synticate: Note 8 is now running on A10 and MIUI 12 though. The update is QCOMIXM 12.0.2 and everyone including those on the previously-stalled 11.0.11. You can download and install. |

Morphinne: There's bug issues for those on 11.0.11 on RN8 so you can't update yet. Chill for now... Till when is what we don't know. 2 Likes |

Dottune: LOL. You're correct and even the developers have admitted to working on the bug on priority basis. People on 11.0.11 couldn't get the update because of a bug and it has been reported. Let's hope they work on it soon and not start posting us again. |

festwiz: I get it. It's just weird that almost half of what makes the MIUI 12 a "new" UI is somewhat, and somehow missing on that of RN8. Man has resolved to unlocking bootloader... We move. 2 Likes |

Folahanmi19: LOL. I knew about the lack of some features from the CN update. In the next two weeks, global rollout will be out sha so we move. I don't know why they removed some features though. |

Keiyadosh: It's even becoming tiring seeing people attack for complaining about something. The core of the update is the features. Of what use will the updates be if the features ain't there? No OEM is perfect with their releases but once you point out Xiaomi's errors/problems here, your head to the guillotine (by some folks!) I had to test my friend's RN8 on MIUI 12/Android 10 and searched for the navigation thingy and it's still not there. It's a native android 10 feature not even a MIUI thingy. The floating windows? He has moved on.. LOL. 5 Likes |

genius43: Okay. I probably raised the bar too high. I was actually thinking the navigation bar thingy was an Android 10 feature but still shocked it's absent. I'll stick to your reason for the floating windows though but then... |
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by BoluwajiPieters: 12:04am On Oct 23, 2020 |
Anyone wanna talk about why Xiaomi removed Android 10 navigation bar/pill and floating windows (from recent page) on MIUI 12/Android 10 update for Redmi Note 8? The whole thing still feels like Android 9 sef. Omoh, RN8/8T na bad business sha. E be things. |

olanreyman: LOL. Hopefully Xiaomi doesn't disappoint me but if the A10/MIUI 12 doesn't come before the start of next month, then that'd be some f****d up shit. |
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by BoluwajiPieters: 11:43pm On Sep 27, 2020 |
Zeroenochone: LOL. You're correct with everything else but you'd definitely get Android 10 and MIUI 12 but not just very soon. Maybe even towards the end of the year (Say November December...) |

Mrcalxy: Samsung A30s was released August/September last year and got Android 10 update around April. Redmi note 8 was released August/September last year and is yet to get Android 10 update. Samsung A20 and co is also running on Android 10. I'm not saying there's a craze or something about the whole MIUI 12 or Android 10 thingy but then I'm reiterating that when people complain about lack of "expected updates," it's normal. 2 Likes |
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by BoluwajiPieters: 5:50pm On Sep 26, 2020 |
Mrcalxy: You say? Most Samsung A series that shipped with Android 9 already got Android 10. Some got as far back as April. Google pixels and Samsung if quick update is the deal. |

NeoWanZaeed: I can't say for sure what's causing the abandonment eh... Some people will say it's SD 665 processor while some will say the delay is 'cause they're bundling both MIUI 12 and A10 together at the same time. What I can only say is the outcry by users is totally normal and shouldn't be downplayed for any reason. 2 Likes |
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by BoluwajiPieters: 10:41am On Sep 26, 2020 |
genius43: Sure. That of Mi CC9E is there too. Just that there are more Redmi note 8 users than Mi CC9E so the voices of the former is louder. |
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by BoluwajiPieters: 10:32am On Sep 26, 2020 |
genius43: This issue is Xiaomi exclusive? Cos it looks like other OEMs don't have issues with android updates on SD 665. I'm not sure they're fixing that of RN8/8T soon sha. We'll have to chill until end of the year before any "meaningful" update shows. 1 Like |
