nusta: Ask Seun, jumia and Konga owners, Linda Ikeji etc. Internet is the future! Simple answer. For some reason, some people, just because they don't understand it, they discard it. They are on an online forum created by a Nigerian and still believe don't believe it is possible in Nigeria. What irony. |

Those that live is a block of flats don't flush toilet after 10pm, because the noise of the water moving down the toilet pipe will be disturbing your neighbours Lol. . .I'll give you one even better. In germany there is a noise ordinance. You cannot use your noise to disturb me. Things like playing music that i can hear from your car or house is seriously frowned upon. Doing it on a day like sunday is even worse. You could go to jail as a repeat offender, not to mention the fines in hundreds of Euro. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 5K: How Will Federal Government Capture Data Of All Unemployed Youths? by Bollinger(m): 10:14am On Nov 26, 2015 |
zieraw2005: Hello Nairalanders, I have been wondering about the recent trends and campaign promise made by Federal government to Pay Nigerian teaming unemployed Youths 5k monthly without foul play? this 5k of a thing seems not feasible to me.
The process of Gathering data alone would be defeated as political bigwigs would hijack it and favour only those fanning them.
Please drop your view below cos I want to register but don't know where to start or how to go about it. I have almost shouted myself hoarse about this issue on NL. Most just hear "5k" and they lose all sense of reasoning. It can never work. Not with the infrastructure on ground. All they will do if they implement it, is create another avenue for looting funds. Want another head cracker? How will the government sustain it? Nobody is asking that question. The govt can't even pay salaries for God's sake. In America, when you are born, or become a citizen/resident, you are issued a number which follows you till the day you die. This number is relevant from going to school to buying a car. It identifies you to pretty much everything you do in life. So, if the government wanted to help the unemployed, all they need to do is pull up your number and it will tell if you have a job or not. Too easy. Say you are looking for a job, the first thing that is asked of you is your number which the company will input into their system which the government can access at anytime. It makes everyone's life so much easier. Until Nigeria implements something like this, all talk of social welfare should be put in the back burner. The govt does not even know how many unemployed live on a street and they want to track the whole country. Well, good luck with that. |

Goat There is nothing wrong in a social programme where unemployed citizens are taken care of by society. What is funny though is how they are going to identify who will benefit and also sustain the programme. You can't pay salaries but people are expecting 5k monthly. Ok. |

I've been in Germany three years now. I can honestly tell you that i have not seen one major accident in that time. Not once. This is a country where there is practically no speed limit on the autobahn. You can go as fast as you want and little or no accidents? How do you think they make that happen? Because they take driving seriously. They understand that owning and driving a vehicle is not a right, it is a privilege. Do you know how much it costs to have a drivers license in Germany? two thousand euro. Imagine paying that much to get a drivers license. Would you want to risk losing it? Apart from the money, to pass their drivers license test is like taking a bar exam. Nigerians need to change their mentality. |

You know how when you are in a bad place and you see other people being somewhat happy and it pains you. People ask you "hey, how's life?" and you put on a fake smile and say "omo, everything just de bam". Then, one day, those people who you often observe being happy all of a sudden are in the same bad place you are. All of a sudden, you are happy because, you know what they say, misery loves company. See all the negative comments on NL. You mutherfuckers are in a bad place and you have the nerve to open your phucking mouths to say "i love Nigeria my country", "Nigeria is awesome". Awesome my foot. If it was that awesome, you would not be jubillating over someone elses misfortune. Just by your comments alone, one can tell that you all are unhappy and thoroughly depressed. Misery really does love company. |

Abyam: I'm married with 2 kids. I lost my job 3 years ago when my company was restructuring. So I know how tough it is to be jobless especially with a family that is looking up to you for provision.
On the 15th Nov. God blessed my hustle and i got an offer from one of the high institution in my state as an assistant lecturer. I was very happy when i collected the offer, it rekindled my hope for the future because i have longed to become a lecturer since i was in school as it will give me opportunity to upgrade my certificates and to even study to Phd level with abundant of scholarships at their disposal.
But events took another turn this week when i was called by a coy i attended it's interview 2 years a go, they sent me an sms inviting me to come and meet their boss for final stage of the interview, to cut the story short....... i was offered another job with a mouth watery pay 3x the govt job, i'm to resume work on the 11th of January 2016.
My delimma now is to choose between a job with average pay(lecturing) while career growth is gradual or go for the money with opportunity to travel to other countries and a world class exposure.
Please Senior Men in the house advice me, i need the money but i'm worried because where i was working 3 yrs ago i was well paid, things were moving smoothly but when the time came to downsize, it can take anybody, matured advice gentlemen! If i were you i would go for the average pay job and leave the one with high financial prospect and travel opportunity. Do you hear how stu.pid that sounds? Sometimes i think you people are so ret.ard.ed, you don't deserve the job in the first place. Or is this another MOD story? |

Daminaj1: wow. when did it all go wrong it was never right. The ghanaian cedi is 50 cedis to 1 Naira, but obviously their economy is way better than ours. A country can peg it's currency to whatever it wants. That does not mean it's economy is vibrant. And for your information in 1981 Nigeria was experiencing what it is experiencing today. Corruption, salaries not being paid, fuel scarcity, poor power generation, bad roads etc. So, don't deceive yourself. It was never good. |
