sexylassie2:You make it sound as if this began with some people looting and not with people taking responsibility for the change that would stop them being choked to death or shot in the back. Do note that the opinion of an oppressor would not count much with the oppressed, for obvious reasons. |
sexylassie2:I think you misunderstand racism. It is racist to tarnish black people, or gay people, or Nigerians or any group of people for the bad doings of a few members of the group. If black people went by such reasoning, they'd be lynching white folks. As the [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Jackson_%28songwriter%29?wprov=sfla1]George Henry Jackson[/url] (March 12, 1945 – April 14, 2013) wrote and many sang, "One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, girl"

ZooOga:They paying him back for getting their racist confederate flag banned. We'll see if they drive him off the road too. |
sexylassie2:You believe this, sexy? That the rebellion of a minority group is not a response to maltreatment by the majority group but "bad behaviour" of the minority? I see you might have whipped the chains on. Here's what you remind me of. [O]ur slaves are enjoying the most perfect security and freedom from excessive labor, the most lawless riots and violence, so frequently inflicted on the Blacks of the North.... It is a fact, known to every planter in the South, that our slaves, at some seasons of the year, do not labor half the day to accomplish the work required, while it is a matter of record before the Committee on Ways and Means in Congress, that the laborers in Northern Manufactures are required to work from the earliest dawn of day, to 9 o'clock at night. The condition of our slaves are [sic] therefore implicitly more independent, comfortable and free, than those over-worked and oppressed laborers, as they are clothed and fed—have as much land as they can cultivate—raise an abundance of poultry, to exchange for the comforts and some of the luxuries of life; and when sick, or the infi[r]mities of a faithful old age secures to them such a freedom as the hypocrits [sic] and fanatics of this abol[i]tion mania will never afford them, their wants are supplied and they are carefully attended in a comfortable Hospital on most plantations; because it is the interest of a master to relieve the sufferings of his slave. It is his pleasure to see them contented. Such are the relations between master and servant, and these vile Abolitionists, these Disunionists and Anarchists would sever [sic], and such are the happy people they wish to cast unprovided for upon a wide and pitiless world!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treatment_of_slaves_in_the_United_States?wprov=sfla1 |

Xavfra:Ask him to tell you about his sole protest. You'd see how weak its base was. Yet he shuns the intellectual cement that could strengthen it. |
Jimi24:We all should know that with our low energy consumption, both electric and petrol, and our inability to promote doctrine (no libraries, no school books, no chalk and incompetent teachers etc), our ability to think would be limited. The youth are not wasted. They are simply developing. |

TheSourcerer:You don't get to tell me who I mention, Source, and I do not need your empathy thank you. As for why you cannot read my post anymore, I'd say it's because you have not yet developed the ability to understand more than you currently do. Please, cover your eyes and make out you ignore buda. I assure you you will fail. One does not "turn back". One does not abandon what one learns about an ideology just because one is learning about another. I did not believe in the existence of superbeings when I was an atheist, and now that I am studying religious texts I still don't believe superbeings exist. But as far as Nigerians are concerned, referencing a book makes one a worshipper or believer in that book it seems, hence capslocked would say buda is a "theist" without defining what he might mean, and you, being a believer, is disappointed and lost empathy and are not rejuvenated, but want to blame it on me, lol. I am rereading the book in order to understand it because I love reading difficult to understand books like the texts of Nigeria's main religions. I figured, since a majority of Nigerians are influenced and get their language from those books, one who wishes to positively impact Nigeria would best read them in order to understand the motivation and language of a majority of Nigerians. Also, since the books are so old and underlie quite a lot of Western and Middle Eastern and African philosophy and thought, understanding them gives one insight into the evolution of human existence in a particular part of the world and provides a model for comparison. |
Xavfra:I don't yet know how true this is, but it's organised youths "taking power". https://time.com/5856720/rumps-tulsa-rally-teens-tiktok-kpop/ https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1274499021625794565?s=19

Dantedasz:Theistic Plato and his atheism. Plato’s point: the general terms of our language are not “names” of the physical objects that we can see. They are actually names of things that we cannot see, things that we can only grasp with the mind. buda's understanding: the "general terms" (i.e., gods, heaven, pray, salvation, Jesus, reality, atheist, theist, etc) are to be understood with the mind. |

Aidejay:Wisdom" might "diminishes as you grow older" perhaps after 70 years old, least not before 60, especially if one were a learner and continued seeking wisdom. So youth has to wait until the the elders relinquish the influence they amassed in their prime when they were young say in their 40s, and held on to till they died at, say, eighty. Won't youth be hitting 50 by then, too consolidated themselves to bother to change anything? And wouldn't the elders have consolidated in place for generations after, those who would prevent the desecration of their graves forever? One thing the wise often do is they reflect, and the experiences they have as they grow older gives them a lot to reflect on. You, hopefully, understand the relationship of the ability to reflect and being wise. Wisdom does not diminish as one grows older. Though I do admit that the elders we have do not seem wise. I think it's the non-acknowledgement of the saying that goes, ọmọde ati agba li a fi da ile Ifẹ. Translated it means, 'Ife was built by the young and the old'. Wise people will incorporate both into their planning since they have different skill sets, but our Nigerian elders do not appear to be doing this unless it's to the youths who's souls they've bought. Not wise at all, would be my verdict of our so called elders. |
Palehair:When we scream and shout we merely show that we are not yet intelligent and smart and wise. One day we will have learnt to speak in such a way that we are listened to and heard. |
TheSourcerer:First, forgive me. It is said by some that I write senseless yodaish English that is impossible to understand and I am certain to do so here. The forgiveness is however for references to the most read book in Nigeria. With eyes, you'd get it. Unfortunately those you are asking to "let the youths have power" have amassed the energy of the youth to empower themselves and they have made the youths want to be amassed, which is why you'd see more youths worshipping in temples and giving their money to mogs instead of using their time and money to nourish their own minds and brains. It would be comical if it were not sad. The Biblical equivalent would be Eve ignoring the so called serpent so her eyes remain closed so she does not see that she and her Adam are naked ignorant slaves. Another would be 20th century Nigerians fighting and begging to be taken to market through the Sahara Desert or on a transatlantic slave ship. Ironically, both still do happen. The youth should organise. There may be other templates for what I speak of but Jesus' need for 12 disciples is illustrative. He could not do whatever it is written that he did all by himself and needed 12 others to assist him. Even God, as powerful as some claim God is, had to enquire of others, hence, "let". "Let", in the youths instance would be more of a "let us youths unite". It is step one. And I do not mean every youth unite under one single leader or banner. Some might unite under a banner of tribe (unfortunately), or religion, (ditto) wealth, class, state, school, profession, location, Plato, Fela, etc., the point is to organise to accomplish a purpose which is not about going to heaven when they die, but about using collective equally valued energy to generate power to actualise that purpose so it becomes an accomplished outcome. That's not the solution, just the start. The first, 'what should be done', so to speak. And I bet you'd agree it is the toughest step. Most Nigerians are individualists. Apart from family and work and church, most are not part of any particular group. Even tribe and religion are things we affiliate with in discussion rather than in action. A Northerner hating Southern Nigerian still loves suya and would buy Fulani cow for owambe, and a beggar from the North would not refuse sadaqah from a heathen. Not many of us have atheist-theist or Christian-Muslim arguments in the real world. It's on forums like these that we emphasize such differences. Neither can most claim to be part of a group that is working towards a purpose! Then there's the elephant, as I call it. I don't know about you, but I myself, I am small. And though my energy might significantly increase in the future, at this point in time, it is limited, so, rather than me finding a solution to Nigeria that I have not got the power to implement, I think I should be focusing on the sphere in which I interact and might be able to influence if I operated in it rather that assuming I have Supergod powers and can affect the whole of Nigeria! Even supposed Super God Jesus acted locally and provincially, so how much less one's self? The strenght of the youths is in numbers. If the youths could organise and take responsibility for the sphere they could easily influence, like educating themselves, and cleaning up their street even, perhaps in time, the educatedly empowered would unite around something worthy of uniting for. And to be honest, the youth are educating themselves on this wonderful empowering forum. But as you attest, prior miseducation and ineptitude has ensured they have more interest in bbtacha's tits and snakes and our hatred of difference than in that which unites unless it is putting money in their pockets or they are emptying theirs to mogs. That said, projected time for realisation of the magnitude of the error of your "let" and your "give youths power over Nigeria", which is common amongst the youth, is 10-15 years if not 30-50, two generations of youths away. And that's if we start now! In time, enough youths would have eaten fruits of knowledge, and with open eyes, will empower themselves and refuse to remain naked and enslaved. Aluta continuata, as they say, as we slowly evolve our understanding and realisation. Again. With apologies. |
donjazet:Don't take long to realise he's empty upstairs.
|
Xavfra:Thank you Xavfra. That's what I hoped the op understands so he stops praying like some theist, or rather, like he assumes I might, but he seems to be blinded by what he assumes to be my religion instead of carefully considering what I have said. Those in power will never ever "let" youths have power in Nigeria, TheSourcerer, unless those youths have first bowed down and worshipped those in power. And those youths who have bowed down and worshipped those in power have no power whatsoever since they exist at the pleasure of those they worshipped who "let" them. Please let me know when we realise this, for then shall we be ready to begin to start to prepare to organise and take over and rule our illustrious nation. |

feedthenation:Sacked, actually. Though they haven't yet decided who by.
|
OLAADEGBU:I doubt it. It would be almost impossible for a jury of his peers to find him guilty. And by peers, I mean legally defined peers.
|
TheSourcerer:But you are the one expecting to be let and given power, by a super power I assume. Or do you not see that yet? |
TheSourcerer:Lol! Instead of simply asking, like a true believer, you create stuff in your head and pressume it to be true, theist TheSourcerer. |
TheSourcerer:I accuse you of praying to gods and hoping for manna from heaven and all you do is shake your head in disappointment? I would have expected an atheist like you to be incensed at such insults. |
TheSourcerer:Its ok for you to be disappointed Sorcerer. I could say the same about your "let" and your "give youths power over Nigeria", except I'm rather more amused that an avowed atheist would unknowingly plead to gods instead of asking youths to actually stand on their own feet and fight for what they want. Go on, say, "I did not plead to gods". I dare you. |
TheSourcerer:Let? As in allow you? Like when Yahweh asked permission to let there be light? Sounds like you are begging your enemy in a war to kindly adopt strategies that lets you win. Do you know anyone who does that, apart from Yahweh? |
TheSourcerer:Who, exactly, is supposed to "give youths power over Nigeria"? Is there some power over Nigeria giving god that gives power over Nigeria that I'm not aware of? Sounds like manna from heaven, to me, and goes to show the youths in Nigeria have no power whatsoever. If they did have power, their horse would be in front of their cart instead of behind it. Power is not something some thing gives youths. If youths want power over Nigeria, they must become powerful and grab it; and the first step is, organise. It's the most difficult step of all, as you might notice in the inability of us to organise. |
