gohf:Children may not be that dumb to think hens tortoise and hare talk because they can use their eyes and ears to see and hear they don't. Unfortunately, when it comes to Jesus, most believe what they have never seen or heard in real life, and create imaginary stories to convince themselves that what they believe is true. The stories in the Bible are extremely valuable once understood, but most value belief instead.
|
Finally, the Church of England learns English and points out "man" in the Bible means humans, since "man" can't obviously be male and female.
|
gohf:It would be like refusing to learn from fictional stories of the tortoise and the hare which is dumb since stories are told to teach lots of things. The issues tend to start when you are told to believe the tortoise and the hare are real and the stories really happened. That has negative impact on the mind, as research will introduce doubt, which may discredit the Jesus stories and be a bar to learning from them.

napt2: "I have written many times on this thread that if a candidate is good, then you should be able to defend that candidate without mentioning any other".And you must have written it in your thread where it's impossible to quote and challenge what you think one should do. The candidates have held office in the past which sensible people would use to judge their suitability to hold future office, and it's silly to not compare candidates seeking such office. Even in recruitment we compare our most shortlisted candidates. Damn! Some compare Messi and Ronaldo! I think your error is in "good", which I'd demote to better, in one's opinion, which does call for comparison, but worse is "candidate". What's better about an Obi presidency (or regime, as we called these things under military), is, lots of those currently in APC and PDP who haven't already joined Labour will be frozen out for a while until they reposition. That's a good thing. It's not about any individual candidate being good or even better, but about which candidates presidency might provide the better opportunity, which we hope will be positive, and a decluttering of current leaders is very good, in my opinion, as little as it's likely to be. |
You began your post with "I think"Of course, one thinks. It's not as if I actually know. To be more honest, I hope. There's absolutely no difference between them. .But there is a lot of difference between them, naptu2. They think different and believe different and reason different and have different policies and ideologies, and different supporters from whom they will choose their cabinet, so their presidency is bound to differ. And there is a difference between us now and those of us of the past at least as far as understanding and expectations and our ability to use tools to yell when expectations are not met. It's a democracy. Progress is so slow that it's often only seen in hindsight, which is why "people that made those posts are his biggest promoters now!" Their eyes were just slow to open till they'd experienced worse, just like our eyes have been opened a bit more by bubu. |
Cashio:O Lord, when you finally decide to get off your worshipful backside and answer my prayers this is the sort of sense you must give me please. Amen. |
Therefore, could Peter Obi be our Abacha? (that's if he wins).Naptu2, I think it is one of the other two who, if either wins, that would be today's Abacha (as opposed to your "our" since Abacha was ours). Electing either of the other two sanctions them doing the abachaness we are told they've always done, while we Obidients have had our eyes shinned by the abachaness of, if not Buhari, definitely of those other two, so we will deplore it amongst ourselves. It was not Buhari or Idiagbon at the post office, bank and busstop telling us to queue, but we who mounted WAI amongst ourselves, and we can do it again.

benalvino3:Guess they telling her not to use their platform to deceive the magagullibles.
|
Naptu2, I too have seen this thing before, "Politicians say the same thing .... People get taken in by these things", but unlike you, at every election I see tiny progress of people's eyes opening instead of living in dreams. Take bubu's Next Level and 4x4 of the last election and tell me people have not learnt that politicians lie a bit. It's not everyone, nor even a majority, but fewer would fall for that so easily today, especially considering bubu called many lazy fuqs, and fewer will fall for such antics the more we reap what we sow in ignorance. Nothing makes humans learn the errors of their ways more than the suffer their ways reward them with, which will no doubt continue whoever we elect, though I feel we'd be more responsible for our future under novice Obi than the others.

According to Mr Kuti, the last son of late Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the person would have gone to every Local Government and had his structure. He might "would have", but the legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti mostly campaigned in the shrine and had no structure, but I guess Seun might have been too young to know that. Naptu2, what Seun fails to realise is, only under the old thinking is it thought that any one single individual can effect positive change in Nigeria or that the Senate can stand in the way of the people who want change. We shall see, I hope, since Obi first needs to win, but Seun's "The Labour Party has a socialist structure. Peter Obi is a capitalist", shows how naive Seun is being since we Nigerians are mostly sociocapitalist, once one considers how many beg for their subsidised daily bread.

The application, being ex parte, was not served on the Attorney General of the Federation who is sued in the case as the representative of the federal government. |
Seun, you need to become Obidient!

Your mum is sure going to try everything to prove herself right that "this sort of dressing is from the devil", so marrying her will be you choosing between mum and "girl that wears bum shorts in public". Problem with only male child and only mother is child becomes substitute husband, and him marrying is like husband taking on a second wife. Sometimes, the wives become friends, but often, first wife makes life hell for second wife which is "serious circumstances" for husband. You are about to share the "important person in my life and I love and respect", or at least divide it between first and second wife. Are you mature enough for this, is a question you need ask. If you have truly found the "woman I have decided to spend the rest of my life with", and if you and "girl that wears bum shorts in public" are mature enough, you'd table this with her and plan a course of future action on how to deal with your mother together, though I do not advise it if you or "fiance" lack the maturity as it might have the opposite effect of fiance disliking your mother who will do everything to be disliked since religious mum can't like devil. If not, I suggest you remain married to your first wife until she finds you a second wife she likes. That said, do consider cutting the umbilical cord and grow balls! |
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara and Governor Nasir El Rufai of Kaduna probably have billions of old naira notes they have no way to exchange for new. https://www.nairaland.com/7560376/protesters-besiege-cbn-headquarters-over#120739643

Makavelli001:I doubt she would marry you since you don't seem equal to her. Perhaps aim lower and go for an uneducated village girl who would likely let you head her.

Good on them.

Enugurangers:I pray he does. In fact I've ordered the dead to join the gop and vote for dump in the primaries. |
sanpipita:Anyone who knows dump's history of putting his boot in and muddying his own chances would remain silent while dump shoots his own feet. Smart people, as Biden showed, will not fight pigs in the mud because pigs love mud fights. You see it here when pigs are ignored and are pained.

kkins25:The only way to beat imaginary satan is to make imaginary gods go viral? Works for some I guess, and a tactic used by many, but some of us live in reality than in some made up matrix you need to be pilled to experience. |
Prevent The Election InsteadAre you for real? Do you want to refuse to use your one opportunity in 4 years to elect a ruler so Buhari nominates someone else to replace and continue his legacy? I did not watch the video, but if that's really what he said you should do I hope you learned from the Igbos who boycotted the last election and spent the last 4 years complaining they were "marginalised". Wise woman. She might grow and find better so it's wise to keep open options. Grow and you too might. And thanks for your support. |
Wintertime:Fact. In 1863 President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation declaring “all persons held as slaves within any State, or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States, shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free.” Nonetheless, the Emancipation Proclamation did not end slavery in the nation since it only applied to areas of the Confederacy currently in a state of rebellion (and not even to the loyal “border states” that remained in the Union). Lincoln recognized that the Emancipation Proclamation would have to be followed by a constitutional amendment in order to guarantee the abolishment of slavery. In the 18th century a brutal trade network transported kidnapped Africans to European colonies in the Americas and the Caribbean to work as slaves, mostly on plantations. In 1787, campaigners against slavery such as Thomas Clarkson and Granville Sharp founded the Society for the Abolition of the Slave Trade, believing that ending the trade was the first step towards eradicating slavery completely. They raised awareness about conditions (including with publications from former slaves such as Olaudah Equiano), boycotted slave-produced goods and petitioned Parliament. |
ObosiUkwalla:This is untrue.

I'm certain when asked why your response is libby democrat, still, some reading might enlighten you. It might even make you understand why white western countries are generally richer than Africa. https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/04/27/about-one-third-of-u-s-children-are-living-with-an-unmarried-parent/ https://www.aecf.org/blog/child-well-being-in-single-parent-families https://www.federalreserve.gov/econres/notes/feds-notes/wealth-inequality-and-the-racial-wealth-gap-20211022.html

adamusuleiman1:No more debt funded bloated paychecks so of course they would moan. And that was in October before the job cuts. Now that six-figure earners are losing their jobs they won't need to complain about living paycheck to paycheck. Meanwhile, lower to mid five-figure earners who really are struggling to live are on strike, in some places at least.
