What saner clime would that be? I live in one such saner clime and it is pretty much 50/50 here as for who does that. If this had been back during the 80s/90s, I would have agreed with you but since then formerly traditional roles have been upended and people have taken to making up their own traditions as they go. undecided

Gender roles have majorly gone out the window here. Ask my neighbor whose wife mows the lawn and tends to the grass while the husband can be heard inside shouting to the kids about dishes and stuff. undecided

Interesting....
I just think some chores are relatively feminine and some, masculine

If women were naturally wired, they wouldn't need to undergo rigorous training they while growing on how to do chores and keep the home as is tradition in most African homes. No gender is naturally wired for any of this. undecided

Even in saner societies, both dudes take care of the home and both work but you see wives on the kitchen often, clean up the house while the husbands clean up the garden often and fend for the family, everyone has roles to play, don't mix it....man will never breastfeed!

The reason why many guys say this is because they don’t value the work that goes into raising kids, keeping the home and caring for all the family members. If they did, they won’t see it as a demeaning role. Learn to see value in the things your women do for you.
That way you stop asking “what do you bring to the table?” and you’ll stop looking down the caregiving home making role.

See babe, treat my comment differently and don't treat generally....

Had it been you did, that wouldn't have been your response to my comment.

...it simply means, right from growing up, there are some special trainings that have been given to female gender, a huge part of it is built around taking care of the house, kids and building home. In cases we have career ladies, maids' service can be engaged.

You see, naturally, man will not breastfeed, will not back a baby, will not prepare food for the family like a woman, not be AUSE he's proud, lazy nor arrogant but because those chores are not trainings he grew up with, it will end crashing the family if it continues without maids' intervention.

The major point is, let man be the head of the house, find means for the family and let the woman take care of the house...it doesn't stop any of them from helping each other as may be necessary

All back cornrows.

I rarely make this hairstyle and I don't know why. Anyway, recently I made it and the compliments I've gotten are too much. I can't even walk down the road in peace embarassed
Seriously, I thought men only liked it when women wore expensive wigs.

Or maybe they think it's low maintenance, so they stand a chance?? angry
No, I don't think so. Even women complimented the hairstyle☺️

I don't know if u r the one in the first picture, if u r, it's ur beauty, when it found its matched hairstyle, people are complementing, if some girls do same, they may be like low budget gf.

Bottom line, discover what complements ur look and go for it, spoil it with high maintenance, as much as u can afford, u will always get complement from both guys and girls

1. Yes, I was educated to the university level almost for free. I attended a tuition free public secondary where government even paid for my NECO examination. For my university education, I attended a state university where I paid a total of 38kfor the four years program. The highest I paid per session was 10k. So you see, I’m perfectly in order if I say I was educated for free.

2. Well, there is nothing wrong in trying. A lot of Nigerians have excelled in public offices in the country. If we don’t encourage some of our best brains to serve in public offices, we may not get it right as a country. No matter the challenges we are facing today, we still need to keep trying.

You are right tho

Just that, on point 1, relatively, N10k (per session) value as at then was not cheap nor 'close to free'.

You paid tuition fee based on the value applicable then, it's relatively equivalent to what students pay now

I pray things get better sha

I opened this thread purposely to pass a message to those who constantly barrage the country with insults and negativity and see no good in her.

A lot of us have similar stories to this lady. We got educated to the highest level almost for free but still have nothing positive to say about the country. Some of them will even boldly say Nigeria has done absolutely nothing for them.

Good enough, people like Dr. Simi are trying to change the narratives. She’s coming back home to serve and give back to a country that made her a medical doctor almost for free. We need more patriots and optimist like her.

Nigeria may not be where we want her to be but being perpetually negative and denying the benefits we’ve received from the country is definitely not the way to go. With positive energy and a deep and patriotic commitment to the country, Nigeria will start flying in just a matter of years.

All the best to Dr. Simi as she returns to serve her Father’s land.

I understand your point and appreciate the fact that you are trying to let Nigerians see the good part of the country.

Meanwhile, I'll like you to help with two clarifications:

1. With your own personal experience, how were you educated in Nigeria 'almost for free'?

2. With the system on ground as at date in Nigeria, do you think Dr Simi will be able to fulfil her utmost and wishful mission?

Thanx for anticipated sincere response
