egin: What is that thing shinning on the tiles? The tiles are glazed tiles with high-gloss look of a newly waxed floor. The lights reflecting on the tiles can help in illuminating the room where it is installed. |

egin: @brabus. Those tiles are really beautiful. How much did you pay for the tiles. You have about 3 different tiles. I am about to start the flooring of my duplex. ThanksYeah, they are beautiful tiles! I have about 10 different types of tiles to be installed in the Chateau and the cost ranges between N2,500 - N2,800 per sqm (Spanish Tiles) |

Fhemmmy: Brabus, what could make this POP ever fall? The roof trusses to which the POP ceiling are installed might develop issues such as rot, deformity and damages from moisture thus causing the ceiling to fall down. It can also fall due to the following reasons: 1. Moisture. 2. The ceiling can also fall or develop issues if the electrician or other tradespeople working inside the ceiling mistakenly step on the ceiling or the trusses. 3. Insufficient brace or support for the ceiling 4. Installation of light fittings which are heavier than the board can also pull it down 5. Roof leakage or leaky pipes in the roof. |

From the Chateau

A little bit of purchasing action Since last week, I've been busy making purchasing decisions on doors and tiles. I've been able to lock in nice selection of doors and tiles for the Chateau as I have ordered and have delivered on the site 21 doors (indoor/external doors) and various designs of Spanish tiles from the friendly folks at Orile Building Material market. Next up I'll pull the trigger on the doors as we commence the installations today. |

Since last posting about this project, a lot of activities have been happening in the background. Blogging resumes fully from this weekend when we shall be installing the doors and the tiles. "Sometimes, we’re all too quick to count down the days that we forget to make the days count." |

I asked my carpenter to produce the smaller version of the door with a wood finish for the kitchen/dining door. Here's what we were able to achieve with Naija locals. Cost Breakdown Frame/Architrave - N7,000 (using the best wood in the market) Door - N10,000 (very solid wood) Locks and Keys/Hinges - N7,000 Transportation - N1,500 Is it nice at all or do you think it is sheer waste of money?
