or you get a dorm account and fund with dollars.

(2) I read IQAS is faster and seem to be cheaper than WES....whats the down side of assessing with IQAS.. I do not now much about IQAS

Quick questions all,

(1) I just created a profile on WES, since I am evaluating only my Msc certificate, should I only fill this in the space for "credential to be evaluated" on the site? Cos I saw an option for another credential - Fill in MSc details alone..

(2) for the required document by WES, I saw the " academic records request form"...should I download this form and give it to my school to send along with the transcript? - Yes... You need to send that to your school and follow thru till they send to WES

(3) How should I send photocopy of Msc certificate to WES.. Through courier service or just scan it to them.. - I don't think you need to send them the certificate itself, I used WES and didn't have to send it. The transcript from the school was sufficient.

(4) summary of the cost for the evaluation shows $322.05, is this alright or should I choose the standard paper report delivery option which cost just $7...i am trying to reduce cost - I can't remember that option, but the fee seems similar to what I paid (Courier delivery inclusive)

@boldinc , for lawyers, do you think evaluating LB(law school cert.)will suffice or I should send both degree and law school certs for evaluation? Would I claim more points with both?

Thanks. So in the case of me having MSc, B.Eng and ND, and my spouse will be the main applicant (no transcript problem from her side), please what is the best way around this (I mean will the ND be useful?). Presently, the school where I had my B.Eng is in crisis and it is sure that wont be resolved pretty soon, while the other two schools are ready to issue my transcripts. Moreso , I had already included B.Eng and ND in the WES form. Except a strong assurance about my earlier question that, will WES not change my already issued reference number while payment is still pending.
Have I not shot myself in the leg in various ways now?

I have had people ask which of their credentials to submit for evaluation, with responses that the highest degree could be evaluated.
Does that mean that one degree can cover and rake points for all other certificates, considering a situation where someone has got a lot of diploma certificates. More so it appears other certs. except degrees have got good points to add. How does this work? Its better If one evaluation would cover because of the unrest in most of our higher institutions that prevents one from collecting stuffs out (FUTA for example).

Work experience: 2 years as a petroleum geologist

IELTS: Not yet done...

WES EVALUATION: not yet done

POF: Have got money saved in an account strictly for travelling purpose

Questions:
1) what is my chance of scaling through?

2) How long does it take from the beginning to the end of the whole PR journey... (issuing of PR)

3) The money in the account to be presented is from another account of mine... I do transfer from my second account to this other account.. So the bank statement of the account to be presented for the PR will only state my name and that all transfer to the account is from my other account. please do you think I can present it? .

4) Should I send both my Bsc and Msc certificate for evaluation? I have both statement of results.. I also have my transcript copy... Do you think I can send the transcript copies, will WES accept it or must ut be sent directly from the universities...

In getting all docs ready (received ITA 3wks ago but stalling due to fbi pcc) and reading through recent comments, i realized some said i can take out my spouse work history and move to personal history, i however do need clarification. I see that i only got points for my hubby's ielts but no points for education (as I claimed no evaluation) and no points for work. However the entire funds for the trip is in my hubby's acct though i have access. We tried changing it to a joint account but not possible so we decided he will move it to me and give me a gift deed....
1) With this situation, can i still take out his work history and put in personal history so we don't need to get reference
2) Do we need to explain the source of his funds?
3) Would i need his bank statement or not
4) I have a current acct n savings acct in gtb, an acct in stanchart, one in stanbic and a biz acct in Diamond. I also have a foreign acct. Off all these, the only acct with tangible funds (over 500k) is the biz account. Do i need to include all the statement for these accounts.
5) Do we need to include daughter's (she is less than a year old) bank statement too as i am the signatory because i read somewhere that all bank statements are required
6) Do landed properties count as pof
7) I am currently self employed running prof devt training through my cac registered company which i added as part of employment, what do i submit as proof? Would cac doc and letter from clients suffice?

So how did he win the appeal if they refused? If he did, there would have been a letter sent to her admitting that she was wrongfully treated which she would take to the embassy. Of which there isn't...

With or without a lawyer, she could still reapply and state her case to the visa officer.

Dear all, please when claiming points for past work experience must it be within the chosen NOC? For instance, I've got 4yrs of work experience with an NGO as an HR Officer (have got a reference letter for that), but during my Nysc I worked in the bank as a funds transfer officer. Can I also get a reference letter & claim points as well?
