Education › Re: I Feel Depressed With A CGPA Of 4.2+ by boninho: 9:31pm On Nov 24, 2019 |
Ithream: Just about yesterday after speaking with my Class advicer, I was left in a depressed state.
I am currently on my 400level IT and I am to return back to school this coming new year by January. He told me about my result. He said my CGPA is the highest so far. Which makes me his best student. I asked him for the exact CGPA which he replied with with a *4.06*. My God I wondered why he was glad to break such a sad news to me. I thought I had chances of making it a 4.1+ the previous semester. I told him thanks. But I know I wasn't Happy
I did the maths...and I found out that the highest CGPA I can make is 4.2+ after my final year(2 semesters left) I feel terrible right now. How can I shift it to 4.3+ Cgpa? I have heard of students borrowing courses but I don't really know if this could be one of their reasons for doing such.
NB: I am not in anyway trying to make it look like having such a CGPA is bad or I am ungrateful. It's just that I have plans of applying for scholarships to study abroad but won't such a Gp hinder me?
Pls I need someone to placate me with motivational words. I feel like a looser. After all these years of studies! What if I loose the passion for school or studies after returning next year? I feel real bad
What if I might even loose the chance of being the best graduating student of my set like my class adviser had said
Baba, calm down 4.0+ is good for full scholarship abroad, even 3.5+ will get you scholarship. CGPA is not the only yardstick for successful graduate study What will you tell me, I finished with 4.48/5....so close to first class, but no time for depression. I'm yet to even get a decent job too and also pursuing graduate study abroad Good grade is good but it's just one factor, doesn't guarantee anything Fire on , there are so many things ahead, be relentless |

The one I really advocate for is avoiding lateness and answering calls.
One question comes to mind...if you were to attend a job interview or visa interview, you'll never go late. Why go late to church services...most times you only go to the church only on Sundays sef
Or if you were in a meeting with the Governor over a contract, will your phone even ring out or say you go out to answer the call, never.
God demands absolute reverence.....there's nothing so important that can't wait for 2-3hrs for church service to end |

ThierryJay: Okay, thanks for the insight. Let's shake this table together. Going by your logic, Miroslav Klose is way better than CR7 based on international performances. After all, he has never gone to a World Cup without winning a medal. He was 3rd twice, 1st and 2nd once. Highest goal scorer in WC history. These are strongest international statistics relevant for a player not the mediocre records you are quoting above. The Ali Daei of Iran that has held the record of most international goals since forever, is not even ranked among the top 200 best players in history. So of what value are those statistics you are reeling out?
Does the above make Klose a better overall player than CR7? I don't think so. Therein lies your answer. You just contradicted yourself Oga.......what I stated is an isolated case..their performances at those tournaments. I did not mention being better overall as a player. Moreover, my first statement stated I still preferred Messi personally Klose world cup performances is better than CR7's...CR7's international performances are better than Messi's....simple For the records, the issue of better overall player is just perception/choice....judging by figures/records, both CR7 and Messi have comparable football statistics that makes it very hard to separate them |
Sports › Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Scores Hat-Trick As Portugal Win 6-0 Vs Lithuania by boninho: 12:49am On Nov 15, 2019 |
ThierryJay: I predicted this last weekend. What he could not do against AC Milan, the poor Lithuanian farmers and plumbers will suffer for it. Luxembourg is next by weekend. Flat track bully Ronaldo. You think being the GOAT is by racking up goals against Lithuania, Luxembourg, Andorra, Estonia and other sheep herding rural countries? When Messi has already scored a hat trick against almighty Brazil?
And it's so obvious Nairaland Mods are so pro-CR7. They quickly push news when he scores even if it's one goal to the front page while Messi news can take two days before it gets to frontpage. No matter what PR you guys do, it will not change the fact that CR7 will always be beneath the sole of Messi's feet football wise. True football peeps will never argue this. Messi for me is better than CR7 but abeg, if na only about international performances, CR7 is way ahead of him. You dey mention hattrick for Brasil friendly, CR7 scored hattrick against Spain at 2018 world cup...all time top scorer in Euros, all time top scorer in Euro qualifying, soon to be all time international goal scorer |

Firstly, the decision is controversial. The interpretation keeps varying across leagues. It's even more funny when the reason they gave was distance being too short for him to move his hand. If they mentioned B.Silva's hand touching the ball as the reason, I would have understood. In Serie A, I bet you both calls based on the reasons they gave would be penalties.
VAR will never be perfect but it eliminates errors more often than not. Everyone will have a fair share of one decision going for him or against him. One thing is certain, the table never lies....wherever you end up is where you deserve to be. Personally, I feel City's major worry isn't the loss but the fact that it leaves them 9points adrift but the truth remains they are not trailing by that margin because of Anfield's result |

farady: Okay depending on your location you will need to physically drop your applications with any of the IOCs, servicing companies like Schlumberger, Saipem, Dormanlong etc. I would have said visit their websites but less than 1% will respond. If you are in Lagos, just taking upon yourself to walk along the streets of VI and Lekki Phase 1. Funny thing is that near all of these companies especially the servicing group do not have sign boards. So you will do plenty of asking, like one guy on this thread that said it was a security man at of the banks on the Island directed him to a servicing company where he dropped his application.
Since you are already a graduate with a post graduate degree, I will advice you specify in you are willing to learn and gain experience. Include in your CV or application skills you have already acquire like being able to use the computer and good with Microsoft packages (e.g word, excel and PowerPoint). If you are not yet good in them please go register and learn. If you can add MS Project, very good. Don't put money in front oh. Say you are ready to work pro bono (free of charge) . Above all pray to God and commit your plans to Him, pray for His divine favour.
You can also reach out to beloved church members too. Thanks a lot. I reside in Port Harcourt. I will implement all you have said here and see how it goes |

Sports › Re: Guardiola: I Don't Know If We Can Catch Liverpool by boninho: 2:42pm On Nov 11, 2019 |
djon78: Well can't really say that. I never believed Liverpool will play city like an ordinary club yesterday. In Chelsea vs Liverpool games I have watched this season Chelsea even matched Liverpool man to man, they even outplayed them in supercup while in the league Chelsea were the better side in the second half of the game. Even in champions league got 4 points off game with Ajax that plays excellent football.
The only team that beat Chelsea convincingly was Man Utd, and none other this season. And this Chelsea team are getting better with every game. They have won past 6 league games. There is a strong belief coming up in those boys, Lampard is doing a marvelous work on that team. Firstly, circumstances determine how teams adjust... Liverpool had the luxury to sit back because they already had a 3 goal cushion, it's pointless pressing, attacking knowing the opponents you're playing and you already 3goals up. Concerning Chelsea, we are talking about Crystal palace, Burnley, Newcastle, Southampton, brighton...these are the past five games....palace, Newcastle and Brighton were played at home, Southampton have been abysmal so far....these are not games to start getting confident going to Etihad...it's good they are winning but come on, most of the opponents are no hopers....I mentioned Sheffield united, Leicester, Liverpool...3 opponents that have started the season well, Chelsea didnt win any...You mentioned Ajax, a team that had scored 4goals already then reduced to 9 men and Chelsea equalized around 70+mins, yet couldn't find one more goal at home for about 20mins left including added time. Losing at Etihad doesn't mean all the good works done so far has no meaning but believe me Chelsea will be beaten at Etihad after Int'l break |
