Christianity EtcRe: The Fourth Commandment: The Sabbath. by brocab:
The only problem I have with your Sabbath worship-it's not scriptural, the Sabbath day was a rest day-in remembrance God led the people out of Egypt, and of course the creation.
No-one could work-no setting up chairs, no making meals for church members, no pastor needed. "Back then anybody caught carrying their bed, defiled the Sabbath, Jesus was crucified because the pharisees's accused him for breaking the Sabbath, Jesus was the only one that worked on the Sabbath, He being the Lord of the Sabbath.
The Sabbath was a day of rest, thanking God, That was the Covenant God made with His people, the Mosaic law, Israel obeyed,
I am a gentile-I worship everyday.
Many People meet on the first day of the week-as it's written in Rev 1:10, but even then it doesn't say Church day either.
In "Joshua 1:8, say's to us to meditate on the Word day and night and do everything that's written in it, for then you will make your way prosperous and have good success.
His not telling us to meet on either Saturday or Sunday, He tells us to meditate everyday. True worship is only possible because of the meditation we have with Jesus Christ. 1 Tim 2:5, in the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, John 14:15-18, keep that in mind when you worship God, it doesn't matter how you do it..
Old Pope Francis-had knocked the ball out of the park-Sabbath day-soon will be Sunday..
Who cares: these are the times the Lord warned us about..

jiggaz:
What are the benefits of praying in tongues?

What do you do when you have a need? You talk to God in prayer about it and trust Him to provide for you, don’t you?

Now imagine if you had a heavenly prayer language that enables you to always pray perfect prayers in harmony with God’s will, which is to bless you with good and perfect gifts (see James 1:17). This includes divine wisdom, the building up of your spirit and your faith, healing for your body, and wholeness for your mind. Praying in tongues gives you access to all these blessings.

This is why God wants you to receive and utilize this powerful grace gift. It’s one gift with many applications and benefits!

________________________________________________

It makes your prayer life powerful and unlimited

Tongues is a language the Holy Spirit puts inside us to express to God everything we are unable to put into words because of our human limitations. It is a powerful prayer gift not limited by distance, time, or head knowledge.

Often, when we have a problem, we may not know everything about it or how to resolve it. Hence, we may pray with limited knowledge or understanding about the situation. But if you pray in the Holy Spirit, you are allowing Him to intercede for you. And the Spirit, who is not limited, knows all things. He knows exactly what the problem is and exactly what you need. He knows how to bring God’s best solution into your situation (see Rom. 8:26–27 NLT). He is able to plead for you in harmony with God’s will and cause everything to work together for good in every area of your life (see Rom. 8:28)!

Did you know that when you pray in tongues, you could also be prophesying good into your future, or even be praying for the protection of your loved one? Martin from Georgia, who has been following my teachings via broadcast in the US, experienced this firsthand:

“One day, after I came home from work, I felt a strong prompting to pray in the Spirit. Even though I had no idea who the prayer was for, I knew that everything was safe in the Lord’s hands.

Later, I received a call no parent would want to get. My daughter, who lives in New Hampshire, had a horrific car accident. According to the state police report, her car had veered off the road at eighty miles per hour and hit a sixty-feet-tall tree. The impact was so great that her car flipped over several times and the engine broke apart.

The accident happened minutes after I prayed. According to my daughter, a state policeman said to her, ‘Lady, you should be dead. I’ve never seen anyone come out of something like this alive!’ Praise God that my daughter only sustained minor bruises and a scratch!

I give Jesus all the praise and glory for saving my daughter’s life that day! What a wonderful Jesus we serve!”

What an amazing testimony! When you pray in the Spirit, you may not know it, but you could be effectively and supernaturally covering your loved ones or your future with God’s protection (while being spared the details that would honestly frighten you). The best part about it is that you can do it as you’re pretty much going about your day. You can pray in the Spirit under your breath as you’re driving, showering, or attending to any mundane chore… and be praying powerful prayers throughout the day!
________________________________________________

It builds up your faith

Jude 1:20–21 encourages us to pray in tongues because it builds us up on our most holy faith and keeps us in the love of God. When you pray in tongues, you are reminding yourself that God is working in you, for you, and through you. You are fortifying your inner man. You are strengthening your faith, and keeping yourself in the Lord’s love for you.

Once, as I was studying the Word, the Lord also showed me an inward vision of how when we pray in tongues, a watery shield goes up around us. We’ve learned that water is a picture of the Holy Spirit (see John 7:38–39), but why a shield of water? Because that is how we quench all the fiery darts of the enemy (see Eph. 6:16).

Imagine being constantly surrounded by this powerful shield as you pray in the Spirit while you go about your day. You don’t have to fear the devil’s attacks against you. You can go from faith to faith, walking boldly in the promise that no weapon formed against you or your loved ones shall prosper (see Isa. 54:17)!
________________________________________________

It releases rivers of practical supply and life into your situations

What is your need today? God has prepared rivers of practical supply to bring healing, life, and provision for all your challenges. As a new covenant believer, you have full access to these rivers of life through the Holy Spirit. When you pray in the Spirit, you release rivers of His wisdom, supply, and healing into your situations.

Are you hard pressed for a decision regarding your family, your job, your relationships, or your finances? Stir up the reservoir of divine wisdom that is dormant on the inside of you, and release rivers of wisdom to bring light and discernment into your situation.

I’ve found that the more I pray in the Spirit, the more my spirit becomes sensitive to His leading. Similarly, as you practice this gift, you’ll become more familiar with sensing the presence or absence of the Lord’s peace regarding a matter. And the more you learn to recognize and follow His leading of peace, the more you’ll be equipped to make the right decisions, find yourself at the right place at the right time, and experience His protection.

Now, apart from the river of wisdom, there are many other rivers of power that will impart life to your body or circumstances. There is a river of life for a sound mind, a river of love, another river of rest, yet another river of refreshing—all waiting to be released as you pray in the Spirit. Instead of feeling drained and dry of supply, let His living water flow freely as you consistently practice this powerful gift!
________________________________________________

It brings divine healing and health to your body and mind

Praying in tongues is a powerful, scriptural way you can experience healing for both your mind and body. If you have been suffering from a painful physical condition, panic attacks, depression, or some other debilitating medical condition, let me show you how using God’s gift of tongues can bring about healing and wholeness to your body and mind.

Look at what the apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14:4—He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.

According to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, the word edifies is translated from the Greek word oikodomeo, which means “to build a house, erect a building…to restore by building, to rebuild, repair.”3 Isn’t that interesting, considering that our physical bodies are the houses or temples of God’s Spirit (see 1 Cor. 6:19)? And doesn’t this tell us that as we pray in tongues, we can rebuild or repair our bodies broken down by age, stress, or disease?

You may have heard that when you pray in tongues you edify or charge up only your spirit or inner man. But 1 Corinthians 14:4 doesn’t say that only your inner man is edified. It says that the one who speaks in tongues edifies himself. Does himself include the person’s eyes, ears, nose, kidneys, liver, heart, brain, bones, joints, muscles, nervous system, and every other part of his body? Of course it does!

Beloved, your entire self—spirit, soul, as well as body—gets edified or rebuilt as you pray in tongues. God takes care of the whole package. So don’t limit this restorative effect to just your inner man. Start believing that as you pray in tongues, your body is also getting rejuvenated and repaired.

Perry, a member from my church, wrote to me about how a 29mm cyst found at the head of his pancreas was dramatically reduced in size to 15mm in just two months after he prayed in tongues. As a result, he didn’t have to go through a Whipple procedure—an operation more complex than a heart transplant. This is what he shared:

“When my doctor told me the seriousness of my pancreatic condition and how I might have to have the Whipple operation, I became really frightened and prayed to the Lord for healing. I would pray in tongues during my quiet time as you taught us to. This helped to strengthen my faith and remove negative thoughts. I told God I didn’t want to go through the Whipple procedure and prayed for the cyst to be reduced in size and to disappear eventually.

When I went for the scheduled check-up, I felt a sense of calm and peace in my heart. I continued to pray in tongues as I waited for the medical report. Lo and behold, the cyst had reduced in size to 15mm! It had shrunk by half in two months! The doctors also found it was benign. As such, I only needed to return once a year for a check-up. What a miracle!

I’m continuing to pray in tongues and believe the cyst will completely disappear by the time of my next visit.”

That, my friend, is the power of praying in tongues. Is there an organ in your body that needs repair? A heart that doesn’t always beat right, or perhaps an embarrassing skin condition that has defied all the remedies you have tried? Beloved, whether you have been discouraged by a bad medical report, a long-term health condition, or you are suffering from panic attacks and depression, give it all to the Lord and let His Spirit repair and restore your body and mind. God wants you whole in every way, both inside and out!

________________________________________________

It helps you overcome fears

Does fear have a hold on your heart and mind? Perhaps you’re imprisoned by the fear of losing something or someone, of falling sick, or of dying. The Bible tells us clearly that fear “involves torment” (1 John 4:18), something that is not part of God’s will for His children.

How can the gift of tongues deliver us from the bondage of fear? Earlier, we read how praying in the Spirit keeps us in the love of God (see Jude 1:20–21). In talking about how fear involves torment, the apostle John tells us that only the perfect love of God can cast out fear (see 1 John 4:18). So one of the ways to keep ourselves in the love of God is to pray in the Spirit. And as you do, fear will be driven completely out of your life.

Let me show you another scripture about how tongues can drive out fear. In 2 Timothy 1:6–7, Apostle Paul reminds Timothy:

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
—2 Timothy 1:6–7

In the Greek, the word “gift” here is the word charisma which is grace gift, the same word describing how tongues is a gift of the Spirit (see 1 Cor. 12:4).

Now of all of the gifts of the Spirit, which gift can you stir up at will? I believe Paul is referring to the gift of tongues. Paul was reminding Timothy that stirring up the gift of tongues is key to living free of fear and experiencing power, love, and a sound mind—blessings that are also your inheritance in Christ.

Let me show you how this happened for Nancy from North Carolina. Already baptized in the Holy Spirit, she took special notice when she heard me teach on how praying in tongues could take away our fears and anxieties. That piqued her interest because she had become very fearful of driving in thunder and rainstorms. She told me:

“After watching that sermon on tongues, I had the opportunity to pray in tongues through a bad storm while driving. Instead of panicking, I began to pray in tongues before I approached the storm and kept praying in tongues until I had driven out of it. All during that time, I was at total peace with no panic or anxiety. It was amazing!

I praise God that He brought me through this! I learned to fix my eyes on Jesus as I prayed in tongues and today, I have no more fear of storms!”

If like Nancy, there is something that you are fearful about—it could be your health, children, or future—I encourage you to pray in tongues. As you do, like Nancy, you will find your fears supernaturally replaced by God’s love and perfect peace, and experience victory over fear and anxiety.

My friend, whatever your challenge is today, I want you to know God loves you and has already provided all that you need. Tap into His grace gift of tongues and experience rivers of His power, supply, and life for every challenging circumstance today!

Where can I get this book, Alone with God by Bishop Francis Wale Oke? It is one of the best christian books I ever read and it really helped me to develop a deeper communion with God by spending regular night times in prayer. I've looked for it in so many bookshops in Lagos.
Stick with your bible-the Lord say's go into your room and pray to your heavenly Father, the bible is the only book you need to know all truth.

Thank you but you have not explain the issue of Jacob fighting with the angels.
There are ways to find info on line, I just looked up Got Questions on line, and they explained it quiet well-like I said-everything in Spirit-Jacob wrestled with God, only because Jacob was a stubborn man-Jacob was a man who didn't listen to anybody-God knock out his hip for the rest of his days, only because of his stubbornness-when reading the story, it's obvious Jacob wrestling through his heart and mind..
All night he wrestled-think about it. obviously Jacob didn't get any sleep,
No one has seen God at anytime, so it's understandable when God is seen through an angel-Moses also seen an angel on Mount Sinai, and it was God that wrote the 10 commandments-how about the disciples seen God through Jesus.
God connects to us through dreams and visions, it's written Angels are ministering Spirits, Jacob obliviously had a vision, and because of Jacob's stubbornest God wrestled with him. only because He wanted to bless Jacob, so you can see-this wasn't a natural thing.

The problem, I have with the JW's, and other organisations who claim to know Christ, who feel they need to write their own literature they actually think they are correcting the Word of God-the Lord warns us not to add nor remove scripture from the bible-the very thing these so called believers have done, without the Spirit of God they themselves are in La La Land, preaching something that doesn't exist.
The Unknown God.
Arguing over scriptures they themselves haven't any idea what they actually believe, they claim Jehovah is coming back-but when reading their bible at the last page say's, Come Lord Jesus. huh huh
Their main attraction to retrieve any info, is the Watchtower Mag's, written by men-who are dealing in some kind of spiritual-Demonic activity.
Anybody that denies the Word of God, are devils.
They don't study the Word, instead they are taught by elders-teachers who haven't got the slightest idea how to test scripture.
JW's are taught to not question the elders, they use bits and pieces of bible literature-without even understanding between truth and lie.
It wouldn't matter-how we produce the Word of God to JW's-they are designed to know very little of any truth...

Christianity EtcRe: Tithes And Offerings by brocab: 1:01am On Nov 25, 2022
Malachi 3, is the only verse, written in the bible-that's talking to the Levites, "where in fact you aren't a Levite" nor are those giving you tithes, belong to the 11 tribes of Israel-Malachi 3: 8-10, Where God say's to the corrupt priest, you are Cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me"
And since the scriptures claim all believers are priest-1 Peter 2:9, then if you were smart enough to ask yourself-then who tithes-it's not the priest that came from the 11 tribes...You haven't any proof to claim tithes belong to Pastors etc..you didn't make a covenant with God, like He made with Aaron and the Levite priesthood..Numbers 8:24-26-is a good example to prove you lie against the truth.
OLAADEGBU:
Tithes and Offerings
February 6, 2013.

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it" (Malachi 3:10).

Today there is much talk of financial security. The biblical formula in today’s verse, given to Israel, but applied to all, begins with a scathing indictment. "Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings" (v. 8 ). What a terrible thing, to rob God. The result of their thievery, in God’s eyes: "Ye are cursed with a curse" (v. 9), such that their financial state was much worse than it would have been had they been obedient. This teaching and promise has not been rescinded (Luke 6:38; 1 Corinthians 16:2; etc.).

God’s charge to us as given in today’s verse is in three steps. First, we are told to obey; i.e., "bring ye." This cannot be considered an option. Secondly, God proposes a test. "Prove me," He says, give and see if He lives up to His promises. Thirdly, trust His promise to meet our needs.

Note that His promise is also threefold. It abundantly covers present needs, for He promises to "pour you out a blessing" unmeasurable in quality or quantity. Likewise, it covers the threat of future loss. "And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field" (v. 11). Most precious is His promise to reward obedience and trust with a special relationship: "All nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land" (v. 12).

Thus we see that with less than 100 percent of our income at our disposal, we will have greater financial security than if we had kept it all to ourselves, thereby robbing God. JDM

This dream doesn't mean you will end up in hell, it's a warning-repent and ask for forgiveness, and stop doing everything against God-turn around and follow after Him.
PasD:
Its been close to seven months now I saw this very troubling vision. I have just told it to two people. This testimony is true.

28th december 2014, around 4pm, it looked like I had been sleeping (I don't understand how it happened up till now). Then I woke up into another world more real that this physical world.
I saw my self with two other people walking into a broken gate. After that gate was other two broken gates. The 'man' leading us was not extra-ordinary at all but he was young (mid 30s).
As we walked into the 1st broken gate, we entered into a place so wide, with an impression of a burnt house (but there was no sign of fire).
I saw many thing but let me just go towards the end of my vision.
Minutes later we heard an announcement "make way!!! He's coming!!!"
I looked back and saw three dogs. Two of the dogs were very violent tearing apart everything they come in contact with. But the third? Phew!
He was way to small to be their leader but the seemed to fear him! He would give them a stare and just suddenly they would stay calm with great reverence!
As they came closer, the smaller dog materialized into a 'person'.
How can I describe this being? Let me try.
I cannot really say he's a man or a woman but he looked like a woman. Fair, beautiful, slim, without breasts or the figure of a woman.
He (actually he is not a he...he had no gender) had a very smoothe skil like what I have never seen all my life!
Approaching us with an elegant smile. When he introduced himself as Lucifer I could hardly believe him.

Believe me, in the real sense, satan looked nothing like satan. He looked more like one of those pretty news casters you see on CNN. His smile 'perfect'.

There was this charm about him that will make you fall in love with him at 1st sight, I did! He seemed to be calm, innocent and welcoming.
Then he assured us that no one will harm us here. He gave us every assurance that he was in charge, an he was!
Looking at him, you would never believe he is the architect of all the evils going on on earth today!
He looked so intelligent, informed, educated, morally sound, and.......terrible! He was awesome to look upon.
When he introduced himself at first I laughed so hard and wondered why such a beautiful man/woman would admire to be addressed with such cruel name as lucifer!
But there was something else about him. He seemed not to be aware of what's going on on earth. He seemed to be dependent on others for information! He asked me a lot of questions and I wondered as I saw his interest in such matters! He is not omnipresent after all!
Then I asked him where he lived. He said he lives in the Europe (note: he looked like a white man-woman).
Something else amazed me. He told the truth! He won my admiration! He told me his story and I started seeing God as unfair!
Then something inside of me started getting real uncomfortable because I was loving him!

Just then, the man that led us to that spiritual world warned me to be careful. The more satan talked the more I agreed with him. He's so perfect in his speech that his lies are so true!

Let me stop here....many more things to say.

The truth about tithing, it was never made to be giving to any leadership in the church, Pastors etc,,,these days, the churches are not the storehouses, other then Malachi 3, there are no other scriptures that has any claim we are blessed though tithing.
Matter of fact if the tithing was correctly given to the widows, the fatherless, the stranger's, as it is written, all under law, then nothing would have been changed.
But as we read the scriptures, there was a change-Aaron and the Levite Priesthood turned there backs on God-they were stealing the tithes robbing God-just as Malachi explains it to us, actually the Priesthood turned to worship other gods, the Sun god was one of them-"Ezekiel 8".
This gives us a good example, refusing to read the Word of God, how easy it is, to be led astray far from all bible truth..

I won't abuse or throw any insults upon you-I wouldn't recommend the Watchtower personality-nor would I look at the Catholic Church-every Church have their faults, either destroying the love of many-teaching and preaching false doctrine's, to either gain money or gain power to control what they call rules and regulations, traditions' they think' it needs order-all in the power of man-a system that's suit's only them used to control Christ and His followers.
Every man made system' are either corrupt-destitute-everything that concerns Christ belongs to only one organisation-they believe is the one and only true Church...
The Church needs to stand up against these wolves in sheep clothing-turn back to reading and studying the Word of God-it's not about arguments, over who's right and who's wrong-if we would just get back to the bases and believe.

Christianity EtcRe: After Jesus’ Resurrection, Was His Body Flesh Or Spirit? by brocab: 3:24am On Dec 14, 2020
Question: "What does it mean that Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6)?" Answer: When Isaiah wrote his prediction of the coming of the “Wonderful Counselor” (Isaiah 9:6), he was spurring Israel to remember their Messiah was indeed coming to establish His Kingdom (Isaiah 9:7). Isaiah was writing nearly 800 years before Christ.
This period of history was tumultuous as the Assyrians were on the march, taking people into captivity by droves. Isaiah’s prophecy gave the people of God a hope they so desperately needed: a Child would be born to fulfill the Davidic Covenant, and He would bear the titles “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The Child was Christ; the prophecy will reach its consummation at Christ’s second coming.
That Isaiah calls the Messiah the “Wonderful Counselor” indicates the kind of character this coming King has.

The word wonderful in this passage literally means “incomprehensible.”
The Messiah will cause us to be “full of wonder.” The word is much weightier than the way it’s used in normal conversation today—we say things are “wonderful” if they are pleasant, lovely, or the least bit likable.
Jesus is wonderful in a way that is boggling to the mind. The same word for “wonderful” is used in {Judges 13:18} when Manoah, Samson’s father, asked the LORD (in a theophany) what His name was. The angel of the LORD responded, “Why do you ask my name, seeing it is wonderful?”
In other words, “Why do you ask my name, since it is beyond your understanding?”

Jesus demonstrated His wonderfulness in various ways when He was on the earth, beginning with His conception in the womb of a virgin (Matthew 1:23).
He showed He is the “wonderful” One in His power to heal (Matthew 4:23),
His amazing teaching (Mark 1:22),
His perfect life (Hebrews 4:15), and His resurrection from the dead (Mark 16:6).
Jesus taught many wonderful things that are counterintuitive to the human mind: “Blessed are those who mourn” (Matthew 5:4). “Rejoice and be glad” in persecution (Matthew 5:11–12).
“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you” (Luke 6:27).
Jesus’ kind of wonderful is awe-inspiring and superior to any other kind, for He is perfect in every way (Matthew 5:48).

The second part of the Messiah’s title is the word counselor. In ancient Israel, a counselor was portrayed as a wise king, such as Solomon, giving guidance to his people (1 Kings 4:34; Micah 4:9).
Isaiah uses this word again in 28:29 to describe the LORD:
“This also comes from the LORD of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.” Jesus is a wise counselor. “He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person” (John 2:25).
He is able to advise His people thoroughly because He is qualified in ways no human counselor is. In Christ is “hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3), including the knowledge of all human nature (Psalm 139:1–2).
Jesus always knows what we are going through, and He always knows the right course of action (Hebrews 4:15–16).
Christ’s position as our Wonderful Counselor means we can trust Him to listen to our problems and guide us in the right direction (Proverbs 3:6).
We can be sure He is listening because He told us to pray to Him about our worries (Philippians 4:6; James 1:5).
We can be certain He has our best interests at heart because He loves us (1 John 4:19).
And His love is so wide and deep (and wonderful) that we cannot fully understand it (Romans 5:cool.
