RaptorX:Sorry, but you are making up stuff to believe with no evidence at all. Most of us "Nigerian children born in the UK especially the boys" are doing very well thank you, as are our children who were also born here, and you should not assume a few bad Nigerians represent us all when they clearly can not and don't. Instead of "discipline your child", by which I assume you mean "beat your child" , I suggest you educate your child to be disciplined instead. |
I intrigued that Vice-Chancellor Professor Jamila Shu’ara was not named in this piece. https://von.gov.ng/amina-mohammed-maada-bio-inspire-baze-university-graduates/ |
Meedon:Why did you quit? Was it too hard to understand or did you not like it? |
ono:Ono, dump's speech on Jan6 was live on telly for all to see. I watched it on Fox because I was not interested in CNN's commentary, and his entire speech even before Jan 6 was "fight like hell". Even if he did not utter those exact words at the beginning, his supporters sure did "fight like hell" from the start and on his behest and behalf, and rewriting history won't change that fact.

Meedon:My poor eyes! I did come across Schopenhauer in my Buddhism studies years ago but haven't yet read any of his books. Have you? |
joseph1832:If you googled the image in my post that you quoted you'd find, To indicate how well endowed he is, the social media star flung her forearm onto the table, so size obviously mattered to her, but size is not the thing that matters the most to many people. I'm certain you've read many times on Nairaland that the size of your wallet matters more to many, and some of us prefer you have a brain and can use it. |
I'm actually wondering if Mamdani will Taco. Maco? https://wolfstreet.com/2025/11/11/a-50-year-mortgage-does-nothing-for-affordability-is-a-terrible-deal-for-homeowners-and-a-superb-deal-for-banks-investors/

joseph1832:That there might be better more valuable and important things about the op than his d? To be sincere, yes I do believe the op might have more desirable things than a d. He might be smart. He might be kind. He might be clean, disciplined and matured. He might be smart and intelligent and witty and lots of many other things that are much more desirable than the size of a d that the op could be I believe because I don't know, hence me asking instead of lying, as you claim. Or do you have any evidence the op might not be any of these things and or more? |

At first I thought, do they like these people so much they don't want them to go. “We may be compelled to impose sanctions if they persist in absenting themselves from party activities. You cannot just wake up one morning and declare resignation with immediate effect — it is never done. Leadership requires procedure, not impulse,” he warned. They must attend by force! ![]() |
Do you mean, can a Christian-Christian ticket win a presidential election by getting the majority of votes according to the Nigerian Constitution? If so, I seriously doubt it, with the current tensions that have been whipped up. In fact, I'm almost tending to think a Christian-Muslim ticket will fail too, but it also depends on who that Christians is, I suppose. I nominate this person for the first half and this for the second to see if I can set sparrows against pigeons. |
LINSAR:Are you certain that what you see is those men not knowing how to use their selves? Do you not know that the size of a d does not the man make? Surely there must be other things that are good about you than your d. No?

Meedon:Most likely my mind, to be honest. And what I read. Though my eyes aren't what they used to be, I confess. There were days I could read for hours non-stop, but more and more my mind has gotten in the way to further consider what my eyes see. My eyes just want to look while my mind wants to see for itself how it looks, and determine what might be meant and what it could be used for. It's like they at war. Frustrating when there's lots of questions on a page. My reading is somewhat hard too, I think. Lately, it's been Kant. I've started from when he believed and before he started using his mind so I can read his more mature Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, having just recently finished Being and Time which has taken me ......... I'm letting you work out and tell. Screw all that. I'm just lazy these days is true too. |

This amused me. budaatum: |
Meedon:My mum was not an atheist. Both my parents were Anglican born and bred, and attended Saint John's Primary School where they taught them to read the Bible from the beginning to the end. And that was I brought up with, or rather, was kobokorised into us her children. She had a three headed one in those early days. That said, I do somewhat agree that "child upbringing determines the religion he or she will follow", though there are millions of exceptions, as many do not continue to follow their parents religion as many atheists here will confirm. My maternal great great grandfather, for instance, was born into Ifa and sent his son to learn Islam when they arrived in the Orolu Kingdom with a book. My great grandfather sent his son to the Anglican school when they arrived because they had a book, and my grandfather did the same with my mother. For as far as they were concerned, a book is Ifa, and Ifa is the Word of God. Mother though, being a nurse who worked shifts to feed mouths, never had time for church or routine, so the disciplined aspect of learning to read was compensated with koboko, sadly, but that meant my reading was not corrupted with jump around the book that Christians often practise, thank the Gods. My paternal great grand father was Basorun, the King of all the Heavens over the Orolu Kingdom - at least. We are arrogant like that - and I think my father was looking for ways to king the heavens. Lol. After all, "In the beginning was the Word", and "not by bread alone", so he too read, a lot, seeking the Way. So in all honesty, you are correct in saying, my child upbringing determined that the religion I will follow will be 'book reading', or it at least used to be since my eyes work no more so I hardly get to finish a book these days. I think my reading was about god hunting, which I've exhausted, so let's say my past religion was hunting for understanding, which I religiously did till I understood, at least to the extent that I do, for that's what the word "god" signifies, to me. I add the below to antagonise the sight of deep.

Meedon:Yes she did. Even when you done nothing wrong sometimes. There was a time she was frustrated having to bring up her 5 kids by herself and wasn't coping well. Now you make me think, Meedon, it's likely her who brought me up an atheist. After my dad and his Amorc obsession, her mantra was more "from the sweat of thy brow shall you eat" than, "manna from heaven", and no gods saved us from that koboko. So I bought a dog, lol. It loved chewing the leather and saved me a lot. |
Meedon:It's a six headed whip made from cow leather that my mother was very adept at using.
|
DeepSight:I feel that is what triplechoice accuses me of. I quote and write about Amorc, and he assumes one must "subscribe wholly". It's like assuming that all those who quote Bible are Christians or Muslims if they quote the Quran. What are we if we quote Shakespeare, I wonder. That said, A001 specifically said, "posts praising Qur'an and/or the Bible", so let me. These are likely the 2 most read books in Nigeria, if not the world, so I praise them for their ubiquity, and for lasting so long, for that is a feat in itself. I'll also praise them for their contradictory content, because nothing creates doubt in them than that, and I praise them for the subjects they cover, some being mythology, fabuology, pseudo-history, and moreso manipulativeness, to name only a few negatives while disregarding positives if any. For I find it amusingly disturbing at how so easily it turns people into naked ignorant slaves instead of images of their gods, and delight at how it can also so easily be used for it's inverse. As a side. I bought Aesop Fables for my 7 year old niece because I have lots of praise for it. It's a big book, so it's unlikely she'd have the opportunity to be lazy.

triplechoice:Triple, buda has never deleted a post or thread by buda, and you saying buda deleted a post or thread by buda without showing any evidence that buda deleted a post or thread is itself evidence of something. Every single evidence about buda that you claimed you posted which includes a quote of buda, I presume, is still here for everyone to read for themselves. All you have to do is post a link to you first pointing it out, and letting them go see if buda has deleted it. |
triplechoice:First, you are the only one who accuses me of pretending to be an atheist. You can either take my word, or read my posts for evidence, or believe whatever you want about buda. All please me. Second, I have provided you with anecdotes for you to inform yourself whether I am a paying member of Amorc or not. I'll even add to the story. Over the years of 1960-73, and 79-86, my father, whom my mother paid dues for his membership of Amorc in UK, collected quite a lot of Amorc magazines and manuscripts which he guided dearly, not letting anyone touch them. But in 2014, he called a cousin of mine, they poured petrol on them and burnt them all. I arrived home a month later to spend time with him, and found out and was livid. I told my father that that was likely the largest collection of Amorc stuff in the Orolu Kingdom of Ifon Osun if not Osun State, and I am his first child and, "you burnt the only inheritance you have to pass on to me!" "I did not know you were interested in them", he said, which infuriated me even more since I'd bought him some rare books by Spencer Lewis in the past. My father died in 2016 and left me no inheritance. Regarding your "he is the one who disrespected and offended me in the past", this is Nairaland where you can be offended and disrespected almost every post. A thick skin helps. Now, regarding this thread itself, which I started and called The Mission, and which you have attempted to turn into an 'antiAmorc buda' thread. Do know that it is a long term mission, and you should have minded what you said in it in its embryonic stage so it doesn't come back to ruffle you if that's what it does now. I opened it for a mission, and it will be resurrected and will endure till I die. Now, the last bit, "teaches about the soul and spiritual consciousness", indeed Amorc does do that, and I have posted numerous books where they talk of it being done, but that consciousness should make one understand one's limits, and that anything Amorc or anyone or organisation says should not be believed but understood, and you definitely should not pay subscriptions for it because most of their stuff is now free. The image below is to manipulate and confuse, and is a test for the mind of the reader. Be warned!

The 10-year Treasury yield closed on Friday at 4.11%, essentially where it had been for seven trading days, up by 12 basis points from October 28, the day before the Fed cut its policy rates, and up by 48 basis points since the first rate cut in this cycle in September 2024, when the 10-year yield was 3.63%. The 30-year Treasury yield rose to 4.70%. It was 4.55% just before the October rate cut, and 3.94% before the rate cut in September 2024. The Fed has now cut by 150 basis points, and the 30-year yield has risen over the same period by 76 basis points. Long-term yields are determined by the dynamics in the bond market, not by the Fed’s short-term policy rates. https://wolfstreet.com/2025/11/09/entire-treasury-yield-curve-from-6-months-to-30-years-has-risen-since-feds-rate-cut-mortgage-rates-too-bond-market-edgy-about-inflation-supply/
