TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by Brownie1003: 12:17am On May 28, 2019
I cant categorically tell you how much it ll cost but i can tell u that u pay all fees per semester.
You ll pay reg fees+ fees pertaining to the university+course fees(each course is #2500 though it might av changed)+exam fees(#2000 per course)= your total fees/ semester. So all these depends on d no of courses u offering in a semester.
Pls contact the school for further info.
FaskRolce:
Please how much is PGD at Open university? Just an estimate please and is the fee paid once?

Congratulations.
mosky47:
Friends of the forum, while eating eba this hot afternoon, COPR Letter and the stamped passports arrived to my house by courier.

Summarized Timeline

ITA: 25th July 2018
AOR: 11th September 2018
PPR: 23rd April 2019
COPR: 16th May 2019
Arrived today.

My PPR announcement and PPR story was in the previous thread, but I'll h May, all the IP1 oh, IP2 oh.... everything changed to 'A final decision has been made'; meanwhile they were still 'reviewing if I met eligibility' when my passports had reached them....lol.
Finally, my profile changed to APPROVED.... what a feeling.
I got notified when it left Accra, when it reached VFS Lagos, and when it was given to the courier service. Eventually, it got to me while I was eating eba.

This is our story. God has been faithful to me and my family. Infact, he has been more than faithful. We have spent the last year or two facing one discouraging news or the other, but from April, we started getting good news, not just this PPR. He showed us that He had us in His mind all the while. Special thanks to my wife too, who made this happen.... in the other thread, I had shared about her anxiety. Now, she is so calm. She is a proud owner of a PPR, a COPR and a passport stamped with an Immigrant Visa.

Finally, thanks to all who have guided in one way or the other on this platform. Time to finally move other to the other thread. One love!!

The Journey
IELTS: In preparing for IELTS, I used IELTSOLINE and CAMBRIDGE for Listening and Reading. For speaking, I used youtube to know what was expected. For writing, I used IELTS-UP to read the different formats of essay writing. Then overall, I used Liz, the videos I could find online. I also have a friend who tutors people for IELTS, she gave me some tips and helped review my writing and speaking. We had agreed that hubby will not write IELTS neither will he do ECA; we could save the money and use it for some other things, so I was under a lot of pressure to max out. Thank God he saw me through

On 10th May, a friend added me to a whatsapp group and on 13th they discussed about AVO. So I chatted the person who responded to please help include me to the AVO whatsapp group if she was in the group and she did. 14th May, the same lady announced on the group that she moved to ip2, I was sad that there was no movement on my application but felt a nudging to check my profile (at this time I had resorted to checking my profile like once a week or 10 days). I logged in and BOOM!!! I saw I had been visited by ‘the GHOST’ (application/profile updated). Logged in and saw that background check was now “we are processing….”. Chai!!! I was overjoyed; expecting PPR the following day or at least before the end of the week. Hmmm!!! Wednesday passed, nothing; Thursday, nothing; Friday nothing. In fact, someone who moved to ip2 on Thursday got PPR on that Friday, but here I was, still expecting mine. Monday 20th May 2019, 2 people had announced PPR on the AVO whatsapp group (they moved to ip2 after me o), then sometime around 3, I checked my phone (as I had been all day) and saw a mail. Unlocked my phone and saw…….. you guessed right… ‘do not reply cic’. My entire body started shaking, my mind was racing, is this PPR or ADR (for famous 5) or rejection letter? I logged in (had a failed attempt cos I was shaking) and saw a request letter. Opened it and read the words “it appears your application has been approved and your visa is ready to be issued…..”. I just locked my computer (na office I dey o) picked up my phone, dialed hubby’s number while stepping out of the office and when he picked I said “baby im shaking” he said “what is it, are you alright”, I said “yes, it has dropped, its PPR”. By this time, I was out of the office and I screamed….. God has done it!!!!!!!
This thread has amazing people, even though I was not active, I feel like I know you all. God bless you all and keep up the good work. To everyone in one phase or the other, please keep at it, God is ever faithful just hold on to Him, he will see you through. The journey is worth every effort
Sorry for the very long post (I actually dint think it will be this long) but I had been postponing posting my stories; from IELTS to ITA. I could not but come back and share my story, cos I gained a lot from here; not just knowledge, laughter as well and sorry the gist is just coming in, being battling with how to post on here.
@lady marshall, please do me well o

IELTS
This was done with BCIE which wasn’t a smooth sail for me. I didn’t study much cos I felt it would be a walk in the park since it’s ‘english’ but I didn’t know ielts had plans to humble me. Score was SLWR 7,6.5.6.5,7. My wife passed hers! I wasn’t deterred. I immediately registered with MOD and took the test 1 month later and after much intensified jacking, I passed with the minimum required score 8777.

Thank you @ifeoma77 for your assistance.

1. If you want to claim points for her education, then she needs to do eca to prove her cert.
2. If you want to claim points for it so as to boost your score cos i believe she's an accompanying spouse so it ll help in your EE. Otherwise, its not compulsory.
3. One Wes acct CANNOT be used for both of you. You need to create separate account and verify your certs separately because you both carry diff names.
Aibisoye0:
Dear house, good morning....I have some questions and need clarifications. I'm applying for my family and I'm the primary applicant.

1. Does my wife need to verify her own certificates as well?
2. Does she need to take IELTS?
3. If she needs to verify her certificates, can one WES account be used for my wife and I?

Thank you as you clarify

I think he said he's 35yrs ooo. Not 33
Zara01:
I calculated your score based on the information you provided and it's 447, using 33 as your age at the time of applying and 8777 for LSRW.

You can increase your score by doing VERY well in your IELTS, you have to max it out.
L 8
S 7.5
R 8
W 7.5

With this IELTS result you will get a 456.

If you apply by next year when you'd be 34, your score will be 451 so you're still good to go.

All the best!

1. Both of you can write the ielts. It helps to boost your crs score esp if you have good band scores in the 4 components. You can use the crs tool to simulate your score. From there, you ll knw if both shud do eca or not.
2. Yes
3. You can do ny 1 first but i ll advise you start with ECA because of the duration it takes to get it done. While doing that, you can be preping for your ielts exam.

Good evening Guys,
Please my wife & I want to commence the EE process with me as the PA.My question is :

Morning All, I will be 4 months post AOR on Monday, I just remembered this morning that the PA has been denied UK Student Visa once before in 2007 but I didnt remember when i was filling the applcication as am the accompanying spouse and she didnt as well reminded me maybe she too forgot and I got to remember now due to our conversation. Though I have called CIC like thrice and they told me Eligibilty met, Criminality met, BG check ongoing but not finalized, security not started. I planned ordering GCMS notes on Monday to actually know what is a happening to the application. Pls what do u think I should do as per the student visa?

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by Brownie1003: 1:59pm On Apr 26, 2019
I disagree with you my friend. There is a diff btw google and personal experience. Def, Google ll tell u want you want to know but those with personal experiences in terms of how they should go about it when submitting or uploading docs. Or those who didnt use the right noc nd their ita app was rejected. Or those who didnt know how to request their transcript based on their busy schedule or work schedule. ...etc.
The truth is this thread has been helpful. I wish i saw this thread last year nd not this year because it was from this thread i knew i could be the PA.
Fyn, they dont owe the thread ny ppr script but whenever i see one, i feel motivated and happy. I tap into the blessing and pray that i ll testify to receiving mine soon.
Suspectzero:
All these people whining about PPR script, just deal with it. They don't owe you anything. The way you complain is even quite off putting. You can't brow beat people into doing anything for you online. People are more likely to not post anything at all if this is the kind of response they get.

You say they asked lots of questions, you see, that's the actual difference, they had to ask the questions to get the responses they wanted, they didn't sit back and wait to be fed automatically by PPR scripts.

There are far more avenues for getting information about express entry than via nairaland. I think the real lazy ones are the ones who want to just sit here and get all their information from just one source. Google is your friend.

I will have that score wen my cert is ready but trying to plan ahead in case d draw score increases.
Debsify:
why do you want to increase your scores when you have a wonderful score of 454?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by Brownie1003: 10:12pm On Apr 25, 2019
Yes. 454 is okay. I'm just trying to prepare ahead because no1 knws wat d draw score would be in the nearest future considering the fact that i still await my pgd cert. Thanks a lot.
amaya21:
454 is a decent score either way, assuming everything entered into the CRS calculator was done accurately. You don't need French with this score. Just ensure your upcoming IELTS is at least 8777 if you're the PA.
