Residents of Owerri, Imo state capital, woke up to a shocking and gory sight this morning after spotting a dead body in the middle of the road. It was gathered that the lady who was apparently killed by unknown assailants and her naked body dumped along Port-Harcourt road - had some of her body parts removed.

Her head and one breast were removed by the attackers suspected to be ritualists after one of her legs was badly injured.

The shocking corpse cause tension and unrest among residents and passersby who gathered at the scene. 

The police authorities have been alerted as the corpse is yet to be evacuated.

A lady has been hospitalised after suffering an unfortunate mishap in Nnewi area, Anambra state. According to Christabeler Akunna, she went to visit her friend when the accident happened which saw her injure badly after falling from a building.

It was revealed that the lady was chatting with her friend on the balcony of a two-storey building when she decided to rest on the rail not knowing it was not strong. Immediately she leaned on it, she fell from the building and broke her body parts including femur, patellar Jaw, teeth and ankles.

She was rushed to Nnewi Teaching Hospital where she received some treatment after she recovered from consciousness.

The lady who lost some tooth - ate liquid food for about four months and also went for local bone setting for five months, all to no avail.

Some Facebook users have reached out to the wounded lady in order to come to her aid.

A community was shocked when officials swung into action to stop a marriage ceremony of a 15-year-old girl.

The wedding which was about to hold yesterday in Mumbwa district, Zambia, was stopped when World Vision officials and various stakeholders stormed the venue. 

According to world vision they say the named girl was too young for marriage adding that they are going to sponsor the girl to school.

World Vision Zambia is on crusade to protect young girls from early marriages in the country.

However the man who was scheduled to marry a the teenage girl complained that the organisation has put him in depression after stopping their marriage ceremony.

The 26 Year old said it was unfair for the organisation to treat him in such a way of humiliating him in public and bringing the police along as if he was a criminal.

The marriage ceremony has since been cancelled.

A woman was arrested after allegedly brutalising her housemaid with a hot knife. According to reports, the pregnant woman allegedly used hot knife to burn her maid's bum after wasting time while sent on an errand. It was also alleged that this is not the first time this kind of brutal punishment is being meted out on the little girl.

Report has it that due to the woman's condition, the police are refusing to prosecute her.

Neighbours saw the little girl walking with her legs open and she showed them wat the wicked madam did to her. And d matter was reported to d police. The police have refused to prosecute her because she is pregnant with heaven knows which angel.

A mild drama occurred few minutes ago at Inandagana polling unit in Lokoja, Kogi state following today's by-election in Lokoja/Kogi Federal constituency. A former senator from Kogi west senatorial district, Smart Adeyemi, was booed by the crowd and chased away by voters.

A trending video posted online shows the moment the smiling former senator was attacked by the crowd who removed his cap after he was booed out of the polling unit.

His security aides tried to stop the crowd who had already surrounded the ex-lawmaker during the chaotic moment.

Meanwhile, Members of the All Progressive Congress  (APC) in Kabba- Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency pf Kogi State has adopted former Senator, Smart Adeyemi, as their sole candidate for the  2019 Kogi West senatorial election.

A member of the U.S. Army, Mr Garrick Michael, has been arrested by operatives of the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (F-SARS), of the Police Command over alleged advance fee fraud.

The Commissioner of police, Mr Dasuki Galadanchi, disclosed this on Wednesday in Owerri while presenting to Journalists the suspect, Michael, and other suspects involved in different crimes ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping and child trafficking.

Galadanchi said Michael is an American citizen who specialised in defrauding women of their huge money under the pretext of securing American visa for them.

He named victims of the suspect as Sylva Chineyenwa, Wuchi Peace and Duny Glory.

Michael said he returned to Nigeria to visit his wife who resided in the country before he met his three alleged victims.

He said his business deal with the women was still valid before his arrest.

The commissioner also said that a  kidnapper who had been on the police blacklist, one Reginald Durunzenwata, was arrested on Aug. 4 and would soon be charged to court.

He said the suspect was allegedly involved in the kidnap and murder of a businessman, Chidi Eburuaji, in Imo, who was kidnapped and murdered in July.

Galadanchi said apart from kidnapping, the suspect also specialised in diverting petrol tankers.

Another Nigerian man has been killed in South Africa. The deceased has been identified as a 36-year-old Mr. Ogu Emeka Chisom from Ehume Obowo in Imo State, Nigeria.

The murder was said to have occurred in the wee hours of Sunday, 5th of August 2018, at a tavern/bar in Blood River, Seshego in Limpopo province.

Information gathered by the Nigerian Citizens Association South Africa (NICASA), indicate that the deceased was attacked by a group of local men and severally stabbed to death while dispossessing him of his valuables before getting away unhindered.

The attackers also left their victim to die in the pool of his own blood.

The national officers of NICASA led by the President, Hon Prince Ben Okoli, swung into action in collaboration with Limpopo provincial PRO Comrade John Ezeke and the brother to the deceased.

The victim's corpse was deposited in the morgue and a case of murder opened at Seshego police station.

The matter has been channelled to all relevant authorities concerned including the Nigerian authorities in South Africa..

Just two days after some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), stormed the Abuja House in London to protest against president Muhammadu Buhari, another set of protesting Nigerians have gathered again at the presidential abode for the same reason.

President Buhari is currently on a 10-working day vacation in London..

The latest protest by Nigerians happened few hours ago as the police were called to control the situation.

According to one of the protesters who did a live video on Facebook, they explained to the police about their intention of the protest which they say is against the president coming to the United Kingdom for medical treatment anytime he's sick.

The protesters said that the president should go back to his country and develop it because it's only developed countries that have quality medical facilities..

The London police allowed the protesters to continue with their demonstration as they warned them to do it peacefully.

The protesters also brought pictures showing the poor conditions of Nigerian health system which they presented in front of the Abuja House. They said the president should be using the local hospitals he is offering to other Nigerians. They said, 'Go back home and use everything you provided for Nigerians'.

While the protest was going on, a vehicle which was said to be conveying the president, left the Abuja House without uttering a word to them.

Another shocking video is currently making rounds online showing how soldiers reportedly stormed in community in Northern Cameroon and allegedly opened fire on some villagers who were apprehended in search of some terrorists. According to Ray Timah who posted the video, the soldiers also burnt many houses in the area while on a 'killing spree'.

The video which has gone viral online has sparked outrage amongst internet users.

Some weeks ago, an investigation by Amnesty International experts gathered credible evidence that Cameroonian soldiers were involved in the horrific extrajudicial executions of two women and two young children following a footage which went viral. 

Cameroon government arrested four soldiers believed to have been involved in killing the unarmed civilians who were said to have allegedly aided Boko Haram members.

“Four soldiers were arrested on Sunday. They are suspected of being the authors of the executions in the video,” said an army officer in Cameroon’s Far North region near the border with Nigeria.

A Nigerian man popularly known as 'Ratty the millionaire', who was stabbed by some cultists in Malaysia, is responding to treatment after he was rushed to the hospital.

The brutal attack was said to have happened during a clash between the Vikings and the Black Axxe in Cheras, Malaysia.. The victim was stabbed gruesomely by his attackers was left lying on the ground with his intestines out. .

He is reported to be doing well and will soon be discharged from the hospital.

The factional leader and embattled general superintendent Of Assemblies Of God Nigeria, Rev Paul Emeka, now moves with security as crisis continues to rock the leadership of the church. The security detail now follows with the embattled leader around as efforts are being to resolve the lingering crisis. 

Meanwhile, supporters of two factions of the Assemblies of God Church in Abuja last weekend clashed over the leadership tussle in the church. The factions exchanged words in a heated conflict at the premises of the church at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja over the position of District Superintendent.

According to reports, trouble started when a faction of the church, which recognizes Reverend Chidi Okoroafor as the General Superintendent, attempted to prevent their purported suspended District Superintendent, Reverend Nicholas Anyanwu from granting press interview in the church premises.

The embattled pastor however belonged to another faction that recognizes one Rev. Paul Emeka as the authentic spiritual leader of the church.

The situation was brought under control by a police patrol team that arrived the scene to separate them.

The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, on 3 August 2018, conducted a successful attack on a Boko Haram Terrorists’ (BHTs) Hideout in Daban Masara in Borno State.

The surgical air strikes were conducted on the strength of credible intelligence which indicated that remnants of BHTs on the Lake Chad Islands were hiding out in settlements at the Southern part of the lake, including DABAN MASARA, and were amassing in some buildings for a meeting.

An air interdiction mission was therefore planned and executed to destroy 2 out of the green roofed buildings within DABAN MASARA that were identified as BHT rendezvous points.

Upon receiving the intelligence, the ATF dispatched a NAF Alpha Jet aircraft, along with an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, to attack the 2 buildings where the BHTs were gathered with bombs.

Overhead the area of interest, the Alpha Jet successfully released its bombs on the targets in successive strikes leading to massive destruction of the target buildings as well as the neutralization of several BHTs.

Congratulations are in order for Chineme Ojukwu, the daughter of late Biafran warlord, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who graduated from the University of Brighton in England. 

The young lady graduated bagged a second class upper degree from Business Administration at the UK university. 

Her family members were present at her graduation ceremony to support her as her mother revealed how her late husband (Ojukwu) would have loved and been so proud of this moment. 

Bianca Ojukwu who shared pictures from the graduation ceremony, wrote; 

My dear friends, Thank God with me. Abuzi kwam ‘nne a graduate’. My beloved daughter Chi has just graduated from the University of Brighton with a 2:1 in Business Administration. I thank Almighty God for blessing me with a daughter who has literally been like a mother to me. I call her Nne m o.

This would have been a very proud moment also for her daddy. He used to call her ’Daddys secretary’ or ‘secretary gburugburu’ because as a child She loved to spend her afternoons after school with him in his office, playing with papers on the floor.

How time flies! It was a splendid ceremony and much anticipated family reunion.

Her brothers came in from the States while her Aunty, Ambassador Lilian Onoh, currently Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Namibia also flew into the UK for the ceremony. We joined friends for the post ceremony cocktail and then headed to Brighton Pier for a seaside treat!

Some passengers were rescued after their boat capsized on Bonny river in Rivers state. The boat mishap which happened on Friday (yesterday), saw many passengers stranded in the river before help immediately came their way.

Two empty boats who were behind the capsized boat - rescued the passengers. 

Last year, seven persons were killed in a boat mishap along the Bonny waterway in Rivers state.

According to reports, Bonny waterway has recorded more boat mishaps in recent times including security challenges especially pirate attacks.
