davodyguy:Davo, I think you should learn how to communicate without either being sarcastic or appear to be insultive. I do not intend to quote your previous comment, but you literally mentioned "if a lady visits your house" and that implies trying to impress your guest. Hence, a spinoff with Impression being the main content of my previous comment. In response to this comment, I think the keyword is Preference, after thorough consideration of the challenges and benefits accrued to both platforms (IPTV and Regular Dish). I have stated in my previous comments that I do not intend to incur the wrath of my estate management and neighbors because I want to watch TV. Sequel to this, an IPTV would be sufficient for me. Apart from watching Live TV channels, IPTV still has the advantage of enabling its users view movies and TV shows of their choice. IPTV is the future; Apple is working on it and Tim Cook (CEO of Apple) has promised to change the television industry. However, the expensive data cost in Africa is a huge limitation. Davo, my first sentence is not to spite you, but to draw your attention to your communication mindset and I must also thank you and others in the forum for the knowledge I have gained so far. |
davodyguy:I don't get your point. If you are doing this to impress a lady, you sure can and it all depends on how you make do of it. I would rather impress my friends and neighbors with sky movies than with mnet movies, which they can get for themselves if they continue to pay subscription. I would rather impress my friends by informing them I can watch any movie I want at any time I want and not praying for a miracle to touch dstv staff. I would also impress my foreign friends especially in the UK by telling them I still keep in touch with the news in their locality despite not being there. Knowledge is power and when you have that, you can impress even the president of the free world. Well for me its not about impressing people - because I see that as a low self esteem syndrome. It's for my personal consumption and pleasure. I don't have to wait to travel to the UK now before I can watch sky or itv. Personal preference. |
Honestly, I wanted manny to win, but wait a minute have you seen may-weather work out rate |
davodyguy:They both have mifi. Smile has remodeled their mifi and it is now smaller and last for 10 hours. The problem is that data is expensive and still slow in Nigeria. Probably because customers are not complaining enough. |
davodyguy:Spectranet and Smile come with a small dongle you can move with and the use rechargeable batteries like phones. So you can have fast internet as you move around. |
EMMAACHILE:Yea exactly. You keep yourself informed Emmaachile. That is the addon I am talking about - Wicked. It has everything I need. Better than AAASTREAM. Countless channels and no buffering. I hope nothing happens to it. Davidoguy - @ N12,000 you get 30gigabyte from Spectranet or N8,000 for 20gigabyte. I am currently using both Smile and Spectranet but next month I may switch to Spectranet, they are now faster than Smile - Unlimited speed. Plus I mount loads of pressure on them. The good thing is that you have the best of both worlds - Internet and Cable TV together. Plus you get good contents to watch and not the trash DSTV is forcing us to watch. Movies on demand, TV shows with recent episodes and countless live TV around the world. I also compared the streaming time and you get a minute delay from the IPTV to what is currently being delivered by DSTV on your TV. Not bad at all. If your internet speed is top notch, I would advise you go for it. I am still up watching live TV and also waiting for the big fight tonight. |

Good evening Folks, I am yet to receive my android TV box, it should be in Nigeria on Saturday. However, I have been playing with my laptop and I am really excited with my observations. There is this new application uploaded on Kodi/XMBC and the owner seem to be a wicked programmer. It has almost everything and it makes DSTV appear like a toy. I want to thank Emmaachile for opening my eyes and making my research. I have been hooked to my laptop for days and I have literally forgotten about my DSTV.

A stupid airline. The worst of its kind. |
Naijiant:He is very good |
True be told, the interviewer was hard on Oby. Overall, she did remarkably well. I need to do more research on that guy, he is the kind of person that needs to interview our corrupt leaders. Brutal journalism. |
jascon1:Nothing stops these institutions from being transparent and doing what is expected from them. Saharareporters and premium times are examples of journalism that comes hard on bad governance in Nigeria. However, I am sure you are one of those Nigerians that continue to abuse their effort. It is also a shame that the judiciary part of governance would reduce themselves to tools and clowns for politicians and it is also a shame that we, Nigerians, have reduced our conscience to materialism and as such conduct ourselves improperly because we want to make some extra buck. Finally, Oby is an inspiration and a huge talent for our god forsaken continent. It takes an extra ordinary person to relentlessly pursue a cause, amid all criticism, and never back down even when such cause is not a personal one to you. Lest not forget, she enjoys no material gain from this and because of her effort, the world joined the outcry. |
Let me be honest, if Oby doesn't make minister, we would be losing a huge talent. However, I must congratulate the Aljazeera interviewer for the tough questions |
Please tune in. The journalist is tearing ezekwesili apart. Jesus. The guy is just good and very bold. |
GMB can actually do this. It is called fixed foreign exchange rate. The same abacha used during his administration. However, it would make our export product expensive, especially to africa countries. Likewise, if we operate the fluctuating exchange rate, we must be productive enough and supply our products to the world. For me I think the primary concern is unemployment. |
I would love a Saraki as senate president but we cannot detect the wishes of the senate members |
NLC must be drinking detergent for breakfast. Do they intend to kill small businesses managing to survive in this critical business climate. Some business owners do not earn up to 90k per month |
geloorrrrdd:When I read post like this, I just shake my head. Is this poster claiming to have a better life? |
This is good, but how do you intend to question the source of wealth of individuals? I just think they should strengthen the FIRS and wealthy individuals should begin to feel the pain of displaying too much wealth by paying enormous taxes. |
omonnakoda:I think the war did a lot of damage to the Ibo tribe. Many historical facts were lost, and even pride. |
That is a classic car and very expensive to procure or construct. I don't know how he got the car but if it is directly from Mercedes-Benz, be guaranteed that some teachers will not be paid salary for a period of time |
I just don't understand NLC and TUC. Has Oil subsidy ever been effective? Presently, there is fuel scarcity in the country as a result of Oil subsidy payment. Nigerians should truly ask NLC and TUC if they are fighting for the Nigerian interest or the interest of Oil marketers. The government has consistently increased pump price because Fuel Subsidy is not sustainable. The fundamental problem has never been addressed and I think Nigerians are only asking that the price of fuel should reflect commercial realities and not utilize as a medium to perpetrate fraud. NLC and TUC, please note that Nigerians actually do not need Fuel Subsidy, but reduced pump price and that can be achieved if our refineries are functioning properly and new refineries are built. The incoming administration should be looking at a way to award refinery licences to these oil marketers to build refineries and reduce the quota of importing refined fuel into the country. On the other hand, NLC and TUC should be ashamed to be the mouthpiece for the country when its association is riddled with corruption. |
PedroJP:Exactly. Africans must unite and fight the disease else, they might be worst than ISIS. |
omonnakoda:Laughs. Way off. I guess its a funny way to pronounce it. |
LEvuls:No. it is pronounced - Eebo and not Eegbo. I always make conscious effort to write it correctly and when asked I explain. Ibo is the correct spelling and not Igbo. |
The man should resign. He failed woefully. He should understand and accept that as a leader when you do well, you would be praised and when you fail, you will be castigated. |
GMB truly wants to serve and I pray he succeeds. |
That is the right way to spell it - Ibo and not Igbo. Chinua Achebe also made the correction in his epic bookseller - Things fall apart. I wonder how the G was smuggled in. |
freeborn76:Let's not based this on tribal issue though it is. I also think petitions should be made against Patience and Asari and likewise, anybody who wakes up and thinks he can disturb the peace in this country. |
People should be careful when they make speeches, especially people in public position. I wonder why the Oba felt so proud to retract his statement and apologize. Pride goes before a fall. |
Let's be honest. This is the only woman keeping the Nigerian Military on their toes in ensuring that the Chibok Girls are rescued. Her persistence keeps the issue alive and mounts more pressure for their release. We all know that more children, especially girls, were kidnapped by Boko Haram, however, this did not make front page news and their fate was ignored. I admire her courage, I envy her strength and I believe that it is not a publicity stunt for Ezekwesili, but because she believes that every girl child in this country should not be afraid to have an education. |
This may hurt in the short run but more beneficial in the long run. |

Our leaders get away with questions that's y they keep on stealing. By the time we have an independent n fearless media coupled with transparent judicial system ppl will sit up. Ppl like "oga at the top" will rapidly get exposed n lies told on documents would not match the words. Journalists can trace the loots n feed us info about ongoing projects.
