Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Sunday his country has no intention of pursuing a free trade deal with China. He was responding to U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to impose a 100% tariff on goods imported from Canada if America's northern neighbor went ahead with a trade deal with Beijing.

Carney said his recent agreement with China merely cuts tariffs on a few sectors that were recently hit with tariffs.

The prime minister said under the free trade agreement with the U.S. and Mexico there are commitments not to pursue free trade agreements with nonmarket economies without prior notification.

I think it is your misunderstanding that is funny.

It's easy to forget actions have consequences, and think posts on Nairaland by non-voters elect rulers. This Republican candidate is finding out wgat, as many others soon might.

If it wasn't that he couldn't look his daughter in the eye, it sure would have been that he couldn't look voters in the eyes when he was campaigning. It's after all unlikely that most anywhere would gladly elect a government that approves of murdering its citizens in broad daylight because it wants to get rid of non-citizens.

Parents are doing their job, but that doesn’t mean every child’s bad behavior should be tied solely to parenting. You should recognize that society also plays a huge role in shaping a child’s behavior, come to Lagos and see what’s happening, maybe you will understand where I’m coming from.

I have been to Lagos. Grew up there in fact.

Daughters who are taught good values by their parents tend not to be the ones looking for a wealthy man to fund them.

Saying that, our culture is also at fault in not generally valuing daughters, and even making it difficult for them to be employed or inherit property. But many daughters are empowering themselves however they can, even in Lagos.

Parents must do more, is my thinking.
