Yes for residency you have to specialise. Paediatrics, gynaecology, family medicine, orthopaedics and a whole lot more. Even to enter the residency needs serious connections now. If you aren't connected forget it you will remain a medical officer doing locum for 50k

The more emphasis on mental health, the more it gets ridiculous and out of control. If Naomi Osaka really had mental health issues, she would best be on her medications and would've left tennis when she knew that the contracts entailed.

What have other tennis professionals said on it? Some of them must have mental health issues which they are dealing with privately while doing what is expected. People can't do whatever they please all the time, it results in too much chaos, so it's good she's left the open.

Best of luck to her, though. At least now she will focus on her depression and any other health concerns with the support of her family.
