ogbago: Thanks very much @ Brightmoon for taking the time to clarify me.The name I used on my son's birt cert is my husband's name,e.g son of Mrs.C. MrRight and not my maiden's. Which birt cert is acceptable for a child ; the one from National Population commission or from hospital of birth? Maybe I can get it changed to suit the purpose. Do I as a primary applicant need such proof like birth cert or affidavit during time of interview if successful? You both need NCP and hope you also have the Death certificate? |

Ibracadabra: Thanks a mill Temmy. Is your source a successful interviewee of an embassy worker? Anyway, Just curious, but I trust your judgement...
Now, I made a clumsy mistake by filling a "first school leaving certificate" among certificates obtained in the forms I sent. That is, primary school leaving certificate- and I just realise that I don't know where mine is anymore.
I know it's not a necessary certificate, as WAEC and B.A covers that, but I'm very worried that because I filled it in the forms, that they'd ask me to provide it... I hadn't been on nairaland when I sent my forms, else I would have known better than to include a needless certificate which I do NOT have!
I'll need your suggestion on how I can proceed with this and also want to use this medium to exhort everybody who is yet to submit his/her forms, to b as careful as possible...
Temmy, thanks a lot. You predicted way back in June that my CN would b current in November and that has turned out exactly as you said. Can't thank u enough for your guidance and I look forward to disturbing u a lot more often until I get to the land of opportunity :d my brother, abt the AOS, its not needed, ok. Be 100% sure of that. |

ogbago: @Brightmoon, can me and my son apply with different Surname? I lost my husband years ago and at the time of my marriage,I cldnt do formal change name before my hussy died, hence the different surnames. Another question is my date of birth differs: the one on my international pasport is different from d one used for my SSCE,though, no DOB on my SSCE certificate. Would they[US DV lottery authorities] go searching to know if ur DOB is the right one? Which shld I stick to, SSCE DOB or international passport DOB? Pls advise. Thanks. Honesty is the key. Its ok to apply with a diffrent name but is ur name in child birth cetf? Cos dey will need a prove that the child is your. Why the diffrence in DOB? Anyway, the embassy can go any length if dey suspect you are lieing. My personal Advice: stick to the DOB on ur SSCE if DOB is on it but if not use the DOB on ur Int'l Passport. Goodluck. |
