We pressed well yesterday though, making the newcastle players play more of long balls, it is our defending setup against counter attack I am worried about.

Our own defensive play is shaky due to having no decent DMF, so when teams do attack us (like Newcastle courageously did yesterday, to their credit) we can be shaky. Hopefully with most teams we will score enough to overcome our defensive problems, but it will be interesting to see how that will work out against the top teams.

Btw, was really impressed with Lingard yesterday, apart from his goal, he seemed to understand what Ronaldo wanted in his style of play.

He didn't play DM for us . Only on very few occasions. Our DMs since Ferguson has been Blind, Carrick, Schweisteiger, Sneiderlin, Matic, Fred/McTominay.

Every sensible person knows that. When there was no Dm available , we actually played with a fluid Midfield 3 with no specific Dm. Only a moro.n and an eplipetic patient would say Herrera was a Dm for United.

James started off his United career with goals in his first few matches and we saw how that ended. Allow Sancho thrive at his own pace. We know he is a slow starter before now.

The second goal was due to the speed of the shot/ball. He did not see the ball, he only knew Ronaldo was taking a shot and the ball went past him like a lightning.

Ronaldo cannot play as a lone striker. He starts on the Wing and have license to roam which is already going to cause trouble to the team set up and secondly Ronaldo is even more lazy than Martial in terms of pressing. Ronaldo is only the board signing and In my opinion a big mistake.

One question Where exactly is Ronaldo going to play? This impromptu signing of Ronaldo raises more questions than answers cause I see it affecting both Rashford, Bruno and even Greenwood. He is clearly the board signing and not Ole.
