What did your lawyer say about your being joined as in interested party in the case?

As opposed to your empowering another interested party to get a judgement that has no bearing on your claims to the land? And which judgement will be delivered without awareness that you have some interest in the said land?

That way the judge will make a pronouncement that covers your interests in the matter.

Most lawyers actually prefer sweet jobs, charge and bail and the rest.

Even though he’s the one in charge of the acquisition and the rest, I can boldly say I am the one handling 90% of it.

I suggested it since last year, not forthcoming.

You need a serious legal counsel on this.

However, I question the family's effrontery? What make them think that involving you is a good bargain? ( To buy you over against the government ) They Possibly want you to acknowledge them which could be a serious mistake, and once you you give them the money it means you are on their side against your own interest which queries your right as the current owner of the land.

Just seek for a very experienced and smart lawyer's counsel

We got a land valued at around 70M to 100M last year may/june, CofO,survey and the rest showed that the land is legit but when we went to secure the land, we discovered that there's a serious litigation on the land.

Government claimed the lands in the area (prime location) from a family back in the 90s without compensating the family, only for the government to end up reselling such land to friends (private people) which we later got it from.

We've done a serious back and forth since last year and it's been hellish (Land wahala) and refund is no longer forthcoming because we sealed the deal already.

Now, the lawyer representing the family made a request yesterday that we should bring 10M  to offset the bills they've spent on the case and to settle the family members and that when the case finally fall in their favour, they will give us a preferential treatment (Maybe we will forgoo part of the land or we will rebuy the land)

NB: on all angles, it might take time but the case is in the family's favour just like the Magodo vs LASG recent case.

We coughed out everything on this land and we've spent blood,sweet and resources on this case since last year, i have a feeling paying the money they demanded won't solve anything even if they should eventually win the case, i don they think am sinceeee.

I couldn’t believe it when someone told me that a plot at Bucknor after Jakande estate towards ikotun is now #20M.
That area used to be swamp and for #300k you could get a plot there around 2006.

A quick question Ma, how do you navigate the stock market because it seems that field is not for the faint hearted.

2021 was bad and extremely bad for stock holders with most stocks falling as low as 75% from their ATH, I bought JMIA at around $50 and same Jmia is $9, several other tech/health related stocks, so how do one navigate the stock market to maximize profit and also minimize losses because it's been hell since 2020.

2) I believe in one way or the other, we all have something to contribute to Nigeria development which involves but not limited to REAL ESTATE and good houses to encourage development, if people in diaspora refuse to invest back home by building quality houses in their villages, local governments and states, how will most of these places develop? This, why the definition of SUCCESS is relative.
Retirement to some might be working hard for 50 years just to be able to rest for few years.

While some do not have the millions and they're "perceived" to be poor based on the generally accepted standard of wealth "House, latest clothes , Car and the rest" but, personally, these set of people sees themselves to be comfortable, having their personal farm and getting to eat fresh food while listening to their favourite songs every night.

Most people are not learning from what is happening to some families. Go to Lekki, Ikoyi and some high brow areas in Nigeria, only the aged-parents are staying in the massive duplexes. All the children and grand children are abroad. I have also noticed that most middle class and rich Nigerians are not even preparing their children for a life in Nigeria. They are preparing them for life abroad.

I already re-plannd and repurposed my current build for eventual conversion to self-contain and mini-flat and get myself a decent two bedroom bungalow, but with enough compound. I love big compounds more than big houses.

This! It doesn't matter how big our house is, the probability of our kids ever living in such houses after university graduation is very very very very low.

I understand your pain because i've been there.

When i started following the thread, NX3T was the first "Engineer" i had in mind to give my project to, he seemed like the best, professionally and he's in vogue.

I trusted NX3T too much to the extent that i could have recommended him for jobs even after i gave my job to wpgroom since he's an engineer in Ogun state.

When the whole accusations started, it felt like witchhunting, like maybe some were envious of NX3T, Man was too perfect to me, but when they linked him to Brabus and i read the 2016 saga, i was dissapointed but i felt he would change and prove others wrong this time around.

I defended him briefly last year but man, NX3T, you dissapointed a lot of people! You dissapointed a lot of guests in the section! Bro! You fall hands gannnnnn!

If i had given you the project naively, is this how i would be dragging you online daily? Omooor, i can't even pass through such experience again, the car debt issue drained me mentally and i can't imagine having to worry about an engineer holding down my money.
