People should be allowed to self identify their own nationality too so Nigerians can get US passports, but the fact they can't shows how stupid this is.

The US is indirectly the watchdog of democracy in Nigeria and other parts of the wordl. Examples are sanctions we got during the Abacha years and even Obasanjo as dictatorial as he is could not come out in public to say the truth about his alleged 3rd term agenda which he really wanted to happen.

The US is looked at as a model for democracy all around the world so if it fails there,it fails in most part of the world because there is no way you can call dictators to order directly or indirectly because in your own very house sef, democracy has failed there.

Hope you get my point now?
I do get your point. My point is democracy is not about to fail in US any time soon, because US democracy is robust and has many institutions and hypervigilant individuals supporting it so it can't fail or allow for dictators.

Buda, why I pray democracy doesn't have any problem like ours in Africa is because we already have leaders with dicatatorship tendencies who will do anyhow if democracy comes falling in the US.
Like when our Obj tried to go for a third term? He failed because we made democracy work, and US makes democracy work more than 2e do because they been at it longer and know the perils of invigilance.

happney65:
You see what happened that night of January 6th was a prelude to what they will do here if democracy fails in the US.
I though 6th Jan was an attempt to fail democracy, still, whatever it was, it clearly failed and the perpetrators are being charged with crimes and jailed if found guilty.

happney65:
They were all on SM making jest of the US and sharing videos and photos of the horros that followed and claiming see the "so called saner climes". The US being the watchdog of democratic institutions around the world still make some of them not wanting to mess up,but if the watch dog becomes the hunted itself, everyone will have a freeway and do as it likes.

I hope such won't happen again.
Add faith to your hope. Basilico on here is an example of those who delighted at the 6th January attempt to usurp democracy and install their magalord. Ask him how he feels now knowing no bamboo was found in any kraken.

US is not the watchdog of democracy in Nigeria. We the Nigerian people must watchdog our own democracy our own very selves instead of seeking our messiah in US or we would lose our democracy, do note.

But you had issue with a peaceful transfer for power the last time. You did. It was just steer stroke of luck that saw you guys through. Those blood bleating guys were even feet of Pence and if he was killed or injured or think anything will go on?
Haba! Happney! Even at the time you called them "Oloshi with stupid followers" of "The Man child". Hear you below now, so who is "you guys" "just steer stroke of luck"?

happney65:
The Man child is still asking for the election to be tossed after lots of law suits tossed away and about 3 hand recounts..Oloshi with stupid followers
If they had killed Pence, dump would have in all senses imaginable died at the same time, is what would have happened. The dead and buried or cremated would have seemed more alive than he would have seemed if he had whipped up maga to murder Pence.

happney65:
Also the major culprits are still walking free isn't it?
Its the law. Patience required.

happney65:
I pity you people. You think when dicatatorship starts it will just start in a day? You think so? Watch for more violence and election defeat denials during the midterms then you will know you guys are already in a deep
Bob Marley will say the rain don't fall on one person's house so I guess you pity yourself too. Me? I don't have that problem.

Resistance too does not "starts it will just start in a day", is why some have started a long time ago, do be aware please. Besides dump has obviously not got the intelligence nor the capabilities to dictate to anyone with a brain, and most Americans would obviously resist being dictated to by him as was clearly shown in the last presidential election held in the United States of America where the man child lost.

happney65:
The seed is already germinating and a recent article I read in the Washington post says top election officials are telling the Biden administration you guys are in for bigger trouble in subsequent elections.
Subsequent elections, lol. Joseph Chamberlain would say: ‘In politics, there is no use in looking beyond the next fortnight’, so I can't see what crystal ball this "bigger trouble in subsequent elections" is being seen.

Funny. Do you know the chaos all that will cause before it gets to the supreme court and before it might be finalized? You guys will be in a constitutional quagmire. You guys don't know what happens in third world countries democracies sha. You had better put a final stop to something like this by passing a law to make it unchangeable by anybody or else, I pity you.

You are sitting on a keg of gunpowder that will explode anytime if such isn't done. Did you ever believe in your wildest dream america could have issues with a peaceful transfer of power? Did you? It happened and we all saw the shame live.

Members of Nigeria's political class were happy that day and singing and dancing because if it were to succeed, they will even do worst here in Africa.

I pity you people, you don't know anything
But America did not have any "issues with a peaceful transfer of power".

Dumps term ended when he lost the election, and despite the deranged fool and his people throwing tantrums, he left office at the due time on the due day and his deranged people are paying the price in jail now.
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Democrats Take Control Of Congress by budaatum: 3:30pm On Aug 23, 2022
happney65:
This is exactly how it happens. All they needed for it to succeed was a willing vice president which if america isn't careful of,they will get next time someone much more deranged than trump comes into the scene
Funny. Don't you think "a willing vice president" is subject to the Constitution and the law?

If Pence had been willing the Supreme Court might likely not have been willing, and if the Supreme Court was willing the people most likely wouldn't have been willing.

Just imagine how the folks in Georgia might have reacted if their votes for Biden had been given to dump and you'd realise how resilient America is at resisting the deranged.

When you're really interested in what I know and how I have come to know it I will know and be more willing to engage you. For now, I tell you, I don tire for your mata.
Triple, first, I am not a top scientist, except if one goes by your definition of what a top scientist must do or be. I did however study science to university level since it is required for a degree in engineering, and a thing one learns from it is one will be asked for evidence for any claim one makes and one must ask for evidence for claims others make.

Second. If I was not interested in what you write (as opposed to what you claim you know), I would not waste my time engaging with you. Pity is, like most, you assume what you 'believe' is actual verified knowledge, despite the fact that you have not bothered to verify and have no evidence to make it knowledge but expect to be believed.

And third, you must be tired indeed, and must have been tired not to investigate the impossible phenomenas you present here as if they are facts you have evidence for, like reincarnation for instance, an age old myth that has been debunked numerous times.

Sorry, but I do not accept what you can not provide evidence for, which is indeed my choice. And if you present it on this public forum I reserve the right to wade in to show how little thought you've actually put into your claim.

Happy Sunday to you too. And may you be strengthened.

They will vote for whomever they want! That is the definition of democracy.

If we Yorubas had a majority in Nigeria we would not let anyone else rule but a Yoruba person unless we rule badly and have had enough of ourselves. Thankfully some Northerners have had enough of themselves.

Go read what you wrote about Muslims and you'd find its no different to your description of your JW self below, which thankfully is not a description of my JW neighbour nor of the numerous JWs and Muslims I know.

MaxInDHouse:
You misquote people instead of listening to them carefully.
If you live next to me as a neighbour it's the same way i will treat you, what i'm saying is that no matter how nice we are to neighbours we can't engage you in our sacred service.
For instance when we are praying you can't join us unless you're ready to learn our ways of doing things and in your form of worship no JW will sit with you at all.
So if it's because of our stand that you're this furious then let me tell you that you've been thoroughly deceiving yourself because the same way your neighbours treat you is how i treat my neighbours here. They believe it's all well since we don't think of hurting anyone but then ask them to tell you sincerely what our God say about nonejws then you will know that Max has been your best friend telling you the truth from the heart as you're not in my neighbourhood where we only greet each other without going deep into sacred matters! smiley

thank you for clarifying. Exactly my point, regards to modern Islam in general they are not forward thinking
I bet you are talking about the Islam that you see in your vicinity from which you generalise.

Perhaps visit Saudi Arabia and Dubai or watch YouTube videos, then come tell me if they are not far more modern thinking than say Nigeria that is not an Islamic nation.

If your vicinity is Nigeria I wouldn't say any religion we practice includes forward thinking. And if you know your history you'd find Islam was partly responsible for dragging Europe out of its dark ages.

What you don't see is how now you are a JW you are no different to what you were when you were a Muslim. Just that what you believe is different, your behaviour and attitude are the same as what you listed for Muslims. Or have you forgotten how many times you've told me JWs don't mix with non-JWs, despite my nice JW neighbour mixing with me?

You seem to think the sort of Muslim or JW you were and are is how every Muslim and JW is, as if you practice Islam (and JW) perfectly as is stated in the book, but see you not loving your neighbour enough to give the benefit of the doubt that you might have got it wrong.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Islam Technology Averse? by budaatum: 12:36am On Aug 20, 2022
If you had Muslims in your neighbourhood and community and family you'd know better than to write this rubbish which many on here would claim is a description of Jehova Witnesses.

MaxInDHouse:
Now this is what i meant when i say:
"POLITICS"

Islam is all about how to carry everyone in their neighbourhood along with the policies of Islam, so if you're eating during their fasting period no Muslim will look at you with eyes of approval because they believe it's you that will disturb their prayers during the time their God opened his harms to bless their community.
When you as a female leaves your head uncovered no Muslim will approve your outlook as your hair is bringing a curse to their society, these are the things that moves all Muslims to support the move when fanatics among them decides to islamise your community.
So it's not that they're all into politics practically but the religion has been the major reason why they always fall for the bait when politicians use motivational speeches to woo them! smiley

benalvino3:
Most don't plead guilty, right? you just admitted that people are pleading guilty for crimes they did not commit.
Ben, if you have paid attention you'd not be in this muddle. Technically, pleading guilty to manslaughter after murdering someone is pleading guilty to a crime one did not commit, and as I've continuously said, to get a reduced sentence. An innocent person who has not committed any crime would be dumb to plead guilty to a crime.

benalvino3:
I just played a video for you of two brothers who went to jail for crimes they did not commit. when they found out they are innocent, they asked them to plead guilty to seek their freedom. they plea and they are free.
"They found out they are innocent", and asked them to plead guilty is even dumber than what we've discussed so far. No wonder they got compensated in the millions, which is a clear disincentive for the legal system to function as you think it does.
