Target some good law firms and apply for internships. With the internship experience, you can easily get a high paying job and also get to network with erudite legal professionals.
Instead of Masters, I suggests you write the ICSAN professional exams. Masters is a waste of time and money. |

Romance › Re: Can You Date And Marry A POS Operator...? by BornToSucced(m): 6:17pm On Jan 25, 2024 |
I got married to my wife who was a POS operator last year and it was the best decision of my life.
If someone had told me a POS business can generate an income of about 700k per month, I’d say it’s impossible.
Guess what, she prayed about what business she can do after failing to secure a job post NYSC, and this POS business was revealed to her. Despite her beauty and intelligence, she was humble enough to venture into the it.
You see this life, never underrate anybody or handwork. Just hustle legally and involve God. E go be like money r1tuals.
In this current world, money no longer reside in offices, but in the streets and corners of our cities. |
Travel › Re: USA Employment-based Immigration (EB-1,EB-2,EB-3 Visa) by BornToSucced(m): 3:37pm On Jan 03, 2024 |
Helpout12345: All the links you need have been posted by others already.
Because I know this is alot of information to someone new to this route. I will help to brake it down.
H1b, L1 are dual intent work visas but you need a US employer to sponsor you on these visas. Dual intent because you can adjust your immigration status to Permanent Residency from such visas when you arrive or living in the US.
Eb1b, Eb1C, Eb2 advance degree, Eb3 are Permanent residency visas but they also require an employer to sponsor you.
Eb1A and Eb2NIW (National Interest Waiver) are the only 2 sub categories that you can process without an employer sponsorship. This is because those are meant for the US to pull best brains from all over the world. They waive requirements of a job offer and employer sponsorship for these two sub categories knowing that the people that will qualify can easily land a job in the US, most likely contributed quickly to US interests.
It's not always easy for most foreigners to get employer sponsorship because of the rigor of the employer passing the Labor Certification requirements to proof that the employer cannot fill that job position with US citizens or Permanent Residents. This is why many people that can get Eb1A and NIW file for themselves.
Now to file NIW or 1A, first make sure you can provide well-documented evidences to support 4 out of the 10 criteria. I said 4 to be on safe side in case USCIS rejects any of your claims.
Then look for a good immigration lawyer that is also very familiar with your field of occupation to file I140 form for you.
To look for lawyers and read their reviews, visit www.avvo.com, you can also get a good lawyer by referral.
After you get approved on I140, you move to second stage of NVC where you submit processing fees and civil documents.
Third stage is different based on where you reside when you are going through this process. If you are already living in the US legally, your third stage is Adjustment of Status route. If you are outside the US, your third stage is Consular Processing route, where you will attend immigration visa interview in a US embassy in your country of residence.
There are so many information on this route, just be specific with your questions, so that you can get specific answers. Thanks for this information. |

That number include private individuals and corporates who were nominated by the federal government.
COP28 is a very restricted event, and invitation are usually focused on government representatives. So, the government register some private sector individuals as part of the FG’s delegation.
No matter how connected you are in Nigeria, if you’re not accredited for COP28, you cannot access the venue.

Klass99: Correct me if I am wrong but are you not the one who built his own house somewhere on the island? Your moniker rings a bell but there are other similar Born2...something monikers so I can't be certain. I sha hope you don't plan on selling that house for japa purposes.
You can do an online international masters from here or better still try for a scholarship (partial or fully funded) without having to use the bulk of your money for this MBA you want. The Lagos Business School offers MBA programmes and now Jim Ovia has a newly established business school right here in Lagos and if you know anything about Jim he doesn't build anyhow enterprises.
I am all about finding the most cost effective and efficient ways to achieve goals without breaking the bank or continuosly giving this oyibo people our money. The costs involved in this japa business genuinely feels like a rip off to me, they first came to our lands to reap our resources and several years later they are still ripping us off by making us think what we have is not good enough and taking chunks of our money to let us into their countries and we don't always receive the best treatment as immigrants with black skin. I am the one dear…..lol. I appreciate your advice. The points you raised are all valid and I have considered my options, which I am still considering. However, I can never contemplate selling my apartments to relocate……NEVER! |
Career › Re: Is Japa Worth It? by BornToSucced(m): 2:06pm On Jul 25, 2023 |
Klass99: Based on what you've shared japa is not worth it for these reasons;
1. Your pay of $3,000 makes sense in Naija and will benefit you more in Naija than jands. Don't ruin a good thing in your quest for something else. I was going to say "in your quest for something better" but I realized obodo is not actually better or as rosy as we like to think.
2. There is a global cost of living crises but some countries are worse hit than others, you have good friends who were honest with you, you best believe them. Watch international news on BBC or Al-jazeera and you'll become aware of this.
3. The narrative that our healthcare and educational sectors are totally wack, is a false and inaccurate one, don't buy into it. There are healthcare and educational institutions in the private sector, who provide quality and reliable services, for example Paelon Hospital in VI, Convenant University and a few others. You can afford them with your kind of pay or are these services now free of charge overseas?
What is it you want to go and do in obodo that you cannot achieve here? No seriously, this is a valid and introspective question you should reflect on. If I were you I will sit my butt down in Naija and actively look into home ownership, instead of packing plenty money to give a foreign country as migration fees. With the kind of money we pay these countries they should at least have 6 months accommodation or a temp job of 6 months waiting for us, to help us adapt and find our feet, then after 6 months they can say you are on your own and it will be a very fair bargain. Can their own citizens cough out the kind of money we do? I am also facing the same dilemna the op is facing. But the main reason I intend to jappa is because of stunted career growth and lack of promotion. At least travel and get and MBA, then make a career switch from there. Sometimes money is not enough! |
Family › Re: Why Did You Finally Decide Character Over Beauty When Picking Your Wife by BornToSucced(m): 2:15pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
Bros. When you meet a woman, it’s her beauty that would initially attract you. As you get to know her, it’s her character that would sustain you.
So the only way not to get confused is to know exactly what you want from your potential wife - beauty over character, or vice versa. That’s what works for me when I got married.
Take note, there’s no perfect human being, and as such, no matter how careful you are in choosing your spouse, be ready for some unpleasant behaviors you have to endure.
Know this and know peace! |
Family › Re: For The Married Peeps What Are The Things Nobody Told You About Marriage? by BornToSucced(m): 10:00am On Jul 15, 2023 |
Marriage is hard Being single is hard Being a single mother or father is hard Being divorced is hard You must choose your hard.
I am married and it’s the best decision I ever made. Just make sure you marry the right person and be ready to work together, everything else just happens naturally.
The irony is that, I have better savings now compared to when I was single. When I was single, I was wasting money on different ladies at the club, restaurants, and urgent 2k. I tested different kinds of ladies just to feel good as a young man. But in the end, I felt so empty!
Marriage is like your own business, you choose how to run it to be profitable. Anybody that says marriage is a scam is still a child.
I was at the hospital once and I saw a couple in their 60s walked in. Obviously, the man was sick and it was the wife that drove him to the hospital. I observed how the wife was running around for the lab tests and other administrative tasks. One thing came to my mind, what if this man was not married? What if the wife was no longer alive? It rang in my head that day the importance of a good spouse….lifelong companion especially at old age.
Also, in another instance, I got to know a certain wealthy family, but divorced. The man was a US based Doctor but relocated to Nigeria…..Guess what? No wife, no children living in his big mansion, except domestic staff. Out of depression, the man has developed a mental disorder. The painful thing is that, even the man’s siblings don’t have time to spend with him. His massive hospital has turn to a deserted hospital.
Just marry right and you will have the best years of your life. But be ready to support, groom, nurture, and inspire each other. |

njelrapheal: How much did it cost you and how much panels, inverter rating and batteries did you purchase. The cost depends on what capacity you need for your household items. In my case I bought 2 Genus batteries, and Genus 2.5kva Inverter from Simba. The solar panels were Canadian used which cost me about 50k or thereabouts for each. I can't really remember the exact costs. I bought the panels online from a dealer in Alaba. You can get one battery and 2 panels for now, then add more batteries and panels in the long run. |
Family › Re: What I Noticed In My Neighborhood by BornToSucced(m): 7:21pm On Jun 28, 2023 |
Nicols: Correct guy. I had 1m and was looking for a loan of 700k to meet up with the 1.7m quotation that my friend who happens to be a solar expert gave me until my wife suggested that we go to Alaba and buy the little we can get for the moment before prices go up. Surprisingly, we got everything that we needed for the installation within 1m. Everything apart from cable which I late bought from my neighborhood. That's the way bro. I bought my solar panels from Alaba as well. |
Family › Re: What I Noticed In My Neighborhood by BornToSucced(m): 7:47pm On Jun 27, 2023 |
Please if you are reading this and you earn 150k upward, please save and switch to solar.
I know the initial capital investment can be high, but try. In my case, I saved for 6 months to pay for the entire system. To add to that, I bought the batteries, inverter, and solar panels myself, then call a technician to install. |
Family › Re: Can I Survive In Akwa Ibom With 1M Account Balance At 22? by BornToSucced(m): 1:42pm On Jun 07, 2023 |
I am from Akwa Ibom and i can guarantee you that my state is the safest, affordable, and environmentally friendly in Nigeria. However, one of the greatest challenges in the state is unemployment, although there are lots of thriving SMEs across the state. My greatest concern isn't you going to Akwa Ibom, but what you want to offer to Akwa Ibomites. Okada was since banned within Uyo and environs, and the POS businesses within the states have been severely impacted by stiffed competition and unfavorable banking policies of Emefile and Buharinomics. My advice - discard those 2 business ideas ASAP. In addition, don't even venture into any business you cannot manage yourself - I see you emphasizing that you intend to employ people to manage for you....who does that for a new business? Do this:Do a market assessment when you visit Uyo, and explore what products (food items, essentials, fashion etc.) that you can trade between Uyo and Lagos (buy and sell). In this way, you trade & learn without wasting money on rentals and equipment. When you have gained a solid graps of your craft, you can then disburse your 1m into it. Lastly, be focused also to avoid being distracted by my hospitable, pretty, and ever loving sisters Cheers! |

I took a loan of 10m and added my own total savings of over 5m to buy 2 units of 3 bedroom flats. I was also charged interest by the property owner. Brothers, I almost ran mad because i was stuck financially, and was temporarily broke for sometime...I also regretted why i took such a financial risk knowing well my annual income can't meet up.
The good news is, I later paid fully for the apartments even before the deadline. I am now a landlord and living in one of the flat. To add to that, the property value has risen by over 70%.
Till today, that's my biggest investment decision, and I have learned greatly from that decision. Salary alone can't make you rich!
Lesson learned: You have to take some calculated risk if you want to succeed in life. |

Please, as much as you want be a home owner in Lagos, be very strategic and pray for God's guidance.
In Lagos, you can own a house in your 30s, and homeless in your 50s because of fraudulent government and its officials.
If possible and depending on your levelof income, focus on developing in your own state capital, then build up funds and buy a land/house in a genuine estate here in Lagos to avoid this scenario.
I feel like crying for these Magodo landlords, especially at this trying times. |
