SmartMugu:You are still going back to my point about thinking long and hard before you make decisions. See all those points you just laid out? well, i got a job that takes care of all that for me. No student loan, no daycare. Everything is taken care of by my employer. And i mean everything. It's a hard job, but it's worth it. All i got to think about is work period. Everything is on auto pilot. Many naija boys be like "heckdaphuckno, i ain't doing that shiit". Just because they want to parry. Well, to each his own. Hard choices bro. |
Optimall:You got that right. I still cannot fathom how anyone can complain about america. This is a country where you can literally close your eyes and envision anything you want to be and you can be that thing. The tools, resources and infrastructure is there to guarantee your dreams will become a reality. All you have to do is just want it and take the first step. But no, Nigerians want to come here and be big boys overnight and party. Well, like it was said in the wizard of oz, "you ain't in kansas no more". You'd better act right and get right or get the phuck out. |
SmartMugu:Well i can't help "those" people. A lot of people come to the U.S thinking they are still in Nigeria. Financial responsibility is key to survival. When i first arrived in the states, my first port of call was chicago. Trust naija people, there was always one owambe party every weekend or another. I used to get confused as to how they could do it. Till a trusted Ghanaian friend broke it down for me. These guys used to max their credit cards just to impress other nigerians. This is a sure way to disaster. He further told me to stay away from them. Thank God i listened. America is not Nigeria where you can spend anyhow you want and be broke for long periods and survive. You have to think before you spend. A lot of Nigerians don't. There is no hiding place here. It's all about personal responsibility and making hard choices. It did not even take me one year to stand on my feet because i made hard choices. A lot nigerians told me not to apply for my present job because of safety but i ignored them, now they are asking how i am surviving so well. I tell them what i am telling you; HARD CHOICES BRO. Leave the Nigerian mentality behind and the sky is the limit. Think like a regular Nigerian and you'll surely fail. |
Daverytimes:What you have said is out of ignorance. To be successful in the u.s for example, take these steps; 1. Enter the country legally. Key word here is LEGALLY. If not, disregard the remaining points because you are going to experience hell. 2. Wait 3 months and get your social security. 3. Apply and get a job. 4. Pay your bills. Your credit score is paramount to your success. 5. Apply to a decent school. 6. Get a degree or certification. 7. Graduate. 8. Apply for a better job. 9. Stay out of trouble. 10. After 5 years, get your citizenship. Too easy . |
emmanuelcrawler:Lol..... |
abbey621:You are confusing a "jungle" to paradise. Well, good luck with that. It's funny that people who have choices are saying they want to live in Nigeria and the one's that don't want to get the phuck outta there. I wonder why that is? |
Atmmachine:I seriously doubt you live in the U.S. If you do then most likely you are an illegal immigrant. If you really did, you would not have made that bolded statement. Say you miss Nigeria; not Nigeria is best country on earth. I miss Nigeria too, but there is no way i would equate that country with the word "best". I'd have to be insane to think like that. |
Aareonakakanfo:Keep deceiving yourself. The big question is how has that improved the economy or transformed your life. You'all need to stop hyping worthless things and face reality. |
crowns2:Unless you have a mortar and pestle, you are outta luck. A blender will only work if your intended end result is a watery paste. I normally blend cocoyam for bitter leaf soup which gives me the desired result though. Anyway, dispense with the real thing and go for powdered yam. It's easier, faster and less messy. Goodluck |
cococandy:Weird. Might as well eat garri and scrambled eggs. |
cococandy:Who the hell eats steak and eggs for lunch? ![]() |
Pavore9:Exactly. Most of these soups are so easy to cook, but most "chefs" just make things so difficult. When i cook it, I; 1. Boil whatever type of meat, stockfish, and fish together in one pot. 2. Wash the bitter leaf with salt and boil after washing for 30 minutes. 3. Boil and blend/mash cocoyam into a paste. 4. When properly cooked, remove the fish (if any) from the cooked meat while leaving the stockfish and add palm oil with pepper and crayfish. 5. Add the mashed cocoyam into the soup and let it cook for 10 min. (Experience will let you know how much quantity you need) 6. Once the cocoyam thickner has blended with the soup, add the bitter leaf and fish. Don't drown the soup with bitter leaf. Experience over time will show you the quantity you need. 7. Cook for another 20 minutes at low heat and then you are done. Enjoy. |
pretydiva:Me and you babe. Me and you. |
KOLZY:That is not the reason. Think tradition. It was tradition back in the day to have as many kids as possible to help you farm your land which was the only source of income. The more kids you had, the more virile you seemed to society and the easier it was to make an income. This mentality has been carried down and died with our parents. Look around, how many people in their 30's/40's today do you see with more than 4 kids? Times have changed. I grew up with 10 siblings but i and my siblings have no more than 3 children per family. Times have changed. |
Two things most crucial to a nation's growth; power generation and roads. It is so easy to create both but sadly you need a rocket scientist to explain this to Nigeria's leadership. |
joyli:Very eloquent. |
joyli:Did you? |
laurel03:See why jungle justice and extra judicial killings should be discouraged? you never know who's guilty or innocent until you follow due process. |
klem93:If i'm not mistaken, thats a D7 Dozer. Not been on that shiit in years. Damn i miss it. |
joyli:Either the OP is as dumb as a stack of rocks or he/she is just plain stupid. With his/her logic, a person has to have a bikini body to swim. Since when does having a bikini body being a requirement to swim? Nairaland i hail thee. |
BUAR:The irony of all the comments i have read so far is that nigerians on a good day would lynch this guy to death for stealing food for his family. But, because the atrocity was committed by BH, then it is inhumane. Nigerians and their mentality. |
hbpeze:Are you a virgin. If not, then, you can see the irony of your post. |
More like thugs harass 2face. |
Solution to Nigeria's problem; 1. Stage a coup. 2. Round up all the old guard and politicians and execute them all. 3. Return power to the people. You might think this is too drastic but Rawlings did it in Ghana. Now, they are reaping the benefits. Plus, it is way better than a civil war which Nigeria is getting dangerously close to. Corruption runs too deep in Nigeria and all you'all are doing is recycling the same brand of leaders. Nothing will ever change till you cut off the head of the snake. |
delishpot:He probably won't. The id.iot is posting his identity and occupation on the internet for all to see. For his speciallity, that is absolutely insane. I wonder why the Nigerian military does not understand what OPSEC is/means. |
iamkingzlee:Good. Now i can take this information to the bank. I'm sure it's worth millions. |
what the Bleep is this? |
funlord:If there was a way to give you 10,000 likes i would have done so. You took the words right outta my mouth/head/thoughts. |
The girl get liver. |
jimfend:Because NL staff understand that sex sells. |
