First of all, you've been working in telecommunication sector since 2016, that's 5 good years of experience. So you have a good option of going for PGD in related courses... Also, since you're a licensed Nurse/Midwifery with few years of experience, you can opt for a diploma/certificate in that line as well (the only problem could be that you've been out of the system for about 5 years)

Focus on getting admission first, and during that time start to arrange for your proof of funds. Make sure your Mom's businesses are registered, so that she can easily proof the source of her income. She should as well have a bank account. If her business is always on cash, you can make sure the money pass through the account in other for her to establish a good flow. Also, her landed properties should have required documents to show for it. If it's on rent, she can provide receipts to show that she also make money from it.

Concerning your sister, you don't have any problem. During your application, include her name as your sibling(s), because legally you are. Being related by blood or adoption still prove you're siblings. After your application has been successfully approved and you land for Canada, she can start her own application.

I'll try to answer to the best of my knowledge.

1.proof of funds is only required when you have deficits.

2. See ties as your attachment to a country i.e what are the things that would always make you return to your home country. Could be properties, wife, children, good job, investments. I like to see it as there are no weak ties, your tie is either strong to or away from your home country

3. Measures to take while applying, this differs for individual application but generally just prepare. Sometimes the interview might not go how you want it to, but if you're prepared you won't be taken by surprise. Ensure you fill DS160 by yourself, crosscheck to prevent any discrepancy, don't take the visa as a do or die affair (visas are never supposed to be this hard, just the state of our nation that led to this scrutiny ). You might not get on your first trial but if you really want it, don't give up.

4. You can find supervisor anywhere. Notably use Google scholar to view their current research work. The use the sci-hub website to freely download any of their papers and read up. Then you can send a mail (from the faculty page of the school, their email addresses are there). To be safe, any social media handle you're putting up on your DS 160 make it pristine and free from anything that could implicate you. They actually do check handles most times.

You plan to apply as from next year. But for fall 2022 some good schools have deadline of December 15th (considered for funding). So it's always best you plan towards your cohort early - writing your standardized exams prior to the application. But then never say never.

I've a couple of questions for the house as I'm still in the "documents gathering" and aiming to start applying to schools as from next year after taking GRE and TOEFL.

2. I've read about family ties causing denials. What's strong enough as family ties in Nigeria and what's too weak (that can precipitate rejection?)

3. I noticed the whole process requires patience, perseverance and perfection (to an extent) but, can anyone outline general measures to take while applying?

4. About looking for potential supervisors, can a hefty LinkedIn profile play a part? Also, can anyone help out with if VOs do background checks Viz: social media platforms and all before interviews?

I know these questions must have been asked before but maybe I skippee it while reading through the thread but I'd really appreciate responses or if anyone have saved links to where the questions have been answered. Thank you!

For now, still looking out for schools offering the course I want; pharmaceutical sciences or Pharmacology and applied therapeutics as I've a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree with a relatively good grade (4.2/5).

I'm sorry but you do not qualify for an F1 visa at this time under section 241(b). You can read through this document to understand why.

You'll have to DCA. How much did you buy the coin on Luno? If you bought it more than #112k+, then it's a loss for you if you transfer it to Binance because the actual value of the coin is around that range (and even subtracting network fee will put it around 108-110k.) If you can place ads and look for people who use Luno to trade, you can sell to them around 250-280k. How did you buy it? From an independent seller right?

If you didn't buy it on Luno for more than 112k+, then you can send it to Binance.

The value of your coin is grossly exaggerated on Luno. One of the reasons I stopped using it. If you can sell off the coin using Luno rates and using the money to buy the same coin on Binance, it's better than transfering the coins to Binance directly cos your 0.08+ETH is #112k+ in Binance. If you see at, say, 300 or #250k+ on Luno (which is going to be hard thing because people don't really deal with Luno rates,) you can buy the same and even more of the coin with the money on Binance.

I don't know about Asaba but it shouldn't be this expensive. Just get someone on the inside (preferably a high ranking official,) settle him, submit your details and follow-up on the process..

UPDATE ON COLLECTION

So today 26/8/2021 i decided to go for collection (no Sms from immigration) arrived at the command 7:20am had to wait till they open at 8:00am. We were addressed by an officer who directed collection through a path way and then to be seated under a canopy.

We were asked to drop our enrollment slip in a box and wait for our names to be called. At about 9:20 my name was called and collected after entering my name In a register. While waiting i heard lots of gist by people who paid as much as 80/100k for agent i couldn't help but laugh .

Festac command does not value dicothomy of agent/cutting corners

Passport issued since 14 july 2021 captured 22nd June 2021

I did my capture today. Not DIY though. I doubt if it'll be DIY friendly cos even after paying way more than the official charges for it, at the final stage of the capturing, the person there was still asking if I've anything for him. Paid #33k in total too.

OP should involve the police and other military men in getting to the root of the matter. You can also involve private investigators. It's almost as clear as day that either the seller, omcipet or the driver involved is trying to play smart or the three aforementioned parties ganged up to dupe you.

1. Why didn't the driver call you before leaving Lagos for Ibadan or why didn't Omcipet inform you that he's about to send the phone? I've had deals with macbeyland, giddieberry, jboix and some other dealers here and all of them inform me before sending packages down and even go to the point of following up to ensure I get my package safe and sound.

2. Why is bdemix not saying anything about the text messages you sent to him about address and delivery on 12/12/2020?

3. Something is not adding up with bdemix constant denial of the fact that you two initially agreed to sending it directly to you and not waybilling. I wish there was call recordings or more of your conversations..

Left to me, I'd say these guys are just trying to act smart about the whole thing. Maybe nothing was even sent or there was a connivance with the driver to stage a robbery and make it look like your package was stolen en route. You need to really take this up.
