hopefulLandlord:No hope, waiting for people to "show you" is what made you rightly abandon the religion in the first place, so why would you expect citing is what might make you comprehend? It is not people who can cite that can "show you" but you using your own heart and soul and mind to ask and knock and seek for understanding for and by yourself so you may see for yourself which I hope you are not saying bye to. Still, even if you are, others aren't, so I'll help you. All the plagues God mounted on the Egyptians for enslaving the Israelites is condemnation. You would not claim you were being blessed if those plagues were inflicted on you for your behaviour, and would be wise to consider that behaviour condemned. Also, Jesus saying, "Get thee behind me satan" can be considered as condemnation against slavery. If Jesus had bowed to Satan on the mountain he would have been Satan's slave which most would not consider a good thing. And ignorant Adam and Eve nakedly tending a tiny proxy garden is slavery too considering the lofty task given to the humans created before them and in the image (in power too) of the God we read created them.

Salewa97:On a serious note, I would not bet on this man being president. That's probably because I feel this coming election will not be rigged especially with far too many Obidients labouring for a fair election. And no, I'm not saying Obi will win, just that I very much doubt Nigerians would vote for bubu.20 which is all Tinububu represents. |
hopefulLandlord:In Exodus, and those who read my posts would understand if I add in Genesis 3 where being enslaved is condemned. Slavery does not need to specifically be condemned in the Bible for sensible people to condemn slavery, though, Moses waving God in the face of Egypt is condemnation enough for many. You would not want to have been an Israelite enslaved by Egypt, and history has hopefully taught you not to enslaved. |
Who gave amotekun authority to stop a vehicle carrying more than 140 travelers in Ibadan? Are they police? |
zaza1955:Why "suspected Fulani militants"? Suspected by whom? Why not just criminals or bandits instead of the added inflammatory unverified opinion? |
If you believe [a] religion, by which you are really believing a book you read, then it is very obvious that you have not used your own heart and soul and mind and being to ask and knock and seek for yourself so that you may know or at least have a better idea of what might be valid. Such believers are prone to being preyed upon and enslaved and exploited by those who know better and tell them to believe. Hence the stories of Jesus the unbeliever for you to learn to use your own heart and soul and mind and being to ask and knock and seek least you end up trembling like demons.

TMTR:Not true, which is why it does not make sense to you. I suggest you check again because you might find that religion is not responsible for slavery. Human beings are. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_slavery https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_slavery_in_the_Muslim_world

hopefulLandlord:This is amusingly a sign of non-brain use. We read in the Bible about Israelites being enslaved for quite a while. The conditions they worked under are described and their desire and the effort they expended to deenslave themselves is detailed. Most readers then have the added advantage of knowing about slavery that went on since then and nothing about it sounds uncondemned. Thou shalt not, is a rule for children and the immature. Grownups who use their own minds can infer from the more complex.

mignone:Funny thing is, restructuring involves the elimination of "'idle' ppl receiving salaries", just that most peoples' "advent of restructuring" does not include "a fifth of civil/public servants out of job". You may not be condoning mediocrity but paying for mediocrity encourages mediocrity. If mediocrity stops being rewarded people will up their game. Restructuring should be for positive change and not for same ol' same ol'. |
It is your will that I resist. MrPresident1: |

KnownUnknown:If it were not the shasu horde it would be some other horde so buda better be able to overcome hordes that spiritually derail. |
ThrownBack:And that is what is amazing about this Peter Obi phenomena. There has not been a politician in my lifetime that so many Nigerians have been willing to labour with. |
pansophist:This is like if I don't give you you will refuse to eat. |
pansophist: EmiDon11:You both seem to agree. Lol. Hope you find market. |
ThrownBack:He will not go and rest. No others have ever gone and rest until we all decide to retire them, so let's obidiently labour to kick them into rest.
|
pansophist:I offer you 20 cents to stay. I'll pay by PayPal so you'd need to cover the charge in advance. |
EmiDon11:30 cents. Your monicker is not as valuable as pansophist despite being older. Quality of posts do count. |
pansophist:50 USD for 2014 account and na im you de call "veteran here" and want take retire!?! Seun hasn't yet made monikers worth anything and seriously needs to monetise Nairaland so monickers can gain and hold their value. Pansophist, 50 cents is my last and final offer. Though I think I might offer more for you to stay as there aren't many sophists around here. |
pansophist:What! 30 cents no be small change? Swear me and I'll just deduct it from the 30 cents. After all, your posting record will affect the value of your monika and swearing monikas are the cheapest. If anyone wants them that is. |
EmiDon11:Abeg, sorry. I hope you find customer. Someone is undercutting your business with a much cheaper offer. |
Seun: |
pansophist:I'll buy. I offer 100 naira. |
I find it amusing when people believe any media outlet. This isn't directly about that though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUkYMt7uy8Q |
Elohe001:Funny you think you can just make a claim and expect we'd believe you. Evidence for the bolds please because some on this site erroneously claim all sorts of others are budaatum too. |
EmiDon11:Na 2012 account, and not 2006. https://www.nairaland.com/gabreal1 How much? |
|
EmiDon11:So, na the age of the account make you buy am? How much? Me too wan sell. |
I hope this doesn't turn out to be a nightmare. |
EmiDon11:Why did you buy? Could you not just have opened your own account? |
