Do u fink saying that 300 girls are missing will move everyone, it does not move me one bit. They are victims of war which is a norm non wars.

The military have done everything in their powers to get them back.

Our priority now is to suppress boko haram...
The military wants Nigerians to forget so that they can move on, but NO, we will never forget. Where ever those girls are, they should go and bring them back.

I just feel for Gen olukolade, even though he was not apolitical as expected of him as a military man before and during d just concluded presidential polls. I thank God that Gen Olukolade said he has a life after military career, which is a big lesson to all security chiefs not b behaving like mini god, when they are still in office, because they still have a life after service.I was very disappointed at GEN Olukolade when he said that OBJ was a disgrace to d Nigeria military. I want to advise Oby Ezekwesili not to use the bring back our girls campaign to tarnish both d images and integrity of the Nigeria Army and Chris Olukolade.
Nice comment. I believe we are wicked people in Nigeria. If Ezekwesili had not taken this issue personally and fought the Nigerian Army fiercely, those girls will become memories and their families will be left alone to died in their pains.

It is wicked of us to look at Ezekwesili and call her names. This woman gains nothing from this struggle rather than ensuring that people who are expected to do their jobs do their jobs. Have we considered the families of those girls and the girls themselves? Should Nigerians be mild with the Army or Military in ensuring that these girls are returned back to their families? In Kenya, residents protested en mass and drew the attention of their president to ensure terrorism is curb. Compare that to Nigeria, we sit our fat ass and start cursing out.

Nigerians, we are wicked people.

In the case of Chukwuemeka Ezeuko (Rev. King), the group argued that he is being persecuted in Nigeria because he is an Igboman.
This tribal nonsense must stop. Are Nigerians fools? A man decided to burn a human alive, and he is being persecuted for belonging to a certain tribal. How ridiculous

Jobless associations with selfish interests. How of many of them knew the actual state of their so-called banks before they went ahead and invested? How of many them read the prospectus or bother to find out how the banks were being operated?
At least Oceanic bank was on the verge of systemic failure owing to being run like a kiosk.
All shareholders are interested in is ROI, but in Nigeria they don't even bother to find out if the companies they invested in are being run ethically or are keeping their heads above water angry angry
I can tell you for free, these shareholders are not interested in the performance of companies but are more interested in struggling for handouts during annual general meetings. Many of them will come with all their children claiming proxies. How can you, the shareholder come to an AGM with a proxy again. You need to see the fight because of sweets and exercise book

Why should a Nigerian property be nationalized in the same Nigeria. Is there no legal right called Right to acquire legal properties anywhere in Nigeria. There properties were nationalized without any compensation. It is just like telling the road side mechanic; you dont have customers so hand over your business to the government without any compensation then Go and Die
I thought I was the only confused person here. I know Godwin Okezie and I cannot believe he made statement like that. Nationalization of banks, where these banks internationally owned? I believe he meant stripping these banks of their public limited liability status.

You are looking at what happened in 1984 with the eyes of 2014.

I sure witnessed that era as an adult, there was no disgrace talkless of it being monumental. We Nigerians were so proud of it then. We are talking of the days of Ronald Reagan and cowboy diplomacy not Obama. There was even no condemnation of the act by USA.

Contrary to what that Wikipedia source said, it was not Britain that expelled Nigeria High Commisioner, Nigeria recalled its Commisioner for consultation and issued a statement that it 'considered it inappropriate for the British High Commisioner to be in Nigeria while his counterpart is in Nigeria for consultation'. Effectively it was Nigeria that expelled the British ambassador not the other way round.

When Britain detained the Nigerian plane, Nigerian government recalled the British Airways plane that was already in the air enroute London and detained it in Lagos.

Soyinka issued a statement then lambasting the Nigerian government for allowing the kidnap to fail. He wondered why the kidnappers used the airport in central London when they could have used less busy airport in other parts of UK.

Geoffrey Howe - the British foreign minister was one of the first callers on IBB in 1985 immediately Buhari was overthrown and it was Britain that first announced the normalization of diplomatic relations.
Kai, you said it all and accurately too. There were widespread jubilations in the street of Lagos. Though Buhari administration denied having a part of the kidnapping, also the Israeli denied having being involved in the kidnapping. The UK decided to impound the private jet and the pilot that would have brought Dikko home citing investigation as its reason, the Nigerian government responded and responded harshly.

Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi (Persian: محمد رضا شاه پهلوی; [mohæmˈmæd reˈzɒː ˈʃɒːhe pæhlæˈviː]‎; 26 October 1919 – 27 July 1980) was the king of Iran (Shah of Iran) from 16 September 1941 until his overthrow by the Islamic Revolution on 11 February 1979. He took the title Shāhanshāh ("Emperor" or "King of Kings"wink[1] on 26 October 1967. He was the second and last monarch of the House of Pahlavi of the Iranian monarchy. Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi held several other titles, including that of Aryamehr (Light of the Aryans) and Bozorg Arteshtārān (Head of the Warriors, Persian: Bozorg Arteshdārān).[2]

Mohammad Reza Pahlavi came to power during World War II after an Anglo-Soviet invasion forced the abdication of his father Reza Shah. During Mohammad Reza's reign, the Iranian oil industry was briefly nationalized under the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh before a U.S. and UK-backed coup d'état deposed Mosaddegh and brought back foreign oil firms, and Iran marked the anniversary of 2,500 years of continuous monarchy since the founding of the Persian Empire by Cyrus the Great. As ruler, he introduced the White Revolution, a series of economic, social and political reforms with the proclaimed intention of transforming Iran into a global power and modernizing the nation by nationalizing certain industries and granting women suffrage.

Time flies/changes . . . life in the 80s.

That said, I can understand anyone who's benefited from the looting jamboree that's turn this country into a shame of the world supporting Dikko/being against Buhari on this.

However, what I'm forever going keep trying to wrap my head around is, how can the same set of people who's lives have/are practically been/being destroyed by the same thieving politicians, still takes sides with the same thieving politicians.

Most people have been born into hardships/sufferings/things-not-ever-working, that they've no idea what living even a half-decent life is like.
And some just have no idea what those stolen monies could do -- no idea whatsoever!

Forget all those 'tales by moonlight' any religious cleric and the likes might have told you is the cause of your problems in life -- bad governance is simply accountable for at the least, a minimum 75% of the problems each and every Nigerian is going through (except you are one of the beneficiaries of the looting jamboree that's plagued this country since 1979).

Ask what China, France, Ghana and e.t.c. did to it's corrupt politicians . . . they would have gladly subscribed to crating and imprisonment if they had a choice. cheesy
GBAM!!! Our ideology has been bastardised. We worship criminals and make excuses for them. The same way we are making excuses for Jonathan and subscribing to his pity speeches.

Sometimes when sane people discuss. Avoid the temptations of joining issues on discourses that are clearly beyond your level of understanding. You can not fight evil with evil. There are principles of leadership and philosophies of justices. No nation, No President and No Leader has the rights to go into another nation to kidnap his citizen, drug and crate him out of any nation. There are diplomatic channels to follow, and even if it takes years. Buhari personalized his selective justice; The same way he placed Shagari, the hausa President he illegally overthrew under house arrest, but sent Ekweme his Vice President to Kiri Maximum President for no just cause. This same Buhari stated that Abacha stole nothing, that it is all allegations. This same Buhari stated he will make Nigeria ungovernable. ...Men...you guys need new brains.
Then you know nothing about diplomatic relations. The United State is the worst invader, followed by the British. Both countries combined are the worst thing to happen to world peace. Please study, go and do your research. The US orchestrated a coup that overthrew the government of Iran in the 50s so that they could install their stooge. This US stooge perpetrated a corrupt administration, his wives were bathed with milk water on a daily basis, whilst the people starved. There was a protest and the man ran away to the US. The people requested for him to be extradited so he could face the corrupt allegations against him, the US refused. Trust the people of Iran, the storm the US embassy, broke in and held about 47 US staff hostage.

Yam and goat analogy, stealing is not corruption, etc.

When sane people listen to Buhari talk during interviews and when he delivers speeches, we'd realize that those who call him illiterate are actually insane.
A good way to illustrate the matter. At that time, the Nigerian Military scouts the best schools in the country to entice brilliant young men to join them. The Civil Service also followed suit. That were the golden years of Nigeria, not now when illegality has become the norm. Criminals are heading the affairs of this country and being awarded contracts. Exam malpractice rules our educational system. Society misfits brag about their exploits instead of sharing cages with birds.

Do not sound apologetic. Buhari did what he needed to do to bring Dikko to justice.

The world over, countries engage in covert operations to bring enemies of state to justice.

USA has violated many countries' sovereignty to bring state's enemies to justice.

Same with UK, Israel and Russia. It is done world over and GMB was not sorry for it then, is not sorry for it now, and cannot be sorry for it in the future.
You are right. That was why I said it is double standard. You cannot keep a thief and tell us to clean our act. Dikko should have been extradited immediately he was requested for rather than provide diplomatic protection. Can you imagine that he was placed under a witness protection programme. The British decided to severe relationship and Nigeria responded accordingly.

So, Buhari hired Israeli mercenary to kidnap(1) Drug(2) Crate(3) Umaru Dikko and was about to illegally cargo(4) him out of a Sovereign country(5) in contravention of International Laws. And you applaud such action ? But you condemned the killing of Nigerians on drug charges in Indonesia ? Sometimes you people should feel shame in utterances. Buhari was a military coup plotter and had no respect of any democratic nation. He was disgraced out of office by IBB when the Economy failed. Try and read the available history of the reason IBB overthrew the inexperienced uneducated cattle rearer.
I do not applaud the action, on the other hand, while would the British government provide diplomatic protection to a thief? Are they not the same people criticizing us of being corrupt and unable to handle our business. To me, I think it is double-standard. The only issue I observed is the embarrassment that a secret plot to kidnap a British investor was being planned and carried out on British soil without MI6 knowing about it. The US entered into Pakistan and killed Osama, everyone congratulated the US.

A point of correction, IBB was part of Buhari's administration. He was even the chief coup plotter against Shagari's administration. IBB's decided to overthrown Buhari because he had shady deals and was afraid that Buhari would spot them and arrest him. There was even an investigation currently on-going at that time, and that investigation would have implication IBB.

Finally, I believe you follow the news and would have read that the Army has finally discovered the credentials of Buhari. I must also add this and it is not out of disrespect, but of sincere truth - Buhari is more educated than you. I say this because I know the Army and because of my affiliation with the Army. The Nigerian Army, not now that it has been politicized and bastardized, is a very discipline institution that do not joke with education and training. Its officers are trained regularly to world standard. The records are out there in the open. So it was a huge embarrassment to Buhari and even to the Nigerian Army when they took this credential issues seriously.

How ever you look at it, Kidnapping by even a Pope for the purpose of sanctification is wrong.

If Buhari was not a worldly condemned Dictator, all he needed to do was to legally ask the UK Government to extradite Umaru Dikko and they would have diplomatically obliged. But to stage a 'kidnap', and go as far as 'drug' and then 'crate' a human being is crime against human.

2015 is NOT 1984. And Buhari will soon enough realize that his experience with 150 cows in Daura isnt what is required to run a complex democratic nation. I think Buhari should resign on May 30th after swearing-in on May 29th. Because his dream of being a President has been achieved. We know there is nothing better he can do. He has no certificates.
That was done, but the British did not bulge and claimed not to have seen Dikko, while providing diplomatic protection to him. I am not applauding the kidnap attempt, but it goes a long way to show how determined Buhari was at that time to curb corruption. That kidnap attempt alone is a main reason many people are scared of Buhari today.

Buhari the first Nigerian Kidnapper.
That act was a monumental disgrace, Which caused a lot of diplomatic impasse between Nigeria and Britain.
The British were not willing to extradite Dikko. Dikko was a top corrupt politician, in fact, he was de-facto president under Shagari and was responsible in accumulating wealth for himself as Minister of Transport. Immediately the government was overthrown, he escape Nigeria by road through the borders and flew to the UK.

Dikko's kidnap was highly commendable in the country. However, the British felt embarrassed that first, it secret service did not notice that plot and second, it happened within its sovereignty. I wish to also state that Buhari had personal grudges with Dikko and he wanted to settle such by bringing him home alive.

It is a shame that people do not understand or take time to research on things before they open their mouth to speak or express their mind.

Special courts or tribunals as they often called are required to ensure that cases do not get stuck in regular courts. They accelerate trials and pave way for appellate courts to continue with the case. We honestly need a special court for money laundering, tax evasion, corruption and even terrorism. This is a strong deterrent against prospective offenders.

By this announcement alone, I know a lot of fraudulent companies will be consulting with their legal team on the way forward. We are losing lots of money from tax evasion and laundering. I will also suggest that the house of assembly enact a stuff law against bribery, tax evasion, corruption and money laundering
