POLICE DPO BRUTALIZES INNOCENT BENUE GIRL IN LAGOS

Residents of Ijegun-Egba of Lagos State penultimate Saturday evening returned to a shocking development as a Police DPO in the area personally tortured an innocent Nigerian lady to stupor for no just cause.

The Benue born young lady, Miss Fatu Rose Ochigbo of number 27, Musi-Anidu Street, Ijegun-Egba suburb of Lagos State is still fighting to regain consciousness at a hospital in Lagos after she was handpicked and beaten mercilessly by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agboju Police Station, DST. Ibrahim Audu and his boys on Saturday

An eyewitness who is simply known in the area as Aunty Pauline told New-Nigeria Reporters that the victim, Miss Fatu Ochigbo, was in her house cooking and only came out of her room to throw off water in the gutter when she saw a number of persons being chased by Police men running toward her compound.

According to Aunty Pauline, out of concern for her own safety, Miss Fatu started running back to her room but the Police quickly descended on her and started beating her up mercilessly, adding that the DPO of Agboju Police Station personally hit the innocent lady on the head with the Police wooden baton leaving her broken skull gushing out blood

Upon investigation, the Police were said to be pursuing a MALE suspected hoodlum terrorising the area but descended on Miss Fatu over a reason best known to them (the Police)

New-Nigeria Reporters further learnt that
Miss Rose Fatu Ochigbo was rushed to the nearest hospital and treated by the Police for N16,000 after realising the girl's innocence.

However, Miss Rose who is in great pain, cannot sleep and has lost substantial quantity of blood was forced by the murderous DPO who came back to demand for the N16,000 hospital bill he paid for the treatment. A source closed to the victim told New-Nigeria Reporters that Miss Fatu who could barely open her eyes due to the heavy cut on her head had to cough out the 16,000 to pay the DPO who had threatened to kill her if she refused to pay him back.

The victim's family are calling on Nigerians to come to their aid over this injustice, describing the incident as a disgrace to Nigerians and the womanhood, adding that Miss Fatu is an innocent young girl who was assaulted by members of the Nigerian Police Force for no just cause.

The family questioned why members of the Nigerian Police Force would mistake an innocent young lady for a male suspect.

If Arsenal wins the Europa league and even finishes 17th on the table,they automatically qualifies making the total team qualified from england to be 5.Its has ever happened in 2008/2009 season or so when Chelsea won the Europa's league but finished 5th on the table.5 clubs were represented that season in Champion's league.

As it stands now,Manchester united is totally out of champions league and no amount of miracle can bring them in until next season.

The likes of Manchester city,Liverpool,Tottenham,Chelsea and now Arsenal(if they win the Europa league)will be represented in next season's UCL draw.

The top clubs from main European countries don't play playoffs anymore ...The rule change last season ..I mean clubs from Spain,Germany,Italy,England,and maybe France ...Those guys now go straight to the competition.. No more playoffs

The 2018 graduates of the Federal University Oye Ekiti are set to protest failure of the university management to issue them transcripts more than a year after graduation.

The document is a copy of a student’s permanent academic record, which usually means all courses taken and all grades received by a student from the first day of school to the final semester.

Our correspondent gathered that efforts made by the graduates to get their transcripts have been neglected by authority on several occasions.

Speaking with out reporter in anonymity, a graduate of Microbiology said the delay resulted in the forfeiture of a scholarship for his Masters programme abroad, an opportunity many graduates seek.

“I have applied for my transcript for over a year and three weeks now. I applied on the 14th of April, 2018 after paying the sum of N10000. I was awarded a scholarship outside the country and I needed my transcript to register. Because the transcript was not released and has still not been released, I had to forfeit the scholarship. I now need it direly to register for my Masters program here in Nigeria and it has still not been released.”

A source in the university told this newspaper that “the school has not issued certificates yet. Certificates should be awarded during the convocation ceremony but statement of result which should last for two years was issued in place of the certificate. There is no news of a convocation holding anytime soon though there are two sets on ground waiting to be convoked”, he lamented.

Another graduate of Theatre and Media Arts who chose anonymosity for the fear of victimization said, “I wrote my final paper in 2017, I did my final project defense in 2017, the session ended in October, 2017. My statement of result says January, 2018. Why?”

“We have not been convoked. Without convocation, there is no certificate. Some recently applied for letters of attestation and they have not gotten it till now.”

He further said, “While some schools give out transcripts for free or require a token of N3000, we are required to pay N10000 for local transfer and N5000 for a student’s copy. Those who want to further their education outside the country have to pay N50000 for the transcript.

“I need my transcript to register for my Masters program which will close at the end of the week. I applied for my transcript in March, paid the required sum for it and have still not gotten it.

“I woke up on Monday morning and prepared to go to school only to hear that the students are protesting and the gates are closed. What is the hope of getting the said transcript before the end of the week when the registration ends? What happens to the N16,100 I used in procuring the Masters form. What do I do next?”

He said that the school is being unfair to the students. Those who want to move on cannot move on after graduating with good grades. He said some of them have been going and coming for months just to get the transcripts.

“Some got scholarships abroad but it got terminated when they were not able to provide transcripts. Some have money to further their studies abroad but they can’t because they have no transcripts. Some of us who are trying to further our education here can’t do that after almost two years because we lack transcripts. It’s quite disheartening and sad.

PLO Lumumba said: “The people with ideas have no power and the people with power have no ideas.’ That is very true. Not everything requires protests. They should know what they should do without being chased about for it.”

A two weeks break has been suggested by the school management and the school is expected to resume back on the 14th of May if the suggestion is accepted. The aggreived graduates have threatened to embark on a protest of their own if nothing is done to address their issue before the school decides on a break.

Speaking with Godfrey Bakji, the school’s PRO, he said, “You may recall that the three month strike of ASUU caused a serious set back to a lot of academic calendars aside from peculiar internal issues. The institution barely submitted the list for NYSC enrollment.

The institution is working hard to ensure that such demands and others are met within the shortest possible time. FUOYE however regrets all the inconveniences occasioned by this unintentional delay.

Deji Adenuga, the suspected murderer who set ablaze 9 members of his estranged girlfriend’s family in Igbodigo, #Ondo State, has stated that he has no regrets do it.

The 45- year-old suspect, after being arrested, confessed to the crime, saying he burnt the house where the parents of his wife lived and killed eight persons. The suspect was one of the ex -convicts that escaped from Olokuta Prison after a jail break in 2013. According to him, he had in 2003, killed his first wife after she allegedly went away with N450, 000 belonging to him. On why he took the decision to burn the family of his wife to death, he said his wife aborted his 4-month pregnancy and took away some of his personal belongings to her parent’s house.

His words: “I have no regret killing them because when they did their own nobody punished them. I took the decision to set their house ablaze when it became clear that my wife had moved to her parent’s house with some of my belongings.

We had little altercations at home and she moved out of the house. I was the one paying their house rent and I was also responsible for their day-to -day living. I am a palm wine tapper and I always live up to expectation both at home and at my in-law’s house. My wife’s parent always asked for money from me and food stuffs and I always oblige”. Adenuga said he waited for months thinking that the family will rescind their decision but to no avail.

According to him: “I also reported the matter to the Police but they did not take any action. I therefore decided to set their house ablaze for my belongings in their custody to be destroyed but they were also burnt.” He said he was ready to face the consequences of his action....

Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, this morning announced that the National Hajj Commission has hired Saudi Arabian lawyers to help in the facilitation of the release of Zainab Aliyu, the Nigerian lady falsely accused of drug peddling in Saudi Arabia.

Zainab was arrested in December 2018 with Tramadol, a banned substance.

Investigations by the Nigerian government have since revealed that the drug was planted in Zainab's luggage by a cartel that specialises in planting drugs in the bags of unsuspecting travelers.
