Well, just silently hoping they would be able to hold their respective fortes when duty calls. Even though there is a silent nag -as a conservative- that that number is way, way too much, I am of the opinion that these gentlemen and ladies who graduated summa cumlaude deserve our congratulations and keep them up. Congratulations. And may your success bring you more successes. |

I want to thank Seun Osewa for one thing on a day like this- for putting in every mamber's profile info, the day the member joined Nairaland. Has anyone taken note that (almost) ALL these Maku bootlickers joined Nairaland this year (2012). In fact, some joined same day and most, same week. Pls see for yourselves! Like someone's quote says, "Karma is unisex". Bandits and Beggars! Nobody will join issues with you: Your children's curses await you at your graves. Wait! Judgment day is a day off hence. |
Well, ruling out investigating the true cause of the fire, if this was indeed done by arsonists, then it calls for caution. Even if there is no religion, nobody in his right senses should set fellow human's property on fire for whatever reason. Shame on the lossers. |
I would have loved to do a table. But pls do the maths. 1. Under Soludo, the middle class blossomed. With SLS it is abolished. 2. With Soludo, we knew what each bank stood for. Today, they all look clueless like Mr Preso and his cronies 3. Under Sls, the office of the CBN Gov must always be in the news and he must be the govt's PRO, 'bad-mouthing Nigerian banks and bankers in every available intl forum. With Soludo, you only hear what concerns you. He also was always advertising Nigerian Banks. 4. Under Sls, the banks' Pbt is in Nbillions. Under Soludo, their profits were also in billions 5. Soludo is a 1st Class reknown Prof of Economics with cognitive experience. Sls is an MA holder in Arabic from a Sudannese university with cognitive banking experience. 6. Soludo taught the banks to fish for N25b for capitalisation. Sls gave them fishes to recapitalise; asked for his fish back after 5 months and put them up for sale to buy fish. 7. 'Had SLS not acted, the WHOLE bankng sector would have collapsed' some argue. But really, is there anyone here who strongly believes that Sls Mainstreet Bank -for example, is better stood than Soludo's Afribank. 8. Under Soludo NSPMintingCorp didnt thief raw cash running into double digit billions. With Sls, it is a already 'azonto'! 9. Soludo allowed the banks to plant ATMs where necessary, to bring banks closer. Sls cancelled it to achieve nothing. And we are running cashless! 10. Under Soludo, Otedola, Aig, (Cecelia) Ibru, Akingbola, etc were friends with the presidency, and in huge debts- as published by SLS. Today, they are still in huge debts and are still friends with the presidency, only they no longer 'give a damn' about creating jobs. 11. Under Soludo, the CBN was manned by a Prof -fessional economist. Under SLS, it is manned by an Arabic scholar. Posterity is a better judge. |
I keep wondering why we Nigerian youths cant just organise ourselves and descend on those useless and accursed Esther BreakThrough (with their numerous aliases) to teach other scammers a lesson. We all know whey are scammers. Maybe for shame or what, why dont we protect our younger ones from these evil people. After all, most of us were scammed by these id!ots and yet we allow them to continue with their trade of sorrow- For the records, EBThrough screwed me in 2006, and they are still thriving screwing fellow unsuspecting Nigerians. |
I too like the guy songs die! He hardly sings trash. He is a social-commentator, but I no dey tire dey wonder why people no too like him songs. God bless you and your family bro. |
baslone: 3 WAYS To CATCH A TIGER. . .Your 'Tiger Catching Theory' cracked me up real bad. Really. |
First, congratulations to UBA. I am sure most of you would have been happier if it were given to some foreign banks. Keep it up guys. Too, even though anybody can 'organise' an award for anybody, in this case the awarding body is a proven entity. Not one Nnamdi Amuda & Co trying to shore up favours and reward it's client. Three, I neither bank nor work with either banks- but I know that UBA's customer care at the RETAIL end shivers in comparison to GTb's. But then, banking business is beyond the nods and genuflects you get when you bring (or come to take) your monthly meager N20,000. (Maybe another body who rates banks based on other specific parameters-like customer care experience, tech and innovation, corp soc res, shareholders base/fund etc. may come up with something to massage our expectations). When it comes to consumer banking-where banking matters- inter alia, like financing and access to it, GTb crumbles at the feet of UBA. It is beyond PHYSICAL gatelessness. No, it is beyond it. Fourthly, even though it may be true that our national banking history rubbishes the integrity of awards, it is not untrue that awards-the world over- will always be given and used as a tool for motivation and recognition. Take a deep breath. Think about it; with just what you see and know about both banks: Between GTb and UBA, who is actually financially strengthening Africa? Again, think about it. My cup. |

It is a long story. It was 2000. Just lost my dad. I was with my uncle in Ilorin. I learnt that admission was on in Offa Poly, so I went to stay in our distant relatives' family house in Offa to complete school admission registration issues. I shared a room with 2 other boys, who we call ourselves 'cousins'. I went back to Ilorin after just 3 days when I heard that Unilorin has started admission process too. The following morning, on my way to Unilorin, just at the exit of our street, I met my so-called cousin and he said my attention was needed in Offa. After much persuassion, he said something was missing and all the boys were asked to be called. I felt like, 'What nonsense!' Without going back to tell my family, I followed him to Offa. I even paid his t-fare for the 1hr trip. I got to Offa to meet a crowd wa |
So apt. Our country is just one funny silly old joke. Come 2015, we will still find these kind of headlines because of our corporate mental recession. Nothing changing: same old story retold by same jesters and same old characters. Only that the jesters are getting dementia and the characters are getting old. |
...nail him, let us take it to the JTF, NPF, DMI, SSS, what have you. Considering the Mubi malady, where was the JTF while that sickening lasted esp bcs the whole state was under curfew lockdown? Does my ascribing complicity to the JTF make me a Boko Haram apologist? Well, if that gives you orgasm, use it. Let Nigerians criticize their govt, be you ex-minister or current street hawker- it is the first charter of the UN-of freedom- that people have a say on who governs them and how they are governed. Sadly our unfounded hatred for the Adamawa Mallam cant stop this universal civilisation. My heart is with all those families who have lost their loved ones to either or both of the armed groups in Northern Nigeria. Pls be comforted. Life repays. |

I cant stop wondering how and when we & our country became one old silly joke! - How many of the people commenting here i. read El Rufai's Facebook commentary on the killing of the rtd Gen. And or ii. Have first-hand info on how he was murdered? What we all do is hide behind our internet gadgets and form vipers. When did it make one any less patriotic by being critical of his/her govt? If we have personal issues with the short Mallam, let us take it up with him. If we have tangible evidence to nail him |
[quote author=Ikenna351]Is not a matter of if your car will start after swapping in the VW Golf engine. The car may start and run, but the entire electrics of the car will become a nightmare. I believe your Lion has BSI (Body System Interface). It controls every body electronics of the car, including the engine ecu. So it maynot work properly, since it wont be connected to the Golf Engine ECU. BSI makes it difficult for newer Peugeots to be stolen, unless at gun point or with the key of that car. To start a Peugeot with BSI without its factory key, the Key switch components, engine ecu and BSI unit must be removed and another of those components removed from another BSI peugeot and swapped in. I dont see a thief stealing the 3 components a Peugeot 207 to steal another Peugeot 207, knowning it will take him hours to do the swapping before he could start the car. Have you contacted Peugeot dealership about the ecu? Thank you for your insightful opinion. And yes, I have contacted 'almost all' Pug dealer in Lagos. They don't have it. In fact, the one that bragged the most and got me to make a deposit just gave me a dated cheque for refund after 3 months. I am in touch with some liaison guy from PAN Kaduna, the last we spoke, he still kept saying they don't have it in stock and have placed orders repeatedly in France for it. His point is France does not (yet) have stock of ECUs for the 207s imported into Nigeria. (My brother, I don suffer...) So, you understand my frustration. Let's hope Siena breaks this jinx for us. Truly, I thank you for your response. |
Siena: Unless you want a car that'll be worth less than scrap value, I wouldn't even consider an engine from a different manufacturer. You'll create more issues than you'll solve.Siena Baba, Thanks for your learned response. I have been patiently waiting for it. Like you advised me earlier on another thread. Pls can you help get the price of one? I would appreciate a response. The ECU Part no. is TJ1681142206. Another no is written underneath it- M2E1. And on the plastic casing- 96 537 757 80. The car's VIN is VF3WCKFV734401771. Thanks bro. Again thanks and have a great day. |
This is calling on all auto-experts/lovers to put in their ideas. I own a 2007 56 plate Peugeot 207 1.4ltr manual. It was bought brand new in 2009. My current challenge is that I have a fried ECU and have not been able to find a match April till date. Recently an auto-tech advised that we implant a Nissan Primera or VW Golf GTi’s engine and gear. The tech is convinced it will work; I am still wondering if it won't end up messing the car up. Pls I need answers. Will it work? What happens to my electrical components of the car; being that the car is pretty electrical. Though the workshop tries to assure me, based, they said, on their experience, that it will work. But I really need all the answers from experienced parties. Pls, feel free to drop your opinion? |
oya naw... #Siena, Ikeana, Inspired_M, and all other gigantic auto experts on NL... pls I am waiting for your inputs. |
I own a 2007 Peugeot 207 1.4ltr manual. It was bought brand new in 2009. Shortly after its purchase, it was in an accident and even though I had insurance, it took the workshop 6 months to fix it largely because of the non-availability of the spare-parts. I must confess that the car makes a fantastic drive but in its life with me, it has spent its better lifetime in the auto-workshops than on the road. The parts are never readily available For every little issue with the car, it is either we have to order the part from the UK or France and or must necessarily part with one’s lifesavings for it. If i hadn’t owned cars previously, I would think it is the same way every car is super-expensive to maintain. I have been to many users’ forums on the net and everywhere seems to be replete with bitter owners/technicians. My current challenge is that I have a fried ECU and we have not been able to find a match April till date. Recently an auto-tech advised that we implant a Nissan Primera or VW Golf gti’s engine and gear. The tech is convinced it will work; I am still wandering in the bags of questions in my head... Pls I need answers. Will it work? What happens to my electrical steering? The ABS? What about the Airbags- all things working with the ECU? Though the workshop tries to assure me, based, they said, on their experience, that it will work. But I really need answers from an informed 3rd party. What is your opinion? |
My Pug is a 2007 1.4 ltr 6 gear manual drive. |
Thank you 'baby'. |
Thank you #Siena. The delayed response was due to my inability to get the ECU from the guy who took it to 'Ladipo' in search of one. I have it now. The ECU Part no. is TJ1681142206. Another no is written underneath it- M2E1. And on the plastic casing- 96 537 757 80. The car's VIN is VF3WCKFV734401771. Thanks bro. Just yesterday a mech-tech strongly suggested that we transplant the engine and gear with a Nissan Primera or Golf Gti's. Pls let me know your learned opinion sir. Again, thanks and God bless. |

Hoping diesel and generator barons have not kidnapped any of his children for his resignation. Is corruption still losing the war? |
I am battling with a similar problem. I drive a Peugeot 207. It started with the car cutting power, which came with the 'Engine Mgt System Faulty' sign. After paying through the eye of the needle to get it fixed, my mech took it to a car wash, unsolicited, and got the engine compartment washed too. 3 days later, the 'Depollution System Faulty' came up and the car began choosing when to respond to kick-starting. The car eventually refused to start sometime in April and has remained grounded after a pug expert diagnosed the ECU as fried. April till date, we have not been able to get a matching ECU, BSI, and key. The car has been a wonderful car only that its maintenance and parts have been worrisome. I am even contemplating selling the car after fixing it, but it would break my heart to sell unhappiness to someone else. Pls help Siena. Pls help. |
