Dizzyyish: Oh okay. Since you started has your study schedule been strict or kinda on-and-off? Someone told me half a year should be enough to know the basics, but I think he might be downplaying it a bit. Also, are you using linux mint? It's been a bit on-and-off o. Consistency for half a year should be enough depending on residual knowledge and rate of assimilation . I'm using Ubuntu |

Dizzyyish: Terraform? Bro going hard... I'm on python. I was going through a 12hr python vid on the basics, but I wasn't properly understanding some things, so I decided to start afresh with "automating the boring stuff" book.
But how'd you get to terraform so quickly or you started a long time ago? Also, I feel like I'm learning unnecessary stuff, like maybe I should just learn automating then move on to linux basics? Yea, even though I'm still a beginner but I started learning August last year Bro, I won't say some things are unnecessary stuff because DevOps involves putting a lot of things together to achieve one thing...so no knowledge is actually a waste. Like now, even though I just started Terraform but I've found out I need to refresh things on Linux |

Dizzyyish: Hey boninho , how's ur progress? You on python/go or you've moved to something else now? Greetings bro....Progress has been slow lately due to some factors but we still pushing. I'm on terraform now....just got started though How's yours going? Trust you've been pushing too |

Can you take me up on programming pls, or give me links where I can learn. I want to go into AI and machine languages Actually, I'm still learning the ropes boss, still developing competence. However, as regards AI, Python, Java, C++, Julia are widely recommended programming languages to get acquainted with |

Dizzyyish: Oh thanks bruv. That Linux is it recommended? Like I heard one should at least have a working understanding of it. Yea, working within only Microsoft space is more strenuous and provides limited job opportunities. Linux is highly recommended |

Dizzyyish: Seems solid. With all this how long do you think it'll take to get good and get a job? Well, the field is a continuously evolving area. A year on the average should be enough to get a good hang of everything and then keep developing competence further. For someone already having programming knowledge, 6months to a year can get you up to speed. Although nothing is cast in stone, job can also come within the periods aforementioned depending on the role. |

CaveAdullam: I agree.
We do like to think that with the power of positive thinking, a positive mindset, discipline, determination, consistency, everyone can achieve whatever they desire. To some extent it's true but there are more to it.
Genetics (IQ, immune system, facial outlook, height), socioeconomic status, family background, race, country, politics, economy, are an important determinants more than positive mindset on how successful every individuals will turn out. What about unforseen circumstances like sickness, war, natural disasters, fire outbreak, accidents.
This is a sad reality the populations of humans are oblivious to. Humans that are highly successful are those that were favoured on the positive side of the aforementioned factors. The majority at the bottom of the hierarchy always think those at the top got there by a positive mindset which is false. And after adhering to a positive mindset with nothing in return, many do resort to criminal activities while others finds solace in religion.
Imagine in a third world poverty nation like Nigeria, where the only mode of escape out of penury, pain, hunger, useless politics is via the internet (either for good or bad purpose). What then would have happened to the entire population had it been the internet is absent?
Only few will eventually struggle their way through to the top(even the top got categories. LoL)! While the majority will never make it except by pure serendipity. Acknowledging this with a weak heart can either drive one to misanthropic, nihilistic or pessimistic tendencies.
Positive mindset is good. However, if you eventually get to the top, kudos. And if you never get there, kudos too, you tried even though the universe never favored you.
A sad reality indeed!
Thanks. This reminds me of a post Martinez wrote in the past, "10 hard facts of life"...the 6th in particular |

Dizzyyish: I'm also a beginner. Can I get some insight on your draft cuz my bearings are a bit off.. Below is the simple draft I use as a beginner( DevOps Engineer) but there's certainly more beyond these Foundation Layer Operating system: Linux Programming language: Python, GoLang Public Cloud: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure End to end process automation pipeline Configure: Terraform, Ansible Version: Gitlab Package: Docker, Lambda Deploy: Jenkins, Codedeploy Run: ECS, Kubernetes Monitor: ELK Stack, Prometheus However, the test phase is missing in the process automation pipeline draft above. That's another aspect to consider. |

This is not new. There are things behind what the mere physical eyes can see
There's a well known house at Kingsway Road, Enugu. After the owner died, no man has been able to rent that house and lived peacefully for long. It's a true example of house of spirits. You will put something on fire, coming back it has been removed, you'll hear chatters, people discussing, curtains closing by themselves when you are the only one around. No one knows what had transpired there while the owner was alive.

Personally, I like respect. Apart from what I'm served, any other thing I desire, I go outside and settle myself.
However, so long it's not habitual, women should be tolerant. If it was her own brother, all these drama won't exist. |

Never take what doesn't belong to you no matter how little it is. I just found myself growing up like this, not out of any religious inclination. For e.g., If someone should give me money to give to you, if I get to see you 5years later, I'll return the exact same currency notes to you. |

As a child, we used to sing.....traffic light, traffic light.....you MUST obey the traffic light, red say STOP, yellow say READY, green say GO
Never ignore warning signals, never
She's for the streets, dump her immediately
You've already done worse training her and helping her family when you've not even married her. She would just finish the university and tell you she's no longer interested, what will you do?
You must learn from other people's experiences, you mustn't have to wait for it to happen to you

Programming › Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by boninho: 5:41pm On Sep 01, 2021 |
Greetings house
There's a dataset I'm trying to run multiple linear regression on. In the dataset description, they identified the target variable. However, among the dataset were also two columns, named random variables (rv1, rv2) and they said it's for testing the regression model and to filter non predictive attributes.
My question now is: those two columns, am I going to include them under independent variables while running the regression.
How do I use both columns to test the model and filter out non-predictive attributes
I need help please |

obembet: Not only greedy. Messi is selfish and wicked. Imagine club that has stand with him for many years left when they are in financial trouble.
Useless and greedy guy. Even playing for free, Barca still won't be able to register him. Club's wagebill is at 90% without Messi....la Liga cap is at 70%. Blame the inadequacies of Bartomeus regime
Also, there's no selfishness anywhere. Messi alone contributed 30% of Barca's club revenue...so they are both beneficial to each other |
