The stomach tightening is called braxton hicks. It's your body's way of preparing for real contractions. I started having mine from 34weeks or so. Others have it earlier like you. If yours is too frequent and too close, you may need to time it and see in how many minutes interval it occurs . You may need to report to your clinic if it occurs in every 30minutes interval or so and gets slightly more painful.

Pls una help me torchlight this matter.
I went for my ANC yesterday and met a more senior doctor. While palpating my abdomen, he said my uterus had reached about 4cm above my navel which is unusual for a 20weeks pregnancy (using my LMP-22nd of march which by the way i'm 100% sure of and i have a regular cycle). He said that fundal height is for about 25wks pregnancy and so he referred me for a scan. I'm worried about this, even made me unable to sleep well last night. Pls wat could be the reason for this?

Secondly while palpating, i felt pain on the left side of my uterus, he said i'm not supposed to feel pain. So he prescribed cefuroxine 500mg and panadol. Pls wat is the cause of this and are these drugs safe?

Pls help a worried FTM.

His measurements of baby measuring 25weeks as against the 20 weeks of LMP is a likely indication that you have a big baby....when babies are big, they measure more weeks....his referring you for a scan is simply to confirm his measurements because the sonographer will also measure the baby and date the pregnancy based on the measurements he gets. So relax. It doesn't mean there is any problem that should warrant your not sleeping.

Palpitations are usually uncomfortable for me ooo, Infact painful sef . Each time it's done on me in my clinic, I sweat right inside an A.C room and pee in my pants. I don't know why he would prescribe the antibiotics for you without sending you for tests, even if urinalysis to check if you have infection or inflammation if he is suspecting one.

I wasn't in labor at all.the whole process from inducing to baby arrival was 2hrs 15min.

Ehen, I wanted to mention that I read that induction is usually more successful in subsequent pregnancies than for FTMs. The 2 FTM's I know that were induced had to evening go for CS...infact the second one's baby was already distressed sef.

That one dey sha. ...Esp when there is no good monitoring of the process.

Babes, I been dey walk ooo wella oo esp frm 38weeks but now any standing or walking for 10mins upwards results in badly swollen legs n feet for me. Am weighing my options sha. Thanks Dear

Go for induction n pray... and be ready for anything.

For 10months u carried this little one.

People harm them and i dont know why.

Wat i did for my cat was never letting it out of the house.
When ever i try to force it, it holds on to me like life depends on me only.
Thst way, even if d door is open, the cat will just run to d room.

Then another thing, i never allow my cats to eat raw meat or fish.
Tgat way its hard to for witches to get them.


Bath time is fun o. My cat will just enter bucket of water n start swimming at will. Lol.
They hate dirt.

My parents house is fenced. So they usually come outside but they didn't use to climb the fence. But all of a sudden, they started climbing it and playing on top. Gradually, they would drop on the other side . We suspect they went in search of females as the 3of them were all males. When any misbehaved, we bath it cold water as punishment as we knew they did not like cold water bath. He will be crying throughout the bath period.

Did you say 2hours and 15 mins . We're you already in Labour or the whole process from insertion of IV lasted 2hrs only ?

You just reminded me of some good memories. There was a time we had about 3cats in our house. All livein. .......some people got scared of visiting us because of them. It was work taking care of them tho....bathing them warm water at least every 2days....but God, cats are sooo romantic! They way they curdle up on us if we are sitting in the parlor cushion or just lying down doing nothing. They knew when you were out and just returning. They would follow you around ooo till you caress them ....
Then they took turns in missing. We knew something bad would happen to them when they started going out of the compound. We know neighbours who felt cats are witches may have harmed them. But that pain was little compared to the hurt and pain we felt watching the last one die. ... God!!!!! That was the day we knew how attached we were to those cats. Someday, I will own one again. Keeping a cat in a rented apartment is not easy....when God blesses me n DH with our own , I will own a cat once again.

The pain is the same.
Only difference is natural labour takes a normal route to climbing up the pain.
Like a staircase to the 10th floor (highest pain) while induction is more like using and elevator..... straight to floor 10.
When I was induced, by the time I was 6cm, I was tearing down the room.
Natural labour, I didn't start tearing down the room till I was like 8cm.
Nature gives your body time to adjust to the pain. Induction doesn't give a f.. k about your body, it just wants you to pop the baby out.
The good thing about induction when it works is shorter labour... .patapata 10 hours.
The bad thing is if it fails, you will hate yourself for going through all that pain and still ending up with a CS.

EDD passed. Induction considered because of baby"a size. Doctor doesn t seem keen on allowing me stay till 42weeks. So am weighing my options. Elective CS or a chance at induction.

Hey mama's, I really need honest answers based on first hand experience. What is induced Labour like? Compare it with natural labour if you have had both please.....
How easy were you able to manage the pain ?

Went for d final scan at 39 weeks , they gave me 15th as EDD Lolll, only me o. Na dem Sabi jor so far when I'm dew Labour start n baby arrive, mother alive n dh rejoicing .

I dey here with you and waddling big bump around. Labour have not gree come. ..But let's see what God will do for us on or before next week

I was at the hospital on Tuesday, saw an ENT specialist was diagnosed with tonsilities and malaria. I started the drugs he prescribed . Now I feel dizzy n tired, like I am pregnant. My lil baby is just 7months...I have implanon on my arm and I haven't seen my period since I gave birth. I am scared to go for pregnancy test.

Don't be too scared. Do the pregnancy test....at least so you will be at rest. Again too, just incase it turns out positive, you will know whether to take those drugs you were given or not as some of them may not be safe in pregnancy. ....
