CareerRe: Marketing As A Way Of Life. by brianromel(op): 6:01pm On Mar 11, 2009
Lets look at prospecting for clients.

When given a product or service to market, what comes to mind after the long trainings and talks.
Most would get to it by going out and pouring the styles given to them by their trainners on their prospective clients.
Some will search the streets, offices and shops for would be clients.
While a fraction will take out time to sit down and build a list of possible clients, with varying approach styles to getting at these clients.
Out of the three options, option three is the most important, one needs a list and processes of approach for dealing with varying individuals out there.Building a list keeps things organised and also organises your time and means of getting at clients.
CareerMarketing As A Way Of Life. by brianromel(op): 6:47pm On Mar 10, 2009
its said that we are involved in one form of marketing in almost every thing that we do.
Our life is a constant negotiation for something.
A baby is said to be constantly trying to market their needs and wants to their parents and others around them, who can here their voice when the cry out loud.
We market ourselves constantly in purse of those we feel affection for, trying to get their attention and their notice.
The situations varys accordly to different areas of our daily lives. In each case we are trying to convince someone to commit to us.

In this thread we will be covering the areas of marketing.
From being a beginner in the process, what happens when one meets a client, how to put forward the proposal, what to signs to look out for when speaking to a client, the direct approach to prospecting, how to build up a network, client listing and many more areas and solutions for those of you out there,in different areas of marketing,be it products or services.

Also please feel free to drop your opinions.
CareerRe: How to keep Employee Motivation High by brianromel(m): 6:24pm On Mar 10, 2009
The best way to motive employees if by making them feel like they are part of a whole, not just employing them to handle a task but enquiring from them what they think of the task or asking them to proffer solutions to problems in other areas other than their own job area.
Imagine a situation where an employee in the administrative area of a firm is asks what he thinks about the problem in logistics area of the firm.
Or when employees are asked to organise a brainstorming session to look critically at the problems they face in the area of employment and think out subtle or realitic solutions to them.

Its known that most people see problems only, but when all their problems are gathered and they are asked to look at possible solutions, you did be surprised at what types the will recommend.
That process has been tested an tried in other countries and it has been shown to bring employers and employees closer.
It prime's to the extent that an employee see's himself as part of a whole,a whole he willwant tosuccessed
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Jobs In Nigeria | Vacancies by brianromel(m): 6:13pm On Mar 10, 2009
I just like to enquire if there are consulting firms in search of individuals that can strategize to solve problems in the nigerian employment sector.
Jobs that require high level brainstorming, research and development, business and strategic planning.Jobs that make an individual think, not just the monotonous going to work to receive a pay cheque at the end of the month.
I need a job that involves solving problems for the firm, developing new areas of business, researching and developing new products that are worthy for the Nigeria.
In essence i need a job that i can put my all in to help the company achieve its maximum success.
Is there such a job,is there such a firm.
If there is,then feel free to contact me,tell me what you have and lets see what my experienced mind can come up to.
Because for me its not just about getting a job but getting one that will be really involving, requires multitasking situation and allows employees the ability to come together and think for the growth of the firm.
BusinessRe: Business With 3 Million Naire- Can That Work? by brianromel(m): 9:55am On Mar 09, 2009
My question is what type of security business.
Deployment of guards or setup and sale of security gadgets.
If guards then your budget is small for even one location, because you will have to employ train, find locations and deploy.
With so many major security firms in nigeria eg halogen securities, price guards, pentagon securities. You will be up against some serious competition.
Security gadgets on the other hand,is an open market of which there are many options of products and producers to pick from.
But first research you the area first before you rush into it,
BusinessRe: Starting a Business (For The Entrepreneurs) by brianromel(m): 2:01pm On Mar 08, 2009
Its not been an easy task but our effort and our ability to think up new arms and business areas that are within our experience scope has given us the clients,we need to establish a base with.
I have found out that when you want to start a business, don't just look at cash and a need for a office, just look at making it look professional first then start.

BusinessRe: Starting a Business (For The Entrepreneurs) by brianromel(m): 1:56pm On Mar 08, 2009
For one who has worked in 2 different states and in 4 different sectors,it was easy for me to step out on my own.
I work in the oil and gas sector when i finished my service in 2006,went into the security sector 3 months later, dabbled into insurance marketing in sept 2007,then to mobile softwares in jan 2008,to palm kernel supply by feb 2008,to working for a consulting firm by june 2008,to finally running my own business in feb 2009.
In each case i saw what i was doing as gathering experience for later.
I never knew that experience would come to bear now.Cos it ain't been easy for me and my partner.
Imagine working out of each others home with no office or initial capital but using our gathered experience to start a marketing firm that employs marketers for small businesses.A laptop sales arm helped by a large pull of partner firms in computer village thats sells laptops and get paid only delivery any where in LAGOS and A webdesign arm that designs mini sites for small businesses.
FoodHelp: Guide To Cooking For Men,needed by brianromel(op): 1:20pm On Mar 08, 2009
After staying with the folks i decided to get my own place.
It was cool when i finally got it,but one problem came up. I can't cook and mum and sisters ain't here to shout at for my food.
How do i begin as i can only fry egg and yam, probably boil rice and yam and do garri.
Man can't live on egg and yam and fast food along.
And i know i ain't the only guy facing this so i need pointers so that i don't burn down the kitchen trying to cook stew or soup.

As you get better charge your crowd a fee.
5. Employment agency. As there a millions of nigerians looking for jobs,so are there thousands of employees seeking the right employees.Seek out the employers via networking and asking, once you have a list seek out the employees.
6.home and office cleaning. Get down and dirty to achieve maximum payment from those business people that can't seem to have the time to keep their homes neat.
7. School runs. Every parent with a child needs to be at their school by 2pm to get them, but some times the little soldiers are left behind til 5 or 6. Use you air conditioned car to save the day.put a sign on it and call it school runs and charge for it.
8.swimming pool services. A hotel around you has a pool thats hardly used.call a school to book a session for their kids or an after school place for the kids to have fun while waiting for their parents, then call the hotel to find out what the think.
All these ideas require little or no investment on you side just your effort.
BusinessBusiness Ideas For People On The Go. by brianromel(op): 12:47pm On Mar 08, 2009
Here we will be looking at businesses any jack and jill can start.
1. Product and services marketing. Most have forgotten that marketing p and s be it yours or for others is a business venture with high end rewards, only for those with the passion for it and the endurance to face it and the ability to plan for how they can sell and get clients.
2. Mobile and software install engineer. Basically seen all over computer villa, men with a table,a laptop, cables and bluetooth devices, with softwares for mobile and pc users and can convert videos and songs. Now imagine removing the table and taking the business to the streets, schools, offices and to anyone with a mobile.
3. Home delivery service. All you just do is put out a list of goods and their prices in your area, people call and you deliver and get paid,or you can make it a weekly or monthly billing service.
4. Seminars. You got chairs and a large space at home.why don't you think up topics that you can test your voice with and invite a crowd to listen.

BusinessThe Business Of Seminars by brianromel(op): 12:58am On Mar 08, 2009
This is an area that is being over looked by most business hungry nigerians.A typical trip to the us or uk will show you how important people take seminars over there.
And its not like we lack the topics that will keep people coming or lack the people to speak.
We more of lack the potential for seeing it as a potential.
One example.
A friend of mine came from delta state to establish a training and seminar firm in LAGOS and he did it in two months, now his seminars and training sections are booked always.
He started this with a laptop an internet connection for his research and N15k he paid for his first seminar location at Omole.
It was not a paid seminar but a free one.Only 6 people showed,to some people it was a total loss, but to him those six people where his pillar for larger crowds because those six people kept bring more people for the next seminar and the next.He ran it free every saturday for one month till he had a guest like of 148 people, the next month he started charging 2k per seminar.
The number dropped to 42 for the first week,31 for the second week, then grew to 70 by the third,as at his last seminar saturday last week he had 182 attendees, paying 2k each.
His seminar topic for 2months was how to get a job,of which it only took him an hour 30mins to speak about it.
Even at 42 attendees paying 2k for a 2hour session in a 15k hall. One can easily know how much he earns per seminar.

PropertiesWho Is Buying Land Now. by brianromel(op): 12:14am On Mar 08, 2009
There is a situation currently going on in this country.
Its called excess land and no buyers.Banks and most nigerian's are learning to be smarter in look at properities for collaterial and for purchase,a properity that gives them value for their money in terms of if the want to sell, its at a price worth selling for.
This presents one more issue, since land as an investment takes a long time to mature, its has become a rear fact for sole individual to just pick a plot of land any where. Most properities being sold are sold to firms or organisations, and few of them are actually buying.
This alone brings down the tally of people buying properities in LAGOS as most people either prefer to lease or rent.
AdvertsBecome An Internet Service Provider In Your Area. by brianromel(op): 12:22am On Mar 07, 2009
Today the internet has become big business in Nigeria, with homes and offices in need of access to the world wide web daily and on 24 hours basis.
The need for affordable and fast internet service has sparked a market opportunity for cyber cafes, but with the cheaping cost of laptops and desktops the need to browse from home has increased.
Creating an opportunity for a new form of business,LOCAL INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER.
A provider who connects homes and offices within his area via cabled or wireless coverage and charges a monthly fee.
A monthly or weekily fee that easily relates to weekly or monthly income.
The process of establishing this is easy as one would be working through major existing isp with extensive coverage and high speed internet access, while channeling the service through you to your customers within your local.
Your setup charge will cost between 50k and 150k.While your estimated return can run between 10k and 140k week.

For details on the procedure call 07035803388 or mail cj1080@gmail.com.
PhonesRe: Zain's Browsing- Your Experience by brianromel(m): 11:50pm On Mar 06, 2009
I'm beginning to learn lessons.
No matter what ever free b thingy is out there for any mobile its not as fast as other paid products.
Particularly if you r running your connection via a phone, its so slow when its connected to a laptop, your not allowed to open up some pages, can't login to your box,for me who downloads alot via download accelerators, this connections are slow.
Imagine downloading a 702mb file in 3days.
Something that takes 4hours on swiftbroadband,3hours on direct pc isp providers.
Another lesson,they may say its 3mb or 7mb speeds,but the bandwidth is a joking 3kbps to 25kbps.
Even izap is just 200kbps max which is rear to see.
What i've learnt from these lessons are simple,it not only a connection to internet i need,i also need speed and a bandwidth speed exceeding 1mbps.
I just found out the max you will see in Naija is 512kbps.
If you want to find out your connections actual bandwidth speed a simple download from the internet will tell you what speed your connection is worth.

About those ip's,the software is like a spider that searchs for ip's from programmed sites.
That list came from one site only,i just found out how to make it search through all the sites in its programme.
For those who want it,a simple google search of anonymous proxy finder software,or proxy finder will give u a list of software.
