It's only God that will punish these people. Just got an invite from them. They advertised vacancies as Phyatex International. I was suspicious when the sender of the email was HR Jennifer. I came straight to Nairaland to check. Useless people.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by bsoda: 4:44pm On Jan 09, 2014
adorablemummy: PLEASE AM SORRY TO DERAIL THIS THREAD BUT I HAVE BEEN READING ALL THE POSTS HERE AND I APPRECIATE HOW YOU MOTHERS/FATHERS HAVE BEEN LOOKING OUT FOR 1 AND ANOTHER,,,PLEASE AM IN NEED OF ALL YOUR ADVISE,,PLEASE ,,i have posted in the family section but i also think posting here would help, once again so sorry to derail the thread..........

I have a 7 months old baby and require the services of a nanny but i have been encountering some issues :

1. First and foremost, i live very far away from my place of work and so i have to leave home by 4:30 am every week day to catch the staff bus (my resumption time at work is 6:30am and i get to work by 6:10 or 6:15am) my husband leaves home at about the same time too.

2. Secondly, we occupy a room and parlour apartment.

I would prefer to have a live-in maid as she would be able to sleep in the living room at night and change her clothes in the bathroom e.t.c but i recently had a bad experience with one sometime back when my baby was barely 4 months, she just woke up 1 morning when we were away at work and left my house without telling anybody her whereabouts, when she was finally found, she said she left cos she didn't want to work as a maid anymore. i was lucky i had my sister living with me then,,,i wonder if the maid would have left my baby all alone at home when she had her nervous breakdown.
Getting a nanny that would resume work by 4:20am to close for maybe 6/7pm has been impossible and me quitting work is out of the issue completely. My mother is not available to help me and am out of options,,,,,QUITTING MY JOB NOW WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE my husband's salary can barely take care of 1 person how much more 3/4 people,so i have to work to assist him. There are no proper daycare/crech around my area as i have checked and the available ones don't live in the school premises, so dropping the baby off that early is out of the issue.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO ,,,,,,My sister would be leaving for school at the end of the month and i dnt know how i'll care for my child while i work,i am so scared of getting another live-in maid and leaving the baby all alone with her as my sister has to go back to school after the ASUU strike has been called off.

Good people, please put yourselves in my shoe and give me a candid advise, there is a saying that a problem shared is half solved,,,I NEED YOUR ADVICE.
So sorry dear. You're really going through a lot. But all I can say is virtually every option has its own pros & cons. Be it nanny, live-in maid or daycare. I'll just advise u to pray & ask God for his guidance. He can give u a maid that will let u have peace of mind. Cos if u ask me, from d way u're talking, a good maid is what u need. I just resumed on monday & I've not gotten anyone to assist with my baby. Fortunately my mum is helping out but she has to leave soon. So I'm really confused on what to do. God help us all. Its well. smiley

mamaryan: Happy New year everyone, please house my 7 weeks old baby boy makes a grunting sound mostly when sleeping and just recently I noticed that he sounds like he has mucus in his throat, but he can't get it out. He doesn't have cough and breaths fine and still feeds well. No high temperature, he seems ok. But the sound gets to me. Is there anything to be worried about.

PS, am staying in a place where paediatricians are not available just general doctors.

Thanks.. for helping out a worried be new mom in advance.
My dear, something like this happened to my son o. MIL said it was caused by catarrh & cos he was too little, he couldn't clear his throat himself. At 5 weeks, I couldn't bear it again & I took him to d doctor. D doc checked him, checked his lungs, etc & found nothing. He said there's something (I've forgotten what he called it) that's in d throat of all babies. Some of them come with it already resolved while for others it will resolve on its own. He said I should observe till about 10 weeks if there's no change, I should return. As God will have it, d noise stopped when my son was about 8weeks plus. So I'll advise u to see a doc inorder to be doubly sure.smiley All d best dear.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by bsoda: 4:39am On Dec 14, 2013
@switayi sorry about that. Well, your baby is probably not latched on to ur breast properly. U have to try & make sure his mouth is opened wide (by rubbing ur nipple up & down on his lips), then put all d nipple & most of d aureole in. If not u might end up having painful sores on ur nipples. Most people say to have sore nipples is normal. But it isn't. If ur baby is properly latched on, u won't have problems.smiley But better still, complain to ur doctor. That's what they're there for.grin

veronix: Mine did that also, but do not panick, he is trying to put on weight but go and meet your pediatrician and hear what he has to say. Another thing i did was take Cotton bud and dip it in a balm that is not too hot and insert it in his anus. You will see wonder. Godluck.
@veronix thanx for the response. I tried the cotton bud thingy. 2ce within 4 days. But nothing came out & I'm not too comfortable doing it often cos I feel it's not fair on the little guy. You know?

Hello everyone! Been a while. Compliments of the season. Please, a question. My 3 month old doesn't poop often. I mean like he goes once every 8-9 days. Is this normal? His tummy isn't hard. It doesn't ache him either cos he does not cry. I've tried stopping dairy products but no change o. He's exclusively breastfed. This started from when he was about 6 weeks. But he has a lot of wet diapers though. Pls o any advice will be highly welcome smiley

Hello beautiful mamas! Hope you're all fine. I just want to contribute to d stretch mark matter o. I didn't have stretch marks through out my pregnancy. I was at 37 weeks before some stretch marks came out. Around my navel. I noticed the first lines when my belly started feeling very taut, started applying shea butter like crazy. Few more still came out despite my efforts, they're faint tho. So I guess it's more about skin types though. I was using Jergens as my normal cream during my pregnancy.

Thanks everyone 4 d well-wishes. May God & bless you all. I also wish all d beautiful preggy mamas a safe delivery.
Let me give u d gist. My pregnancy was kind of high risk cos I lost d previous 2. D first at abt a month & d 2nd at 5 months. But God is faithful. Was induced on 4th of November last yr because of d miscarriage, saw my period in December, then missed it in January smiley Took me just a month to get pregnant! Well I refused to take any hormone injections, etc to sustain d pregnancy. I just trusted in God & in His word. D pregnancy went ok till 33 wks when I started bleeding. Fear CATCH me ehn! Had to take 2 wks sick leave immediately cos I was placed on bed rest. My doc ws blaming me y I didn't take injections cos I changed hospitals & he wsnt d one I used d other time. Hmmm, he started saying things like d baby will probably not reach full-term, dat what we shld pray 4 is 4 d baby to stay till like 36 weeks whn it'll b better 4 him to survive outside d womb. That was a terrifying & trying period but I bless God for His mercies. I just kept rejecting all d dire predictions he was saying & kept praying to God. I wanted my baby to get to terrn,

Fast-forward to 39 weeks. God was extremely faithful. D bleeding stopped & didn't return. My baby was healthy. Now d doctor was talking abt inducing me if I didn't go in2 labor by 40 wks (dat was when I started asking u all abt inducing. Lol) I was scared cos I didn't want anythn artificial at allllllll & I learnt induced labor is more painful than natural (where I wan get power 4 dat one? Hehehe). Although I kept having Braxton Hicks contractions for abt a wk, there were no adequate signs of labour. Chei! Dis story long o! Lemme continue it differently. Lol

Hello beautiful mummies! Pls o, I want to ask... What is u guys' take on inducing labour? Is it really necessary? As in r the risks more than the benefits?

@esmeralda If u ask me, eczema is on the skin not from within so I doubt it'll affect d baby. It's not even contagious like ringworm, etc. Besides d baby sucks on d nipple not the breast na. If she's skeptical about what d first medical personnel told her, she should ask from another.

@smokey drinky, @rukemi & @twinmama, all of u should not worry. Una dey find fat abi? It's coming very soon. Hehehe

@chicolo try & observe d things u eat that make u throw up more often. Maybe they're fried with g/oil or something. Observe n avoid.
