I think it's unfair to demolish people's property without a fair hearing, proper investigation and possible compensation.

Nobody builds a property worth millions expecting it to be demolished.
You should expect your building worth billions to be pulled down if you built it illegally, and you should not be compensated for an illegal building, for that is like compensating you for being caught stealing.

I think I'd blame myself for not doing due diligence and renting a house that's about to be demolished since I'm certain the landlord had more than 3 months notice.

Lesson learnt. Don't be stupid in future.

We after all can not hate our close neighbours and be pan with faraway Namibia.

I found one of your 2000mules.

A jury spent about five hours deliberating before convicting Kim Phuong Taylor on 52 counts of voter fraud in federal court Tuesday in Sioux City. Taylor faces up to five years in prison on each count. A sentencing date hasn’t been set.

Prosecutors say Taylor took advantage of other Vietnamese immigrants by illegally filling out election forms and ballots. Her husband, Jeremy Taylor, lost a GOP primary for the U.S. House and won election to the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors in 2020….

If you had a teenage girl in school and they allow boys to use female toilets or sports changing rooms would that be shoving transgenderism down your throat?
No they are not since I have the choice of moving my throat to a different school if I don't like it

basilico:
Or maybe at the mall grown men using the female restrooms with your daughter? Or maybe your wife in a sauna/spa with a long(er) schlong guy identifying himself as a woman.
Sigh, maybe it would be others affected not you so move on.
My daughter can choose a different mall or order online if she don't like it, or shut the cubicle for privacy.

Point is, not all, not even most, transgenders are threats, and I wouldn't teach my daughter to think they are, though I needn't bother since her best friend could be transgendered.

That above is where you and I differ. I am not as hopeless as you are and I doubt the majority are that hopeless too. Thankfully, since you hopelessly do not vote and leave your faith to the hopeful, you are very unlikely to go shooting anyone, which is a good thing.

Many of us understand our responsibility in choosing those who rule us and will continue to work and be hopeful of achieving desired results.

The question is, if. The fact however is it never happened (or at least you've never provided evidence it did), so your question is moot.

For your information I supported Obi, and election was held and he lost, as in, others got more votes than he got. We can be there stupidly doing dump claiming kraken and Biden cheated (see image), or buckle up and do whatever is required so we achieve a better result in 2027.

The choice is entirely ours.

We will like it if it will or is happening as you are saying, meanwhile we take what we see right now, we witnessed what happened in a state where they told us that in places where 90% of the youths were murdered and some only sons widows were brought out and the widows were forced to watch as their only children were murdered in front of them all voted for the person who claimed openly that he was the one who invited the people that murdered them, tell me you would have also voted for such person
Did you witness, or were you told Which is it?

And do you have any evidence to show me the person who claimed he "invited murderers" won?

My take
There are things you can't wish away or spin away or hate away or insult away, and one other thing is clear, everyone must reap the type of fruits they sow, a Mango tree must produce mango fruit, THOSE that will be disappointed will be those that sow that mango tree and expeck to get orange from it, from where I come from, we don't expect anything from the shit hole, we take care if ourselves, we wouldn't be disappointed because we did not believe in the first place.
Still we are not last and will never be
You should read my take on the slavery of Adam and Eve to see how much I love freedom.

I do not wish things away since I know that work is required instead. Democracy, at least the ability to conduct free and fair elections, takes a lot of learning from experience and experimenting to find what works best, and that is work that we Nigerians and are currently doing.

But I trust that by persevering, we will eventually learn not only how to conduct elections but also how to choose what's best for our nation, especially if we don't let the antidemocracy brigade disrupt the tiny progress we have made so far and set us back decades into the dark ages of military rule.

You are free to be on denial, everyone knows that in an election where you need a simple majority vote to win only two people can win against only one person, the point o keep making is that the shit hole is a place where your your votes will not count because the most violent criminal will steal it with the helobof hungry fools, I wouldn't discourage anyone that want to go and waste their time and the reason I didn't vote is that they didn't give me their voter's card and I don't regret not having it or not voting, if by any chance there will be democracy in nigeria, that will be good but I know it's impossible, keep explaining
First, my country Nigeria is not a shithole. For Nigeria to be a shithole, Nigerian you must be shīt, and I must be shīt, and both our parents must be shīt, and I doubt you'd agree we are all shīt.

In my own local government where I would vote, we are not shīt like they seem to be in yours. In mine, when we vote and scumbags try to steal our vote, we fight back because we value our democratic right to vote to choose our political leaders.

You, on the other hand, claim you don't bother, and are now complaining that those chosen by those who bothered to vote did not choose whom you'd have wanted, which just shows how irresponsible you are in choosing who leads you.

I agree. We must hold our leaders accountable. Diezani Alison-Madueke's continuous battles, though not so much in Nigerian courts, delight me. It's in fact why I wanted APC to lose the last election. They wouldn't probe my bubu.

But they are in the firing range of your criticism and suggested improvements, unless you want to go shoot them with a gun, which I know I can not join in doing. Sorry.

I guess that's because every voting process and election court judgement I've witnessed has been an improvement on past ones, so I see hope in us getting that part right someday. As to whom people choose to elect, the experience of suffering under bad leadership is a very good teacher of whom to democratically choose in the end.

This is what I think of your "firing range".

At least find them guilty first.

I'm beginning to think my explanation is too complex for you.

If I convince you that your vote does not count and you should not bother to vote for my opponent, my opponent will get fewer votes because you did not bother to vote. Meanwhile, I will convince my own supporters to vote, which will result in me getting more votes than my opponent, so I'd win.

As regards to democracy being in nigeria, only those in denial and those who don't know what democracy means will see the sham in nigeria as democracy.
Personally, I wouldn't be in support of anyone killing any one or die because of politics, anyone that does is a fool
Unfortunately for you, what you call "the sham in Nigeria" is currently the best democracy we are capable of doing, which, considering how such a short time we've been at it, is rather commendable in that it has ensured the safe handover of government, which is much better than we used to have when change of power was by coup.

We will and must improve of course, which we do by practising to do better every 4 years. But if you are not satisfied with the slow progress we've made with democracy, just kindly inform me of what you replace choosing leaders with, considering you are not prepared to kill nor die for Nigeria.

No, the opposition does not want to vote for him.

If the opposition is convinced voting does not count, and then refuses to vote for the opposition, the winner will need fewer votes to win.

Just think about those in regions that refused to participate in democracy in Buhari's first term, letting Buhari easily win and exclude them from his government
