Maynnmann:No. I said it "went through numerous rewrites, redacts, additions, translations, syncretism, omissions, etc etc, etc". So I am obviously not saying the Israelites wrote the book I am reading. Maynnmann:Are you are saying I am reading a book that began in Egypt? Maynnmann:You'd think I'd know this won't you, since the English version is only about 400 years old. Maynnmann:A book about yahweh that the tribe of shasu got from Egypt and that was adopted by the Jews? Amazing isn't it, especially considering the Greeks then adopted it from the Jews (the Septuagint) and gave it to the Romans (Vetus Latina) who spread it around the world including the English which I am now reading.. Maynnmann:Don't you think I should rather go to the tribe of shasu who gave it to the Jewish people, or to the source in Egypt where the shasu got it from so they can explain it in the language they gave it to the tribe of shasu in before it was given to the Jews? Maynnmann:That's probably why it's worth reading, but let me ask you again. budaatum: |
Sounds to me like the book I am reading was not written by the tribe of shasu after all, unless you want to claim the tribe of shasu gave a book to the Israelites who adopted the book of the tribe of shasu. I think the book I am reading was written down from storys and myths that were orally trasmitted for centurys and then went through numerous rewrites, redacts, additions, translations, syncretism, omissions, etc etc, etc such that any semblance to whatever might have begun amongst the tribe of shasu or any other tribe would mostly be lost in obscurity by now. The beginning of the book I am reading not being "yahweh of shasu tribe created the heaven and earth", shows editing at least, so how can I possibly be reading about "yahweh of shasu tribe" instead of what the book I am reading has been edited etc etc to tell me about? P.s you have not answered my questions. budaatum: |
Many have no idea how little light we have.
|
Maynman:This is for you to educate buda on the "yahweh of shasu tribe". But first let me show you the level of my ignorance. The earliest known reference to the Shasu occurs in a 15th-century BCE list of peoples in the Transjordan region. The name appears in a list of Egypt's enemies inscribed on column bases at the temple of Soleb built by Amenhotep III. They were Semitic-speaking cattle nomads in the Southern Levant from the late Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age or the Third Intermediate Period of Egypt. They were organized in clans under a tribal chieftain, and were described as brigands active from the Jezreel Valley to Ashkelon and the SinaiWiki Did the book that I am reading come these people who were called shasu by the Egyptians, in your opinion? What is the lesson to be understood? |
nikky5:Neither can I see "many people see Peter Obi as a saviour for our country", but now that you've confessed that you "see Peter Obi as a saviour for our country", I'm going to suggest reasons why you see "many people see Peter Obi as a saviour for our country". You are not using your eyes to see. This is likely because you are one of those brought up on the gospel of messianism that someone will one day come and save you. If you used your eyes you'd have noticed Peter Obi is not presenting himself as a saviour for our country but as a beacon to rally around so we can be the saviour of our country ourselves. The party of Peter Obi is called the Labour Party. The Labour means work, while The Party means all of us. It does not mean sit on your lazy ass making crap up to believe while expecting your saviour to come from heaven!
|
mycar:That's the thing with you Obidients. U na too de labour brain, unlike urchins who labour their's not least they labour in vain.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. First, when! The exclamation mark is to denote screaming. Then I immediately remind myself that my disbelief is suspended. Besides, it must have occurred to one by now that what one is reading is not history but the writings in answer to the question how did all we observe around us come into being. Still, and at least: What is light? What is darkness? What is good? How does one divide? |
Maynnmann:Do you know the authors of the book I am quoting? |
Maynnmann:I don't know the authors Maynman, but that has never stopped me reading books I do not know the authors. Apart from reading books that the covers and title age had been torn off, some even missing half the book, I have read books that are of unknown authors. The Pali Dhammapada being one amongst many as is the Corpus Hermeticum. They were obviously written by people, just that they are not known. Do you now the authors of the book I am quoting? |
Maynmann:Yes, I am reading a book which according to you, i don't know its author, and you have not exactly said who the author of the book is so I guess you don't know it's author neither, but please note that this would not be the first book I have read without knowing it's author. I very regularly read books that had the title pages and authors missing. |
With Leclerc's throttle mistake and indecision on Sainz tyres, I think Ferrari might be done this season.

Maynman:I'd presume those who wrote a book that you say is about the "yahweh of shasu tribe" would be those who now about the "yahweh of shasu tribe", whoever the writers of the book may be, and assuming it was written, and are writing to tell you how "he" the yahweh of shasu tribe operates. Thank you. Now I only have to consider if what the writers have written about the operations of the yahweh of shasu tribes are valid or not and how and of what benefit it is to let it consume my time. After all, who's to say they knew what the heck they were writing about or could write well enough. I mean, so far I have read them write about In the beginning, and a God who created the heaven and the earth, without a "yahweh of shasu tribe" in sight. I wonder why and how the writers were operating, as opposed to how the yahweh of shasu they were writing about operates, at least first. |
Maynman:"He" being how the writers of the book operate, or "he" being how their "yahweh of shasu tribe" operates? Who is Yahweh of shasu tribe by the way? |
Maynman:I may indeed be "reading the pentauch and sinaiticus that’s talking about Israelite god, yahweh of shasu tribe", but I am talking, by writing, about Genesis 1 in the Bible which means book and which may be about "the Israelite god, yahweh of shasu tribe", and which sounds like an answer to questions 2, 10, 11,12, but is not what I am talking about, as I am at the beginning as you might note with more than 4 questions to seek answers to with my own eyes and my own mind and my own other senses which I feel you might delight in seeing me use and do instead of just believing what I am told by others, though correct me if I am wrong. You do not want to deprive one of the lessons learnt by seeking for oneself or do you? |
Maynman:You see very wrong. I am not "talking about" the "Israelite god, yahweh of shasu tribe". I am talking about the book that I am reading. Specifically, the so called book of Genesis in a bigger book called the Holy Bible. That book might be "talking" about the "Israelite god, yahweh of shasu tribe" but I am talking about what I am reading in the book. |
Dtruthspeaker:I am not here to counter you DT. Others are doing a very fine and capable job countering you already. |
tctrills:There is inside and there is outside and I had no choice in the matter.

Before reading on, the seeker must either suspend one's disbelief if one can't believe and accept either what one reads and or the explanation some would give or just abandon reading this ridiculous book with its overbold statements, because it is rather obvious that in seeking answers to the posed questions instead of accepting the answers some wish to force down one's throat or the literal, one might come to different conclusions. After all, it's not as if we all equally see, or equally look, so why assume what some have seen is all that's there to see? A cultee in the Cult Of The Askers And Bossoms And Seekers will look with your own eyes and see with your own mind. That is this cults entry requirement as stated in the opening post, and this is the beginning. Imagine the questions to be asked the further one reads on or what might happen if you believed and sought no further? |
Dtruthspeaker:To be honest I willfully excluded you when I began this thread, you'd find if you read the opening post. Please continue posting what you think. It helps us all grow. |
Dtruthspeaker:So, metaphorically speaking do you or do you not know your maker DT? |
kkins25:Perhaps don't go and see a babalawo or don't join this cult. Your promised land destiny will then remain intact. Though i might think you deserve way more than promises, who is buda that thwarts your destiny? |
Dtruthspeaker:My apologies. I thought you were a pot telling me about your potter but here you are telling me you cannot know your potter. I think every reasonable person might tell me a pot is not a person but I guess I need to wait till i find a reasonable pot. |
Desusi:Actually, no state is governed by Sharia Law and Sharia law can not spread all over the nation. States that have Sharia law also have customary along with regular courts which are non-sharia. You can't drag a non-Muslim to Sharia court, and Sharia can't spread all over Nigeria because some will refuse to give up their Bible and ayilala Ogun lakaye burn anyone who tries to take my iron! It's why so many are against Muslim Muslim ticket. We would not be against it if we were all shariad. |
I wish her well. She will live long.

When you get time please learn from Abini2012 to bless us with pictures. https://www.nairaland.com/5202919/adventure-uk-tier-4-dependant And thank you for so far, most especially for ignoring those "quick to pick on imaginary flaws and project". |
P1PrinceKT:Why should I protest when a judge is already determining what to do in a case that Muslims brought before him to protest already? I can wait patiently till 25 July. |
Dtruthspeaker:I think you might mean you yourself "can not say otherwise", because I have heard very many say otherwise. Just saying in case some come and say otherwise. Not everyone is after all a part of your "we". |
YoungDaNaval:You assume we are dumb. You think we care where you are from when in fact your behaviour matters more to us. We are after all taught to know you by your fruits and not ignorantly assume the mud that made you defines you, so what but your lack of knowing would make you assume your Igboness is more relevant than your behaviour? Does your type of Igboness make you unlikeable perhaps? For years some have been calling for Biafra and that silly Oduduwa Republic I add. If we placed such people in a Nigerian ministry or the Nigerian Police Force, will they serve Nigeria or assiduously work to destroy it? Can Biafra and Oduduwa Republics exist without the destruction of Nigeria? If we lived in a face me I face you and you wanted to carve some of the communal area into your private use, I think I might dislike the destruction of the communal area too. Now imagine me, I Pledge to Nigeria We Hail Thee Arise O Compatriot. Can you see how I might dislike the destruction of the communal area that I pledge to and hail and arise to? And that's apart from the fact that you obviously don't love your neighbours or you'd find ways to live with them even if that must include educating them against their obviously ignorant will. But, thankfully, all Igbos are very not like you. At Agunbelewo, some miles from Osogbo along the Osogbo-Ogbomoso Road, Igbos set up Osogbo Alaba department stores selling all manner of white goods. They live harmoniously amongst the Yorubas - well, baring some ignorant one's amongst us - and even accept some of us as apprentices beside their younger siblings from their village to learn their trade. We too take them to our farms and rent them land to farm if they want to, and by harmoniously living together, we learn from each other and build a community instead of destroying the land we live on. Anyway, what I really wanted to say is, stop deceiving yourself. Only an ignorant tribalistic blind fool would claim all the Obidients you see and hear is "igbos are supporting Peter". To start with, there's not enough Igbos to shout so loud. And we are not as ignorant to not see a good thing as you seem to assume. As to whether you like your self or not, what a very odd question to be asking us when what you should probably answer is whether you like yourself enough to be Obidient!
