The EU would not declare war on USA for any reason. It is USA that is declaring war on Europe by threatening to steal Greenland.

That said, wars are not what they used to be, and would likely not be fought with bombs but with finance. And a country that is almost $40T in debt is likely to be very vulnerable to those who hold its bonds and have been more prudent.
