What i find funny is the hypocritical moral stance of Nigerians on any issue. These are the same species who dress as if they want to sell their bodies to the highest bidder and are now here claiming the moral high ground. You people are just astounding. Smh.

Saw what coming? What are you? 12? Do you think this is the first time states have been partnering with foreign countries in Nigeria? Nigeria and by extension Nigerians are too decadent, corrupt and selfish to maintain or start anything good. If it were you would have seen the effect in your lives from decades of partnering with countries.

You make a bit of sense, but you're missing the point entirely. The point is that Nigeria is an artificial entity.

Where it not for the British, the country we call Nigeria today would NEVER have come into existence by the natural course of history and every ethnic nationality would have been free to pursue its own development goals and agenda to the best of its ability. Evrything that is wrong such as the lawlessness that your Swiss friend witnessed is just a sympton of the Nigerian malaise and not the actual problem.

Artificial Countries like Nigeria which lack any real unifying factor always end up disintegrating. The examples are just too many to ignore (Yugoslavia, The Soviet Union, India, Sudan etc)
All great countries have strife. It is normal. Do you think Britain or the united states haven't gone through worse? There are states in the U.S who do not want to be part it's union and go there separate ways. The difference between them and Nigeria is that their citizens don't have to act like animals to put their point across or throw away decency in other to lead their daily lives.

So, I was in a taxi, at the back seat, alongside other passengers. As we were about to get to the junction where the police are stationed, the driver quickly told the passenger in the front seat to use his seat belt. The driver also put on his, and he drove on. This inspired me to wrote this piece. read on......

1. You are driving. You see the Road safety officials, but that's when you know you are supposed to put on your seat belt. Are they supposed to be your reminder to using the seatbeat? Are seatbelts not meant for your own safety?

2. You buy new clothes, just because you want to put up pictures on instagram/Facebook pictures ONLY. I thought we buy clothes to adorn ourselves and look beautiful.....

3. You eat out at big restaurants after collecting your salary, and you spend your money on irrelevant items, only for you to soak garri mid-month. My brother, why are you doing this to yourself?

4. Your parents took loan, just to send you to school. You got to the school and joined #bad gang. Why can't you face your studies and make your parents proud?

5. I am at your stall to buy your goods. We began bargaining. You told me 'e no gree'..... only for me to walk some distances, and you start screaming 'aunty, come pay.' Must you stress your customers? #ayam not understanding#

6. You are 16 years old this year, you are 16 years old the following year. In the next 3 years to come, you are still 16. #I can't keep calm on this.

7. You claim you love her, but pressure her to get down with you. Haba! Haven't you heard that True love waits?

8. You want to cross to the other side of the road, you started crossing when you saw that the vehicles were not stopping, then you started shouting 'please o, don't crush me o, baba oko mi joor o, abegi o'. Mama, but why? Why can't you use the bridge?

9. You form 'Behind' in Lagos, fly Uber and wear designers, but your parent still live in a mud house in the village, and your mother wears torn wrapper. Uncles and aunties, who are you deceiving?

10. You sleep with married men and call it fun. Don't worry dear, the girls karma would use for you are still in primary 5.

Stop Jungle justice.

Stop littering.

Stop selling your votes.

Stop inciting tribal wars.

Stop bribing policemen.

Stop collecting bribes.

Stop nepotism.

Stop mismanaging resources.

Stop all these as a people and i guaranfuckingtee you your lives will transform overnight.

This is what i hate most about Nigerians and religious nutjobs especially. Even with all the evidence to the contrary, they are still hoping for a miracle. With everything that is happening in Nigeria, does it sound like a country on the path of a better future? One of the most corrupt countries in the world is claiming that it has a bright future grin. Ok, keep dreaming. Instead of you all to roll up your sleeves, copy what other normal successful countries have done and are doing, you are busy praying and listening to fraudsters. Carry on.

Diversity only works where there is a willingness for it. Nigeria is a rickety contraption which the British cobbled together without seeking the permission of the different tribes who were going to live together under the guise of being one country.

We're still paying for the folly of the British to this day.

I don't know a single intelligent human being who thinks that a union with a backward, illiterate, disease ridden, religiously intolerant region like Northern Nigeria is a good idea, so let's stop this unity crap.

Nigeria's existence is perfectly negotiable.
I am glad you know that diversity works in normal societies. Nigeria ain't normal which is why it fails. It is just like saying that other country's citizen do not litter but as Nigerians we can't because we are dirty people. The only reason it does not work in Nigeria is because Nigerians in Nigeria lack the basic decency and knowledge of why it is advantageous. This is how bad Nigerians are as a people. One time i showed a friend of mine in Switzerland a video on youtube of how a mob of people set a suspect on fire. You know what amazed him the most? It wasn't that it happened that shocked him. What shocked him was the fact that they took the time to video it, stand around without fear of the authorities and even had the nerve to put it on the internet. Guy, it doesn't matter if the three ethnic groups split apart. They will still find ways to fight amongst themselves.

In 2017 when we should be talking about automating our transport systems, we don't even have a basic NationalRail website for booking train tickets online, not to mention contactless payments on trains and buses. Our airports cannot stand next to any 21st century airport across the world in terms of quality, services or infrastructure. These are things that we should be exploring - moving to the next level.

Instead my fellow Nigerians are throwing a party because a runway is being renovated. My oh my, what a country.
My only advice to people like you is to leave that country else they corrupt your mentality too.

Hence why i said a "healthy" normal person. Or didn't you read my post before commenting? If one should extrapolate it, it means since Nigerians are not mentally and socially healthy, things like the renovation of a runway, (I can believe i am saying this) will be astounding to them. Smh.

What is more major than a runway being rehabilitated to avert carnage?

You can also continue with the bile.
There is nothing absolutely wrong with it. What is wrong is jubillating over what should otherwise normal. It is like doing back flips just because you are breathing oxygen. Isn't it normal for a healthy person to do so?

If you want to be angry you are free to blow your top.

I on the other hand I'm mighty relieved and proud of the government's action to get it fixed as they motioned to do.

Kudos to all involved in making it a success.
Like i said, you all are easily placated. They feed you guys scraps while core and major issues fester. Carry on.

Why should we be angry?

You do realise even this project when initiated was bedevilled by politics as the same people who refuse to even allow a budget pass couldn't stand to see a successful rehabilitation?

It is with joy that we embrace this positive development.

This one is over and we look forward to other developments.
The fact that you don't understand why you should be angry points to the nature of an average Nigerian and why you all are still living the way you do? You should be angry that it took this long to fix. You should be angry that corruption is a big part of it because no one can tell me that they didn't see the risk in letting it stay that way for this long. You should be angry that it will continue to be like this now and forever more because Nigerians don't learn from anything. Doubt me? look back at half a century of it's history.

.....Diversity is good if managed properly..but a recipe for a terrible human disaster if handled the way Nigeria/Nigerians is doing theirs..

....After 50plus years of independence,Nigeria has become a castrated and toothless 'giant'..were development has been eroded systematically over the years on the alter of ethnic and religious squabbles and injustice...Even the corruption cankerworm that has eaten deep into the system is fueled and sustained by religious and ethnic bigotry..

....I use to be a 'one Nigerianist' in the past but events over the years has opened my eyes to the reality, and that is the fact that we are better off apart..its certainly not working out.
Personally i do not give two phucks if Nigeria stays together or breaks apart. I have zero vested in it. My only grouse is that if you do not understand why you are the way you are, you are destined to make the same mistakes again.

Oga, it's nothing new for Igbos and Yorubas to marry and deliver inter tribal offspring. For you to link this to why you think the unity of the country is non negotiable givies you away as a slowpoke (no offence). Aren't there Nigerian getting married to Ghanians, jamaicans etc? Maybe we should merge those countries too. WTF.
And it is this mentality that will keep you all under impoverished for all time. Even the U.S knows the value of diversity which is why they do the annual DV lottery. Without diversity, America would not be the super power it is today. Why you people won't learn baffles the mind.
