cococandy:I bet it was. Learning the trade in a eatery in Nigeria is as tough as it gets. "Tion sir". I doff my hat ![]() |
Xtaceeey:Let me break it down for you in the simplest form. Looking for a job is a game of numbers. It has nothing to do with whatever god you worship or how hard you pray. You have to understand how to apply math and probability to whatever you do in life. I used to get job offers left right and center. Here's how; Back then, i used to buy guardian newspapers every tuesday plus any newspaper i knew always placed ads for jobs. And then i would buy a stack of envelopes and stamps. I would apply for everything in sight even if i was not qualified for it. I studied public administration in Nigeria and all my working career was in marketing. First in retail merchandising and then brand management. In a week, i would have applied for at least 10 to 15 ads. That's about 60 ads a month. Multiply that by 3 months. No how no how, out of that 60, 10 go call me for interview. My friends used to wonder why and how i was changing jobs. But, that being said, hopefully you had already prepared yourself over the years for these job interviews. The way you carry and express yourself and also ensuring you had/have the verbal and mental skills to engage whoever is interviewing you. That in itself is a big challenge in Nigeria. So-called graduates cannot hold a conversation even if their lives depended on it. Fadeyi Oloro movies don dabaru their heads finish. Doubt me? Just scroll through all the threads on NL and witness what graduates are spewing. |
cococandy:I no fit remember but I know say I tok am sha. Pesin no fit de splatter mede mede like that without some form of boot camp training. ![]() |
GraGra247:Good luck with that. Telling someone in Nigeria that is like telling him/her not to breathe. |
BeReaSonAble:In fact, the greatest people in the world. You no see the paradise of a nation wey una de build. I say carry go jare. Una too much. ![]() |
BeReaSonAble:Of course na. Corruption sweet. Lack of power supply sweet. Bad roads sweet. Armed robbers sweet. Bad leaders sweet. Looting sweet. Jungle justice sweet. A beg, carry go jare. Nothing do you. You too much. Una too sweet. ![]() |
9jakohai:Do all 170 million people have vehicles? The number of vehicles on Nigerian roads is less than 12 million. Plus, the reason Nigeria is not a rich country is because of how corrupt the country is. It is the reason why it cannot manage it's resources effectively and never will. Corruption breeds waste and no nation can survive or grow in that kind of atmosphere. Even if it does deregulate, it will not make a dent in the fortunes of it's citizens. What with the way it's leaders and people embrace corrupt practices. |
Ezeakanobi:Let me list all those that also said what buhari said in '77; Shagari IBB Abacha Shonekan OBJ GEJ. So, What does this tell you? |
polite2:Which is why suffer de follow una everywhere. Continue supporting people who oppress you. Continue. |
9jakohai:The problem with your argument is, Nigeria is an oil producing country. There is no freaking way Nigerians should paying as much as a country that does not have oil. It makes no sense. It is akin to a farmer who has thousands of tubers of yam and decides to go to the market to go buy the same yam he has. Does that make sense to you. That being said, the reason all facets of like life in Nigeria has stalled is because of how corrupt it's people are. If that doesn't change more woes will definitely befall the country. |
kallmemrB:Are you sure about that? If the comments on NL are anything to go by, it is definitely not want you want as a people. Definitely not. |
DuBLINGreenb:How is that possible? |
BeReaSonAble:There are non. Your society is too corrupt. Even if you find one good person, you guys will re orientate him/her into your corrupt ways or worse, kill him/her for not conforming. The only way is to re educate and re orientate the next generation. Haven't you noticed that a 15 year old in Nigeria is already a "sharp" guy? Now this is a true story; A friend of mine's uncle, who is a good man, decided to return to Nigeria to run for the chairmanship of his local govt. He won but after a couple of months, he started getting death threats because he was not letting contracts flow and was not "sharing" at all. They were calling him mugu because he was honest. You see the problem? Your leaders are not the problem. You, the citizens are the cause of your own predicament. Like i said; Good luck with that debacle you call a country. |
BeReaSonAble:What has who I am got to do with how you are as a people? The tin never pain una reach. Dem no go tell una before una get sense. No worry. ![]() |
If i'm sitting in an airplane, jejeli minding my own business, and a "celebrity" in quote, starts harassing me with whatever that is, am i a fan? ![]() |
cococandy:Like my friend Lloyd would say; "En hen. You see? I tok am". Sebi I tok am? ![]() |
thesicilian:How did you come up with that deduction? |
hooklover:Lol. Like i said; those who fail to follow or learn their history are doomed to continue to repeat it. Learn your history bro. You will be better of for it. In 2090, guess what question your children will still be asking? "why are we not moving forward as a Nation. Good luck. You guys really will need it. ![]() |
BeReaSonAble:And 4 years down the road, you'll still be asking; "why are we not moving forward as a country?". Carry on. d tin never chook una reach. Wen e don do una weh weh, dem no go te una make una get sense. Smh. |
yeyerolling:What you just said is an oxymoron. Sane individuals do not go about lynching people. Unless we are talking about the "Nigerian" sane. ![]() |
GoldCircle:Lol. You must be very young. That is exactly the reason you are all in the conundrum you find yourselves. You do not follow nor understand your history as a country and a people who don't are doomed to continue to repeat it. You talk as if this is the first, second or third time Nigerians have followed a leader based on their corrupt selfish reasons. When a people's reason for voting in leaders is based on false promises even a 5 year old can see through or because someone gave them garri and salt, this is exactly what you get and deserve. You would think Nigerians would have learnt their lesson by now. Yeah right. If they did, Atiku would not have the nerve to say he want's to become president. But what do we have? Even on NL, members are advocating for him. Carry on people. You think it's bad now? You do not have an inkling of what's coming. |
pussyeater:Una go just de tok rubbish. That is the standard direction all soldiers and policemen should point their weapons. Where do you want him to point it to? Towards people? It is exactly because of accidental discharge you point it downwards so if the weapon accidentally discharges, the bullet hits the ground and not some innocent bystander. That being said, policemen should not carry weapons with rounds in the chambers so there would not be "accidental discharge". Smh. |
jagugu88li:Irrespective of what the other side has to say, you don't treat people like that. Obviously, the man is tired of her for whatever reason, maybe she herself is at fault but you don't treat a spouse like that. |
MrIjapa:And that is the very reason a lot of women are treated like slaves. In a normal society, this wouldn't even be an issue. She would have been done with him and the guy would be paying for it financially for a very very long time. Na wa for Africa. |
Guyman02:One of the biggest problems in nigeria is its citizens don't care to know their history and it is a shame. Smh. You should be flogged. |
shammahyaro:Yup. After he had taken prescriptions. He should have just stayed in church to be healed. ![]() |
yeyeboi:Suffer no good i swear. Kai. Smh. |
jonnytad:There is absolutely no difference between Buhari, GEJ, OBJ's tenure. In fact, the worst was OBJ's presidencey. What is happening now is not new. It is Nigeria's history. Just listen to fela's songs now and you'd think he just released them yesterday. Meanwhile his songs are like 30 to 40 years old. What does that tell you? |
NwaChibuzor909: nely: yeyeboi:Another problem in a long line of problems. Nigerians do not understand what leadership means hence their penchant for always idolizing the wrong one's. So, let's break down your logic. A bag of rice during Abacha's time was around N800 to N1000. Fuel was around N20 or 30N. With your way of thinking are you now saying Abacha is amongst the "greatest" (whatever that means) leaders in Nigeria? NIGERIANS; STOP USING YOUR STOMACHS TO DO YOUR THINKING FOR YOU. The real cause of your problems is right there in front of you but hunger and desperation no wan let una see road. What a people. Smh. |
TopExcell:You do realize the comments are in the thread right? Or don't you know what "thread" means? |
AndrewFarms:Lol. Best answer when logic and rationale escapes you. ![]() |
Afam4eva:Big time. |
