There. That is the problem. Nigerians don't understand. The government is not what the company needs. It is the ability of the company to convince consumers in and outside Nigeria that they have a solid product. The Government in Germany are not the one's buying all BMWs made in germany. It is people like you and me that do so. Nigerians don't understand the function of Government in their lives and it's a freaking shame.

Really? Can another surprise be more than this? Taking a bag of rice, rice of all food from 9k to 20k in just 11months, he's really a miracle merciless worker. Pls tell Buhari to keep any other surprises for his ppl in Duara, they will need it when he return to them in 2019, Nigerians already had enough of it
I don't think you all understand the real problem in Nigeria. No one can save Nigeria or get Nigeria on track because Nigerians in general are too corrupt. You can't start or finish anything where the environment you are needs "settling" every time. Another problem is Nigerians don't see this as a problem. Corruption is now an acceptable culture in because everyone is so comfortable around it. It is almost like breathing. There is not a minute that goes by where everyday Nigerians don't either see it or are planning it. It is one of the two. How else will you explain why a policeman would be so comfortable standing in the middle of traffic collecting bribe? See my point? An official tasked with arresting people who do it, is doing it in the full glare of the public. And no one says or does a damn thing. What a shame? The worst part is, Nigerians are throwing blame at the wrong person. Every Nigerian needs to stand in front of a mirror to see who to blame for their woes.

Romance › Re: Why Do Nigerian Men Come Back Home To Marry? by Bollinger(m): 3:32pm On Oct 24, 2016
SerRento:
Lol. Look, we can do this back and forth till
eternity. The divorce laws in Nigeria favour the man, the divorce laws in the US favour the woman; both laws are skewed towards a gender.

You have not denied that men in the US would be ecstatic if the divorce laws in America were balanced. Unless, you're saying the divorce laws in the US are infallible and should, thus, be applied in Nigeria.

You have not denied that women wake up and decide to divorce their husbands without consideration for his welfare. The women in Nigeria do not divorce for economic reasons, the women in the US divorce for economic reasons. In short, women love money. Read up on the drop in marriage rates in China after divorce laws were changed to not favour the woman.

Women have little incentive to work when all their needs are met. You can also read up on that. Women would choose the kitchen over other spheres of life if they had to choose.

I do not need to wonder how you think, I know already. You really don't think, you just regurgitate liberal talking points. If you want to see the end point of your western feminism and femcentrism, the Scandinavian axis there for you to study. There is nothing groundbreaking about your worldview, women in Finland and Sweden have been where your women wish to get to and they have discarded the bullshiit. Wake up and stop feeling like yourevthe only eduvayed, civilised Persian on nairaland.

The reason why you refuse to see my point of view is because you think yours is infallible. Travel more and see the world for what it is. Don't just sir down in your hut and let identity poliiciand define your worldview for you.
Unfortunately I have a tasking I have to complete. Will enlighten you further when I get back. The focus will be to stress on not making opinions on issue you nothing about. The divorce laws in the West is not skewered to favor women. It favors common sense because it affects both men and women. You can never understand. Till I get back.

So,
1.you're the only Nigerian who treats his wife like a human being?
2. Anyone who is divorced is so because they don't treat their spouses like human beings?
3. You wouldn't be treating your spouse like a human being if you were in Nigeria?
4. What is denial of the obvious in my first post that you quoted? Isn't that the reason most Nigerian men come to pick a wife in Nigeria?
5. Isn't that obvious enough to you?
6. Is everyone who treats their spouse less than a human being in the US divorced?

Try to present your points with logic.
You are rambling as usual. You have not denied that the divorce laws in Nigeria are skewered in favor of men. You have not denied that the economic realities is the main reason women are scared to divorce their husbands in Nigeria. You have not denied that a man can wake up one morning and chase his wife out of their home with zero consequences. Even your president has pretty much summed up the attitude of men as regards their perception of women in Nigeria. Again, denying the obvious only perpetuates your ignorance. I wonder how you people think?
Romance › Re: Why Do Nigerian Men Come Back Home To Marry? by Bollinger(m): 10:37am On Oct 24, 2016
SerRento:
But you refuse to mention the problems with the American marriage laws. What do you have to say about no-fault divorce and that campaigns are underway to abolish the policy? In the US, a woman can we up one morning and decide shes no longer happy with her husband and divorce him, and what's worse, he still gets to pay her monthly stipends and rent or mortage, whichever case applies. And the beauty of this is that this violation is sanctioned by government. What a civilised way of handling marital issues. The day a woman will try that rubbish here, her family will receive her corpse piece by piece.

By the way, speak for those women you know who are treated like slaves. Not everyone shares your sordid history.

You, sir, are definitely funnier than I am.
Sordid history? I've been married for almost too decades. You know why? Because i treat my spouse like a human being. When you deny the obvious, you are only perpetuating your ignorance. Smh.

The dating and family culture in the western world is quite antithetical to ours here in Nigeria. The man is/was the unmistakable head of the relationship and household. Over there, they do "equality tinz", which doesn't sit well with the average African man. Hence, why our brothers think coming back to familiar terrain to pick a wife is ideal.

Alas, our Nigerian girls have become more scandalous than the Kardashians, foolishly copying but, unfortunately, not understanding how to handle these freedoms the west promises and presents.

You might laugh at these Nigerian men coming back home to marry, but know this, even oyibo men are increasingly refusing to marry oyibo women. You don't have to believe me, Google is your friend. Google "mgtow", that should lead you to interesting discoveries.

If I was those guys, I frankly don't know what I would do, I'd maybe move back to Nigeria and marry here. I cannot live in obodo oyibo, before one woman will divorce me and kick me out of my house and I will still be paying the mortgage. Tufiakwa. I reject evil in my life.

Thank you.
You are funny. You think if the societal structure in Nigeria was normal the divorce rate wouldn't be ten times higher than what exists in America? No one wants to be treated like slaves and Nigerian women are basically treated as such. The reason they are afraid to leave their husbands in Nigeria is because of the economic and legal realities that exist in the country. Both factors do not favor them. They know how difficult it would be to survive without the surpport of their husband especially when kids are involved. To make matters worse, the legal system does not favor them. A man can wake up one morning and chase his wife out of their matrimonial home and bring in someone else that same day and nothing will happen. Come and try that shiit over here. The reason the divorce rate in Nigeria is so low is because of fear on the part of women. It is that simple.
