That's exactly what a soldier mean!

Soldiers don't live for themselves, they live for the mission that binds them together as one.

Fela got it right, Jesus is the commander and we his followers are ever ready to obey, you can only recognise us with the way we move!
So if you're not prepared to DISOWN yourself for the mission, then forget about Jesus, that's why the rich guy couldn't be one of us! Luke 18:18-23

God bless you! smiley
When I was small, some children in a neighbourhood I was in used to sing:

Oh, the grand old Duke of York
He had ten thousand men
He marched them up to the top of the hill
And he marched them down again

And when they were up, they were up
And when they were down, they were down
And when they were only half-way up
They were neither up nor down

Over and over again, you'd think they were intentionally trying to stop me understanding in the corner!

One thing you fail to understand is that Jesus did not only have soldiers, but shepherds, and fishermen, net menders, business men, hookers, zealots, and a thief, even.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Saith the Word of the Lord.

Yes, these are the narratives that ought to be taught in our classrooms.
In our classrooms like in our primary and secondary schools?

Amujale, I am from the Orolu Kingdom of Ifon Osun, look it up on a map. Schools in my Kingdom get corpers to teach the students in the schools and in the past 20 or so years that I have been aware not more than say 5-10 out of over a 1000 corpers posted to my Kingdom have taught any history at all not to talk of history of Ancient Egypt. So valuable are history graduates of any sort that they don't usually do service in some poxy village school like the ones we have in my Kingdom. They get top jobs commensurate to the inherent value in knowing history, and low supply high demand does the rest.

And there's my people! Daybreak till dawn on the farm or giving corpers benefits behind the shed after school. The ones who say, "buda, why do you bring us book? Just give us the money, mehn!" I mean, do you really fancy getting them to sit in a class and learn not even their own history, which we do not learn, but Ancient Egyptian history? Where do you fit it with all the other stuff like maths, reading, earning a living and learning to live life, not to talk of religion that has much more money to advertise, and the latest trainers, tachabb and Sony Playstation?

In an "ought" world, says you. Not the very real world most of us live in, that's for sure.

As in, you are missing the point or you are intentionally not reading my response.

Kindly read again, and tell us exactly what you are disagreeing with.
But I am not disagreeing with anything!
I simple asked you to educate me, Amujale.

I am grateful in advance.
I have struck out copied if it makes a difference. I ignorantly assumed you might not want to give me your originals.

What are you getting at here?

Eventhough i'm not interested in plagiarising stuff as that is bad practise in the literal world, plus its a foreign concept to the African, however i will post a copy of a wall painting, not a plagiarised version but a copied version with the necessary citation just to show how it really ought to be done.

It's wrong to falsify someone else's material and then try to claim to be the original.

Its wrong to lie, steal and murder on the basis of falsified and malicious doctrine, all the activities that the peddlers of the bible engage with.

What are you disagreeing with here?

By asking such a question, infers that you disagree with what was said earlier.
How can I disagree with what I am ignorant of?

You mentioned original better material than what I currently have and I am asking you please to share it with me so that I too can be knowledgeable like you.

What do you mean, "what am I getting at here?!

Amujale:
Not really, one could copy stuff from history, however there needs to be accountability and honesty, something the authors of the bible didnt have.

They maliciously and wrongly copied and plagiarised an original source, making their copied and plagiarised version fake.

The bible was malicioisly copied and plagiarised and written in a way that attempts to demonise their sources.

Assuming i was marking the authors of the bible, they would score minus; a minimum of zero at the most.

Well. It is written that, 'God created us, both male and female God created us', so I cannot possibly see how our behaviour is not of God's knowings.

Perhaps instead of accepting God's plan to evolve before us, we, mud, assume to know God's plan and want to be in control of it?

It would be funny if it were true.

I was responding to his statement that you must believe everything in the bible. The quran actually states that it was dictated to Muhammed from God through the angel jibreel, and that believers cannot reject one part of this revelation and cling to others, you must believe everything in the Quran. Note that the quran was said to be revealed( not written at first) by one man in the space of 23 years. Islam is a true definition of religion of the book.
Some are telling you that the Bible is the "definition of religion of the book", and that you must believe it to understand, but I hear you arguing vehemently, as one should!

Even if it says you "must believe everything in the Quran", you would seek to understand first before believing or not, as you have clearly stated, and as you would do with any book, I'd bet, if I were a gambler.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Is Christianity So Divided? by budaatum: 10:26am On Jun 07, 2020
What you call "divided", I call God building up a people of power in knowledge and wisdom as we learn from one another and grow. For we are mere clay until the Infinitely Wise God breathes through our nostrils to make us human as is being done here.

The only issue is, some hold their nose so the breath of God does not enter. But it's their nose and they have the right to not be stunk up.

Almighty and everlasting God, who hast revealed thyself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and dost ever live and reign in the perfect unity of love: Grant that we may always hold firmly and joyfully to this faith, and, living in praise of thy divine majesty, may finally be one in thee; who art three persons in one God, world without end. Amen.

Happy Trinity Sunday!
The day we are stunk by the Holy Ghost!

No it doesn't! That is just a belief you have! And I beg you not to spoil your beautiful understanding with lazy beliefs!

The Quran too is a book. And like the Bible, one must not look at its cover and believe before actually reading to understand it.

Apart from that. buda bows to your superior understanding.

JWs stand firm for Jehovah's sovereignty, but we must be submissive to the worldly politicians in power, we only disobey them when they're demanding what doesn't rightfully belong to them 'OUR WORSHIP'. Mark 12:17 smiley
Max, the following is an English lesson. It has nothing to do with theology. Pay careful attention.

Submissive, is when you obey whether you like it, and moreso, when you don't.

The fact that JWs disobey, for whatever reason, means JWs are not submissive.

You, for instance, hardly ever submit even when you have been shown to be incorrect. It is your nature to go on resisting even in the face of obvious superior understanding; you, Max, stand firm and unsubmissive.

The only authority superior to Jesus was his Father who art in Heaven, and He alone must the followers of Christ submit to as we should remind ourselves everytime we say:

Christianity Etc › Re: Why I Don't Believe Everything I Read In The Bible. by budaatum: 7:49pm On Jun 06, 2020
Ok Max, if you say so. You hopefully understand that my own understanding of Christ is that despite all the guns in the world , and their ability to kill my flesh, they are still in no way superior to me.

A current example would be George Floyd, who was killed, but is turning out to be even much more powerful, as in, effective, dead.

Maximus69:
The Roman authority killed Jesus and that was the end of his public appearance, only his closest confidants saw him later, the Jewish community never saw him again!

So superior authority is anyone having the power to determine whether you live or die!

For instance, if the Boko Haram catches a Christian, they become the superior authority over him with the guns in their hands so whatever they command him he must do except if such command go against Godly principles, that's when he can say "NO!"!

Jesus will obey the superior authority just as he admonished us to pay whatever due those ruling us demands, a slave belongs to his master so as long as he lives he must OBEY the person who bought him! smiley

That does not mean he submitted to them, Max. But first, I apologise. For I did think in my heart that you meant submit to the Elders.

"Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered", He said. "So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows".

That "afraid", means submission.

In Psalm language, "fear" is used:

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

In Star Trekinese, we say:

"Boldly go where no man has gone before!"

And it is, in fact, the lesson of the entire chapter.

We can clearly see that Jesus did not submit to any Roman. For despite them killing his flesh, they could not touch his soul. Hence, we sing, "He lives"!

Maximus69:
Christianity is about submission to those superior to you!
No it certainly is not! At least, a proper understanding of Christianity is not "submission to those superior to you"!

If Christainity was "submission to those superior to you", 12 year old Jesus would have submitted to his superiors in the temple, and to the learned Pharisees and Sadducees he kept arguing with, and to Caesar too, all who held superior positions to Christ. But he didn't! He called them serpents, he said they were evil, "Woe to you hypocrites," he said. "You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. How will you escape being condemned to hell?"

In fact, "submission to those superior to you" is the doctrine of the antichrist! As in, the doctrine of those who want to use the Word of God to enslave. And, despite all the threads about slavery currently on here, God does not want slaves, God wants co-workers!

I know you would argue this Max, but I will try really hard not to engage in this with you because I know it will profit not. But I do put it to you that all those who accept Christ into their lifes, receive the Comforter, the Holy Ghost that Christ sent down to minister to each and everyone of us who is willing to accept it. And those in whom the Spirit of God dwells are slaves to no one and nothing!

mind you the Bible wasn't written when Jesus was on earth. The Lord Jesus Christ was a believer. He believed what the heavenly Father told him. If he didn't believe, he won't have lay down his life. Do you know the difference between the Lord Jesus Christ and the devil. The Lord Jesus Christ is a believer and devil uses logic.
The Lord Jesus Christ was an Understander. He understood what his learned mother Mary had taught him, which was the Word of God (The Torah). And because he understood, he was able to use reason, and logic and his vast understanding of the Word! You would notice this in all his arguments with the learned Pharisees and Sadducees who believed and could reason and use logic, but lacked understanding.
