I can remember when praying for five minutes was such a big deal for me, but now I can pray for hours upon hours and yet not feel like stopping.

I don't forget where i'm coming from, hence I keep thanking God and asking Him not to let me take the fact i could now pray for this long for granted, because He's the one that made it possible for me to be able to do so.

So with God you can be where you desire to be spiritually.

World over people greet the elderly first, warmly and politely. Not the other way around. It's a respect that will be reciprocated one day in old age.

Those small boys and girls expect you to greet them first, when their job is supposed to be politeness and service! We normally have the silent stare-down until they remember their manners.

We are on the same page and the same wavelength. Even till now I greet total strangers as long as they are older than I. The kids these days are nothing to write home about. There are some that will meet you on a pathway and expect you to give way for them.

I even had to warn the ones in my neighborhood that they are not to look at me if they have no intention of greeting. Eyes front!

It's quite shameful how this present generation of parents are bringing up their children.

Common politeness has been lost through parents feeling their children owe no one anything. That is true, but the end results are disastrous in the community project called Nigeria.

Modern children today are altogether way too disrespectful, and it is their parents that encourage and enforce the disrespect. How many parents teach their children to greet or how to be polite nowadays? They feel they want them to have a better life, and to them that means they lose societal norms and become aberrant, sometimes downright rude.

This lack of greeting/respect is noticeable in a particular socioeconomic background.

At what age were they given phones? Children don't deserve to have everything.

Most of these problems come from trying to pamper children. Kids will not always be kids. They need rules before they regret it or become deficient adults.

Giving children a better life doesn't mean tolerating things because they look good while doing them. Or because you didn't have the chance to and want them to enjoy these things. Some things are best left to them to choose when they are on their own. While they can't pay their bills and put a roof over their heads, they need accountability.
